Hey, guys! In this video I'll show you Evolution of Captain Hook.
Captain Hook is the main antagonist of Disney's 1953 animated feature film, Peter Pan. He is an elegant, yet bloodthirsty pirate that commands The Jolly Roger, a brig docked on the shores of Neverland. Hook has long since abandoned sailing the high seas in favor of having revenge on Peter Pan for cutting off his left hand and feeding it to a crocodile, who has since been in constant pursuit of the captain. While a worthy opponent for Peter, Hook is destined to fail-sometimes because of Peter Pan's ability to fly, but more often through the bumbling incompetence of his first mate, Mr. Smee.
Hook's frustrations are understandable; he lost a hand to his opponent, is constantly pursued by the crocodile, and is unable to fly. These factors arguably make him one of the most sympathetic Disney villains. His antics with the crocodile are considered by many to be the funniest animated scenes ever created by Disney, according to Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston in the book The Disney Villain.
As one of the most recognizable and popular villains in Disney's animated library, Captain Hook is also a primary member of the Disney Villains franchise.

2003 Hook is PERFECT. He’s menacing yet charismatic. Evil yet has a soft spot of sorts, and the actor who brings him to life is great. Also love Dustin Hoffmans portrayal as well!

@@torrashinjiro4196 oh absolutely! The 2003 film was great. However, I don’t think Disney distributed and released that version. So forgive me if I’m incorrect, but I think it was a Universal property.
The new Peter Pan and Wendy was really dumb, however…Jude Law’s portrayal of hook was a highlight! I enjoyed the backstory they gave him.

The original Disney hook, Dustin Hoffmann's hook, and 2003 hook are the best in my opinion. The perfect mix of a hypocritical and charismatic gentleman. And there was a book written a while back on a young captain hook, great read and one of my top 10 favorite books. Written around the time all the villians were getting backstories written about them.
Captain Hook is my second favorite Disney Villain and my number 1 Pirate Captain ❤️🏴☠️. The Disney version and Dustin Hoffman’s Captain Hook are my favorite versions of Hook 🪝🏴☠️🤍❤️💜🖤

Captain Hook from the animated Disney version, the sequel Return to Neverland, Hook, the 2003, Peter Pan Live with Christopher Walken, and Peter Pan and Wendy are all my favorite Hooks.

@@mr.movieandtvguy5310 Oh yeah. It's got Kiera Knightley as Tinkerbell, Charlie Rowe as Peter, and it has Bob Hoskins reprising the role of Mr. Smee. It's also got Charles Dance as some kind of alchemist and Anna Friel as Captain Elizabeth Bonny.
In this version, Peter and the Lost Boys are a street gang of pick pockets under the care of fencing instructor James Hook in London, 1906. They break into an antique store and are accidentally transported to Neverland via a magic orb. Peter looks up to Hook as a secondary father figure because Hook loved Peter's mother and took him in after she died. It's kind of sad in this version seeing how protective Hook was of the Lost Boys against the pirates, but he eventually becomes corrupted by the Jolly Roger's original captain, Elizabeth Bonny.

Good synopsis. I also observed that Peter Pan and Captain James Hook in the Sy Fy channel's two part made for television movie were reinvented as variations of The Artful Dodger and Fagin in "Oliver Twist" before they were magically transported to NEVERLAND.
the only Hook i remembered more or less was the one from Fox-Kids Peter Pan and the Pirates. he was voiced by Tim Curry.

In my personal opinion, Peter Pan (2003) version of Hook was the best, because it was the most accurate one to the book. But, the whole film was a masterpiece extremely accurate so it makes sense. Praisings to Jason Isaacs still because his performance was on top.
On the other hand OUAT's Hook, Killian Jones, pretty different from the original story, was a great adaptation for the story of the show and the way they were portraying heroes and villains. He is such a complex character and so well played by Colin, is easy to love him practically from the beginning.

Marooner's Rock. That is the real name of the place of this scene as it says in the Peter Pan book. Disney changed the name to Skull Rock, but it is not the canonical name that is in the book.

I think you missed a mini series. 2011 neverland miniseries. One of the best hooks. Also the mary Martin peter pan tv play. Such a good hook as well.
