    I went here expecting that it would be a more objective take. Like if the book really gives what it promises whether it is humanly okay or not. But you just indicated how you changed and do not resonate with some books and some authors as before. And it justified down-voting the book drastically. Which makes the whole list very subjective and a bit frustrating to watch, dare I say.

      Same here. The whole list is VERY SUBJECTIVE and therefore I wouldn’t recommend this video to anyone who was looking for new reads for the year. Disliked the video.

      Yes, definitely a subjective take, this is good feedback

      Uploading the list of books you reviewed in your description would suffice

  • @OnePercentBetter

    I have observed that the main piece of feedback on this video was that most of you were anticipating an objective take on the contents of each book and whether it delivered on its intended message. Not my subjective, on-the-fly opinion based on me not resonating with a book because my goals and values have changed, and my newfound preference for employing intuition over objective analysis.
    My take on The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi is a relevant example where I would have rated it a 5 for its intended message, but rated it a 2 because of its misalignment with my inclination for spiritual Truth.
    I have taken your feedback onboard and added 'Subjective' to the video title so that future viewers will know what to expect. Thank you for voicing your constructive criticism, it can help others 🌈.
    If a made another tier list video but ranked each book objectively, would this be something you are interested in watching?

      Objective take would be really usefull

    • @stephanie.augusta.s
      @stephanie.augusta.s Před rokem

      Trying to be "objective" is still subjective, so I found it more useful for you to explicitly describe your subjective perceptions, and especially how your perceptions changed depending on where you were coming from and looking for at different stages of your personal evolution. It was also helpful when you added what the author was intending to offer and what the goals of the book were. In that case, even if you ranked the content differently than someone else might have, that information gives us a sense of whether that book might be right for what we're looking for.
      I can understand people wanting objectivity if they think it's going to give the "wholeness" of perspective, rather than one person's facet of experience, but is that realistic? Bringing us into the honesty/transparency of your subjective experience is a way of giving wholeness to a perspective.

    You mentioned about taking down some of your older videos. Never do that please. You are what you are right now only because you went through that earlier phase. Own it and live it.

    • @OnePercentBetter
      @OnePercentBetter  Před rokem +2

      Howdy Vaman 🙏🏼 Indeed, however 'owning it' doesn't imply that an older video should be kept up. From my current understanding, the highest good to aim for in life is unconditional love. If leaving an older video up doesn't contribute to more unconditional love as opposed to taking it down, and allowing more attention space for a more unconditional love inducing video, then it makes no sense to keep it up.

      @@OnePercentBetter Since my last comment, I have grown spiritually as well. Now, your perspective makes a lot of sense. A marker of past ideology that actually stunts spiritual growth, should not exist as a constant reminder of your old thought process. I have learnt a lot from your journey. Thanks a lot, man!

  • @slimost
    @slimost Před rokem +1

    First of i like your videos. Not a massive fan of this one tho. you seem to make very quick subjective decisions for some books such as Sapiens were you just put it at the bottom without explaining much more than just saying that you do not trust the Author. I don't doubt you have thought more about it than that, but it makes it sound like you dismiss the entire contexts of the book just because of the author and it sounds like you haven't thought critically about the book. again don't doubt you probably have thought more about it, it just sounds that way to me. And the same goes for Viktor Frankls Man search for meaning. just because you read a statement from one guy, who you give no important information about . He says that Frankl acted in a way against one person and that unreliable source makes you doubt the context of the book. All in all, it sounds to me from this video that the list isn't as thought out and rational as I believe you yourself are.
