A Big Wave Event Like No Other And The Women Who Charged Hardest | Red Bull Magnitude 2020

- Red Bull Magnitude, a women’s big wave video contest, took place across the Hawaiian Islands from December 1, 2020 - February 28, 2021. The inaugural event put the top waterwomen to the test and exemplify what it means to be a big-wave charger.
The three-month contest will took place at iconic breaks across Hawaii such as Jaws on Maui, Waimea Bay, and the outer reefs of Oahu's North Shore. Film crews will be on-hand to capture the action when the surf shows a sustained 15-foot Hawaiian wave height. Competitors had the option to work with their own film crew at any Hawaiian break so long that the waves captured meet the noted criteria. And of course, they delivered.

I would love to know how long is that waist leash that Keala's wearing? (I tried them in double-overhead Baja barrels, they weren't really my thing. Add 2 or 3 feet to your regular leash length would be my guess, cause putting it at your waist instead of at your ankle puts the board 3 ft closer to your face when you're popping up from under a set wave.) She's got her shit dialed in, so I'd like to know how long she goes. I experimented with really long leashes at Maverick's in the 90's. Too much to reel in.

I assume the reason Justine didn't win biggest wave is they are encouraging paddling? Regardless whipping into that cavern is something not everyone can do ski or no ski. So sick.

Justine took the most monstrous tube of all time for a woman, she is undoubtedly the champion of the year. Except that every time she gets stolen the show, weird ?!
Maybe because that was not the biggest wave. They should do a best line of the year. Much harder on a small board to keep the lines she takes.

Please, let's not turn this into a spectacle to display female buttocks or other body parts. It's a surfing contest and we want to see big waves and athletic talent, not nudity.
I think these ladies may have limited themselves to big wave surfers (for dating). Hard for a guy to have smaller ones than the lady.
