WAY AWAY i finlander
WAY AWAY Yous remind me of another world travelling couple, Eric and Kyde.
You only visited Finland for a week, You did not actually move here. I call false advertisement.
Yeah, I hit the dislike button for this reason - tricking people is not cool.
Jaiven
I think they MAY be world travelers that actually live on the road; maybe? There are a lot of CZcamsrs that travel the world and move countries for years at a time; and have no specific country that they are living in at the moment.
damn I'm stopping now at 1:30.
DroogieSouls i saw your comment at 03:23 thx for the warning, and i understand when she was tapping on the phone how many countries they have visited. Agree dont like to be fooled either. Thumb down!
Yesss I’m moving to Finland and I want to find American experiences in Finland :(
You got really expensive ferry tickets. Helsinki-Tallinn-Helsinki tickets are 5-10 euros at cheapest.
Yeah, Linda Line is probably the most expensive ferry between Tallinn and Helsinki :D
Go all the way to Finland to find a Starbucks???? Maybe look for a McDonalds too? Why not something Finnish like Kappeli you walked by?
I'm amazed how you guys can carry heavy bags, operate the camera and still look comfy. Your host surprised me by pronouncing the word "türlü" perfectly. With her positive attitude Ashley needs her own "Mrs Brown's Neighborhood" show.
+Hur Guler I believe Anna lived in Turkey for a little bit. And what is Mrs. Browns Neighborhood?
Ashley's version of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood :)
Starbucks coffee in Finland? BLASPHEMY!
I heard Finland has the best education system. The US could learn something from them.
I agree. Our friend Anna who we stayed with is a teacher and it was so interesting to learn how different the process of becoming a teach is. You have to really want a teaching career to make it through the process. Although I still think they are way under payed. -Ash
4th best
We used to have the best education system yes but we don't any more and it's getting worse. The government keep saving money on the education system and it's really affecting the quality. Both my parents are teachers and they of course think it's horrible to see the results getting worse but they can't do anything since the big decisions are made on a national level. It's really a shame since the education system used to be something we could be proud of.
Kai Sellgren it's not only these recent cuts, the cuts have been going gradually on for a long time now. No of course these cuts aren't the only reason but they surely doesn't help. Also, there have also been changes in how the teachers are supposed to work, nowadays they have to spend more time doing administration and paper work which takes up time from the education itself.
Jack Skellington For my understanding Actually democrats are the reason why your tuition fee is expensive because they policies are solely based on taxation after taxation.
Come to finland and mock our coffee culture. That'll end well.
I hope you guys got a chance to visit the countryside in Finland. As much as I love Helsinki... A cabin with a sauna on the lake is the thing to do.
Only unlimited dataplans in Finland. Limited ones are pretty much dead because nobody bought them.
49$ per person?! You can go across the pond for like 30$ easily... With Eckerö Line even less... But that takes 4 hours or so. With Tallink its like 2 hours give or take.
It sounds like you are just visiting here, not actually relocating and moving here.
If you went by Tallink or Eckerö line, it would cost about 20 to 30€ for both and take 2 hours.
A woman is ready before a man?? What is the world coming to?? Lol That ferry looks way more comfy than my bus ride back from Paris haha
+Jodi's Expat Life haha she's ALWAYS ready before me (lately). And yeah it's pretty nice, they even have a bar and commissary.
WΔY ΔWΔY My bus had Wi-Fi but it only worked for like 30 minutes out of the entire 6 hour ride haha
+Jodi's Expat Life that ALWAYS happens!
A Paris bus is sooo comfy, ....liar.
With tallink I get helsinki-tallinn-helsinki trip usually in abou 18€
Welcome to Finland! I'm happy you like it here. 😊 If you decide to travel to Tampere (the largest inland city in Scandinavia full of history and amazing atmosphere) let us know. We would be happy to guide you and maybe even accommodate you. 👌 You can see a few videos about Tampere on our channel (in Finnish with English subtitles). 😊
Lotta/Lanttimatkat
Lanttimatkat Lotta, vietiin Ashley ja Josh meidän rantasaunaan! Eli kävivät Tampereella! 🤗
Eikä! Voi vitsit! Harmi, että missattiin! Ite kyllä tulin vasta eilen takaisin Tampereelle Japanista, että oisin missannu muutenkin. Mut mahtavaa, että saivat erinomaiset oppaat Tampereelle! Jaksoa odotellessa! :-)
Anni is right. I forgot you were in Tampere otherwise I would have messaged you. :( Too bad we missed you guys.
Maybe next time! :-) Looking forward for the Tampere episode!
Tampere is not in skandinavia. It is in fennoskandinavia.
Helsinki is nice but you have to get out of there also to see the actual Finland. Lapland
Eveliina Juselius actual Finland is Finland proper or Varsinais-Suomi. Lapland is just Lapland
Helsinki on iha paska
Mitä se sitten kertoo Suomesta, kun Helsinki on kuitenkin ylivoimaisesti parasta mitä kotimaasta löytyy.
Siiri Malmberg Kumpi?
Siiri Malmberg No se on totta, mutta se toinen pelaakin sitten ihan eri liigassa. (Huomasitko kuinka hienosti kekkasin tuon.)
I just saw your video and I liked it so I subscribed your channel! Nice video though! Can't wait for the next video of Finland
Found you guys from Nate and Kara! Glad I did you two are great.
+troyperez76 😻 thank you! We love those guys! Welcome to our wayfam
Looking forward to seeing what Helsinki has to offer. Would love to go there sometime on one of my European weekend trips 👍.
+Matthew Tasker I can already recommend it!!
WΔY ΔWΔY any suggestions for say a 48 hour visit ?
+Matthew Tasker hmm, get a Helsinki Card and do every free thing. Plus do the Löyly Sauna!
WΔY ΔWΔY perfect. 👌 Adding Helsinki to my 2018 EU travel list. 👍
As a native Finn I really recommend natural history museum
sooo what did this video have to do with Americans moving to Finland exactly??
Dylan U They are Americans, and they are moving to Finland. I think
Kamppi! Omggggg!!!! It's so weird seeing people go as tourists to places that I call my second home.
Hi I'm loving your videos. I was just wandering what it was that you missed out on at the tourist info? It sounds like a must know if travelling.
Yay so happy that the beard is gone, love the hair Josh, awesome vlog, awesome channel and awesome Instagram account. Have a fun time in Finland.
Wow thank you Joshua for your kind encouraging words. :) We appreciate it. -Ash
For anyone travelling between Tallinn - Helsinki, I recommend Tallink boats. Buy return ticket! Even if you don't return. If you go back and forth in the same day it is 16€ in total (oneway is 32e, not sure why that is)
How long were you two in Flinland before going to Latvia ?
If there's a next time, you should visit Rauma! It's a small town in south west Finland that was born on 1442 and is famous for its handmade lace. The very centre of the town that is an UNESCO world heritage site. It even has its own dialect of Finnish! It's only a 3.5 hour drive from Helsinki to Rauma. If you do decide to visit the town, look into "pitsiviikko"(lace week) and "mustanpitsinyö"(black lace's night). On "mustanpitsinyö", there are stalls and booths all over the center of the town, from which you can by food, pastries, ice cream, candy and "metrilaku"( meter liqourice, so all kinds of liqourice that's 2.5 feet long!) and of course clothing and tourist stuff. A beauty pageant is also organized during lace week, and there are multiple free live music performances during black lace's night.
”small town” 39k people😂😂😂
So cool! I really want to go to Scandinavia! And I definitely want to go to Helsinki & Tallinn! I'm excited to see the new videos in Finland, enjoy your time there!
We had so much fun. Some really cool videos are on the way. -Ash
Uhh..sorry,but Finland is not really a part of scandinavia
But,im sure that if you come here,in Finland,,you're surely going to enjoy it here!!😊
vixie pix oh really? Well good to know, I would love to come anyway! :)
@@simo-tn9mj That again. On some aspect Finland IS scandinavian.
The cheapest ferry I had from Helsinki to Tallinn was just 3 euros. But one needs special voucher for that..
What!!! 3 Euro!!
Hello. How did you move to Finland? I am finishing my degree in the next two years and want to live and work in Finland!
Next time you go between Helsinki and Tallinn and wanna do it for cheaper (no matter the season), you should definitely go on a big ferry with a car deck, they’re real cruise boats actually. For example Viking Line has really cheap tickets. Saving about 30€ is definitely worth the extra hour or so on board!
I'm going to Helsinki next June, on my own. I'll be using these videos for tips. Do you have any other tips and advice?
.
This has been said probably tons of times already but i suggest trying to go and visit northern parts of Finland. More south = just more industrial stuff and old buildings. While north is literally the opposite.
We are trying to get to Lapland!!:) We have heard only great and amazing things. -Ash
ALL Finland is beautiful.
You have dedication to be filming on travel days! I can't film while I'm lugging my bags around as I'm so keen to just get to wherever I'm going.
yes it's amazing how they pull it off!!
Its so funny how many people actually love watching our travel day videos the most. Haha but I totally get yeah. They are usually the most stressful days and luging everything around...Its for sure not the best side of me that comes out. -Ash
What backpack is Ashley wearing in this video?! It looks like such a wonderful pack!
Tom Bihn Smart Alec
That's it I'm telling my husband about this country. I wanna move there also. How is the jobs there
So did you?
Josh's clean face is great companion to ashley kind face, hope you will get most luck out there!

Fun content. Great production values.
that girl is smiling so much... like it!
u r the cutest couple i have ever seen so pls dont stop making videos and sharing them with us 😍😍😍
AMERICANS AREN'T ONLY THE PEOPLE FROM THE UNITED STATES. Canadians are AMERICANS and LATIN AMERICAS are AMERICANS ALSO.
If you ar continue to Sweden when leaving Finland i will recommend go by ferry over the night and arriving Stockholm eating breakfast omboard.
Nice having tourist over here. Helsinki is a bit expensive as a tourist location. I recommend the 8 euro 24 hour public transportation ticket, so you can discover the city. The Hotels are expensive, so It is wise to use Hostels or such.
Wow cool!! Thanks so much for the advice. 8 euro for 24 hours is not so bad.:) -Ash
LOVE LOVE LOVE your adventures......
+debra moss 😍 thanks Debra!
I enjoy your videos a lot, how do you guys afford traveling all over?
I work on the side, plus we make a little from YT now and some people have decided to help support our video making on Patreon. Plus we save money (and make some sometimes) with promotions on videos. It all ads up to be JUUUUUUSSST enough.
You should come down Southwest to for example Tammisaari, Karjaa or Hanko
Ooh. Nice, new place. The Helsinki card looks nice. So you all going to use alot of public transports.
Yeah!! It was so so helpful. It made getting around easy peasy. -Ash
welcome to finland
Thanks Milla!

Hahaha the last thing I expected to see in this video was türlü 😁 it looks great by the way Anna 👌
Safiye Ser Teşekkürler :)
It was great!!!👍🏼❤️
I think Linda Line is the most expensive ferry to get here with. One hour longer ride would of been cheaper. That's what I usually do. 2.5-3 hours isn't too bad at the end of the day. More time in the pub ;)
Thats good to know. It was the easies for me to find at the time. Im glad to know there are cheaper options in the future. -Ash
Yeah. There are many options. In some grocery stores you can even get discount vouchers if you spend enough money.
Anyways, belated welcome to Finland, hope both of you will enjoy it. Better weather would surely help at least :P
Oh! They tried to tell you to go to R-kioski! Are you still over here?
theres diff or special culture in every point of the compass in finland, or what i've noticed, i live west
Haaaa.. Like the videoo..
Vim pelo Travel e Share..
Uruuu🤗🤗🤗
Ayyyy welcome!
How can you afford all the travels?
We are very careful with money and we work very hard. -Ash
Good, so now you guys got to the top of the world.
It is hard for an american to move to europe? i would like to move to europe.
Vibes Helsinki. Hope I can go there soon
If you think 49 USD for a ticket is expensive... you're in for a shock living here ;)
I've never seen a stray dog in Finland. If there was a homeless dog for one reason or another someone would take it to a rescue shelter.
You are not moving to helsinki. Correct if i am wrong.
what is the songs name? i really like it.
You can do what ever you want with it..
Hi guys
I visited Finland in May
I really loved
suomenlinna sea fortress
Our next video will be there. It was stunning!! -Ash
I trusted you guys. I thought you were really moving to Finland and we could be BFFs but no. The first rule of trusting someone is honesty but you were only here a week. I am breaking up with you guys. Don't try to phone me. This is goodbye!
Nice video, need to watch all
Josh - what happened to the Viking beard?!?!
+The NYC Couple it died a Viking death... by the sword. Or rather, razor.
Okei joo en tajuu ???
😂😂u super overpayed for the ticket
I would have gone on a cruise ship
Ohh that sounds fun too!
I'm trying to do real research on this and ya totally tricked me. Good thing I read the comments. *hits back button*
Finnish culture is more authentic on small towns between Uusimaa and Pohjois-Lappi, because Helsinki is same as every country's capital in Europe.
Ashley that app of yours is missing some of the EU countries (talking about grey ones).
+Butn Skalar yeah we still need to see some!!
That's true, but what I've meant was how some of EU countries are missing completely on that list, i.e. Slovenia, Slovakia - maybe more, but those two caught my eye. Thanks for the answer ;)
+Butn Skalar ahh yeah not sure as we haven't been to those anyway.
welcome to finland
Come to Stuttgart 🇩🇪. as everybody knows Oktoberfest....
We actually have a friend there now! Would love to go but need to plan well ahead I think.
Oktoberfest is really popular here in the U.S. as well

Could you put English subjects? My English is not so good and I would like to practice with you :)
In Finland Nobody speaks Spanish ! No Habla ! Everbody uses suomi / svenska / english / eesti / russki / deutch !
Yummy Food Looks Great.
Its so fun to try new things:)
Lol se ei kyllä ole ihan nii hyvää xd
Love Finland. Please move Finland videos!
Muy bueno 💖🙌
Thanks friend! -Ash
Lovely Turkish hospitality...
Recommending visiting the natural history museum if in helsinki.
Oh cool. That would be so fun!! Thanks for the recommendation. -Ash
Yeah I've just seen Penniless Writer's video of the natural museum, and she was very taken of it, said it was quite a different exprience to other natural museums. Helsinki museum animals are displayed in lifelike sceneries with several other species and with background image like it continued further, making it kinda frozen snapshots of the past. I've never been there myself as I very rarely go to Helsinki, but after seing the video I'm recommending it as a top site to see in the city.
I am very exited to see what happens next …
BEANTWOORDEN
Fun experiences ahead!!
Fyi, EU has ended roaming surcharges, so take your new SIM card with you while traveling in the EU :)
+Holger Hägele sadly most major carriers have exemptions.
That dinner looks delicious I'm hungry :/
+Ahmet Yeniçay 😋 it was so good!
Josh and Ashley, you both look very Norwegian. or Finish. That's the Washingtonian in you. :)
