You shouldn't force out the original fine tuners like that. You were able to on this bridge because the base plate is a zinc alloy so it's soft enough to let the crimped ends of the fine tuners out, but on a steel base plate you're likely to just strip the threads meaning your new ones won't screw in. You're better off taking the trem off, winding the fine tuners all the way down and either grinding or cutting of the off the bottom of each fine tuner, then unscrewing them out of the baseplate. Also, worth noting that the new stainless steel saddle screws (that you use for intonation) are much harder than the baseplate and if you crank them too much you'll strip the thread in the baseplate (I did on my Schaller FR that uses the same baseplate as that.

I just ordered normal FL saddles for Kramer and converted it into classic type. They are perfectly interchangeable.

Yeah the saddles make a huge difference!! One of my guitars has the Floyd special "sucks cheap metal" I put real steel saddles on it and kicks ass! The tremelo mounting posts make a difference too!! I love that guitar bro what year is that Kramer? I have an original Floyd from the late 80s on my EVH guitar and that made a huge difference!!

Nice upgrade, Great playing and great tone. What other gear were you using?

Thanks! This was run straight into a Peavey Vypyr Tube combo amp with no board; it's the 6505 setting with built-in phaser, reverb, and delay engaged! I usually mic up the amp or run it into my PC via USB, but for this video I decided to just use the microphone on my camera. It's a criminally underrated amp and gets alot of flak for no reason. It's usually pretty cheap too. I gig with it every single weekend and it's never let me down!

Yes! The stainless is the only way to go! But don't ya gotta set the harmonics for it to be truly in tune? And could you please tell me where to get em.

You can't swap Floyd 2s where a Floyd original was or is, just a heads up, I just went through all this on a guitar. Apparently the post spacing is slightly different. I actually did a swap on an original Kramer Nightswan 25 years ago and wondered why it never worked right till I put an original Floyd back on. I also just swapped all the hardware over on a Peavey V-type Adrian Vandenberg guitar. I removed the Peavey licensed junk and ordered actual Schaller system with Schaller locking tuners, and outfitted it with Fu-tone Titanium saddle blocks and screws with the 42mm brass big block. Such a night and day difference, and very robust with the Fu-tone stuff!

What? post spacing is the same on all floyds, Im able to swap out my OFR and Floyd II seamlessly without any issues.

@helio1055 nope, some might you have to double check. I already went through this issue, it's off by 2or3mm you almost don't notice it till you setup the tremolo and it's stiff and won't stay in tune. I had the issue on my 1989 Kramer Nightswan Aztec. Went from an original Floyd Rose to a Floyd 2 and the tech noticed it. Ended up putting the original back on. I noticed the same measurement difference with a Schaller (Floyd 2 style) is the same. So I have a Floyd 2 and the Schaller that are both different from the Floyd original. All 5 of my Floyd style guitars all stay in tune and return to zero no problem. Just have to watch the stud spacing. I mentioned it to Adam at Fu-tone and he knew about it as well. Seems hit or miss, that's why you should check before you buy a new tremolo for a swap.

@helio1055 I wouldn't know the specific models, my tech was more aware of it, and I didn't know till he mentioned it and I used a caliper to measure between the 2, and they were just slightly different. However did explain why my Floyd 2 never returned to zero because it was bidding on the posts. As soon as I bought another Floyd original everything was fine again. Costly mistake for me lol. Now I measure before I buy, I just bought a new Schaller tremolo system for an old Peavey V series guitar, even the Warmoth guys had asked me about what the measurements where for the one I was replacing, witch was a shitty Peavey licensed one, but I had to measure the post spacing.

you think this could improve a FR special?

yes but mixing cheap metal with good metal might cause some issues

There are reviews about these saddles that the first two do not hold the 1st and the 2nd string well. And this is what happens in your video.

I installed them on a Jackson recently and didn't notice this. Is this just a matter of tightening the clamping block down really well?
