Woke Left Are Imploding Over Sam Kerr

- Beloved Australian soccer captain Sam Kerr (well beloved to some, the media seem to love her. Social media? Not so much), has done something a little bit naughty. She uttered some not-so-nice words to a police officer in London early last year. First of all, no matter what side of politics you’re on, whether you’re woke or anti-woke, I don’t care, but I think nobody should be cancelled, or lose their careers over something they say. We’re all human. We all make mistakes. We sometimes say stupid things. So I’m not here campaigning for Sam Kerr to lose her job.
However, she did say something that other sports stars have lost their jobs over. What did she say? Well after a big night out, she reportedly threw up in a taxi and got into an altercation with the driver over the taxi fare, presumably over the cleaning fee, so the police were called and she allegedly called the police officer a “stupid white bastard”. However, it’s being reported that Kerr herself said she didn’t say that all, she said, “stupid white cop”. Either way, the intent is the same. She called the police officer “stupid”, as well as “white”, and consequently was charged with Racially Aggravated Harassment, which she could potentially go to jail for.
This of course resulted in the Progressive Left, or the Woke Left, or whatever you want to call them, their minds collectively imploded. You see, the Progressive Left are all about criminalising language, when it suits them. They are obsessed with historical oppression and identity politics. The only things that matter to them now are race, gender, and sexuality. They no longer focus on the real problems facing poor people, but instead turn their gaze to imagined microaggressions against over-privileged university graduates. And because Sam Kerr is a person of colour (I hate that term by the way. It sounds rather racist, don’t you think?), she’s of Indian descent (noting, she’s also of Caucasian descent, but that doesn’t seem to count), she’s a lesbian (she has a Caucasian fiancée), and of course, she’s a woman, whatever that means. Nobody seems to be able to define it anymore. The point is, she ticks all the Woke Left’s boxes, so to speak. So when they heard she was charged with racism, as I said, their collective minds imploded.
Instead of calling out the racism for what it is, they instead tried to defend her. But to be fair, it is a bit hard for them to rationally support her racist comments in this instance, so what else can they do? Well they can simply change the definition of racism. For example, the Conversation are reporting: “Sam Kerr’s alleged comments may have had a racial element, but they were not ‘racist’” in quotes.
Obviously, laws should be colourblind, and should be applied equally. If Sam Kerr gets away with this, it sets an incredibly stupid and dangerous precedent.
Of course, politicians like Senator Lidia Thorpe who profit (as in benefit) from the racism industry, tweeted: “Replace all statues of captain cook with statues of Sam Kerr, our one true captain”. Basically, calling her a hero for using racist language towards a police officer.
Former Australian soccer captain Craig Foster has called on Football Australia to strip Sam Kerr of her captaincy if it is confirmed that she did indeed use racist language towards the police officer, to show how seriously the sport takes racism.
Look, I think this is the natural result of criminalising language. We get stupid situations like this. It seems like the world can’t agree what racism is. Crimes like murder are obvious. You either kill someone or you don’t. Sure, we could argue over whether it’s manslaughter, or whatever, but somebody is dead. Burglary and theft are obvious. Something has been stolen. There’s no debate. But criminalising language, as we’ve seen with this racism debate, is a very dangerous path. It’s open to abuse. Somebody says something, and then somebody claims they feel offended. How can we disprove it? Maybe we should just do away with this whole racism thing.
Even if the world decides that what Sam Kerr said wasn’t racist, it was still wrong. She is a role model. Many girls (and boys) look up to her. At the very least, she needs to apologise. She won’t, because that would be an admission of guilt. But in a perfect would, she might say, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said what I said. I was drunk, but that’s no excuse. We should be nice to one another no matter what our cultural backgrounds. Racism is racism, and I was wrong to say what I said. Please forgive me.”
Call it double standards. Call it selective outrage. Call it hypocrisy. But one thing that is crystal clear, racism is only called out by the Progressive Left when they are the victim.

Poor Sam Kerr, she's been oppressed all her life and struggles on her multi million dollar contracts. Throws up in a cab, argues with the driver over the fare (like the driver would be wrapped in cleaning up someone else's vomit) and then abuses the cop, gets charged for abusing said cop and the Left go ballistic. How dare anyone criticise a drunk, abusive Indian/Australian lesbian soccer player. Just disgraceful!

The fact that she hasn't apologised speaks volumes.
Accountability matters - assuming the justice system and the wider community have the conviction to pursue it. She committed the crime, but if society lets it go, society becomes an accessory to that crime. And the sentence it serves is increasing the incentive for racist behaviour to spread.

As a taxi driver the biggest insult was putting the driver out of work for the night. The left would have once have supported the low income taxi driver over the highly paid sports person. Not anymore!
The Left hate working people, it`s undeniable Progressives are classist in nature.
the irony is that the taxi driver was probably non white too
As a person who can read, I advise taxi drivers all the time NOT to believe what billionaire right-wing media moguls tell them. It's 'divide and conquer' tactics. They never tell you to hate the filthy rich, do they? Ever wonder why? #ClassWar
She is a multi millionaire and gives the cabbie a hard time after spewing in his cab. That tells me all I need to know about her character …….
Another bogan who's good at sports,
Regardless of the racism, she got drunk and threw up in a taxi cab, refused to compensate the driver, and abused him, and a police officer. Surely that is all we need to know for her to get punished. She should pay a big fine and lose her captaincy at a bare minimum. This is not the type of person that should be representing our country in any regard.
That's way to rational for here! You have to make this all about leftist extremism and identity politics and create a culture war because BROWN PEOPLE!!!!
If she had been white and abused a black cop the left would be apoplectic until she was fired.
Agree 100%

When visiting another country, the idea is to behave yourself and not embarrass the country you purport to represent. You are effectively an ambassador for the country you're a native of. Your behaviour reflects on the rest of us as a whole.
Kerr has failed us.
When this happened I asked my partner both of us are Anglo Australian if she thought it was racist the incident with Sam Kerr. Without even thinking she said no it isn’t, I asked why not she said she wasn’t sure but probably because the guy was white. Imagine how many people think that racism doesn’t count if it’s directed a a person who is of “white privilege” This is ingrained in society to think that only people of any other colour or race other than white can be the victim of racism.
Best of luck
When the police were called, I would have said, "Yes, officer, I'm drunk and can't apologise enough", I will pay the fee for the taxi being off the road for the loss of the drivers earnings. It's only right. She's in the wrong.
Would you have started arguing with the cabbie after having been sick? If you had just accepted the extra charge and apologised, the police wouldn't have been called out
Woke shit
I find it amusing that her defenders are pushing the 'innocent until proven guilty' line yet there's no doubt if it was a male who did this it would be all 'crucify him'.
Correct. The new standard is double standards
If they are indeed doing that it's only for now. If found guilty their chant will change. It will sound like 'patriarchy this and patriarchy that, 'the legal system is racist and sexist.'
Upon returning to Australia she will get a ticker tape parade, the Order of Australia medal, a Mardi Gras parade float and her face on a new coin. Then comes the interview with Lisa Wilkinson, book deal and Netflix bio pic.
If they didn’t have double standards they’d have no standards at all
Agreed, imagine the outcry is a straight while male called a black female a "Stupid black sop". Not only would the media and wokist members crucify him but his sport club would drop him like a hot rock. not stand by him and make excuses for public drunkenness.

I agree but looking into it all deeper.... Really what is racism?. A Black Nigerian could be racist to a Black South African. A White Englishman could be racist to a White Italian or White Greek or a White Irishman. A Chinese Asian can be racist to a Japanese Asian. Then going back further than nationality and generalizing Asian, European, African? How far back along the blood lines do we need to go before Race is blurred? You are a Black guy and I am a White guy but we are both Homo Sapiens so does that mean in Evolutionist terms we are both really the same race but we have just been separated for a very long time in our family tree? Religious Creationists also seem to think we are all the same race in the long run because we all come from the first couple that was created.

There's no room for a 'Did she or didn't she' debate here, Police officers in the UK ALL carry body cameras, so there's going to be no doubt that Kerr said EXACTLY what she has been charged with saying.. I suspect not charging her with the offence of using racist language was deliberate on the part of the extremely 'woke' British Police and she'll be let off with a caution, but that doesn't change the fact that the Captain of the Australian Women's Football team spewing up in a taxi whilst drunk, refusing to pay whatever fare was charged (presumably with a clean-up fee on top ) and then using foul and racist language to a Police officer should not be regarded as a good look for Australian Women's Football.. and indeed Australia's reputation in general..

Isnt it interesting that someone of Indian decent would even preach to others about racism which itself is a form of discrimination where caste based discrimination and racism is rife within Indian society and has been for centuries, I mean the entire societal system is based on that caste system where those in the lower castes are often blocked from access to opportunities that the privileged higher casts have. It's the height of hypocrisy for societies like that preach to others on the issue. As for Sam kerr well she simply expressed her own deep seated racist attitudes and she did so because she like many others believe they have that green light to do so and now we Football Australia help to perpetuate that idea the racism in one form ie towards whites is acceptable yet other forms of racism ie against anyone not white is not. Years ago now, the Chelsea and England captain John Terry was accused of making a "racist" comment towards another player, Anton Ferdinand, during a match. @@Reindeer_jayExactly, because she's Sam Kerr. Poor, underprivileged Sam Kerr, who knows what oppression and hardship are way more than some random cop - we know that's true because she's half Indian and he's white. Poor, poor Sam Kerr. Maybe we should start her a GoFundMe
Because of the double standards of the woke left.
I agree with Craig Foster. Get rid of the double standard. What she said was wrong. She was so drunk she spewed up. But she can remember her exact words, but a sober cop couldn't.
Yep a simple apology may have saved her from this situation
@@ozzyace71 the far left don't know how to apologise because in there mind they can do no wrong😴
So if we're using alcohol as an excuse... Then the bloke who killed apologises only remember him as Kelly kid with the one hit punch in king's Kross, should be released!?
He was on drugs or alcohol but his decisions were impacted.. just like Sam Kerr, excuses!
Clearly racism and murder are two different things completely but quite extreme when looked from a societal view!
#slipperyslope
Unfortunately, Foster has had a 180-degree change in position. He now thinks it can't have been racist, because the police officer was white, and Sam Kerr is a woman of colour. In a statement, he wrote, “Like many, I mistakenly thought that comments that references any colour and were discriminatory, demeaning or hostile were a form of racism. I apologise to Sam for that mistake."
Citing the Diversity Council of Australia’s definition of racism which references the perpetrator being in a position of “race-based societal power”, Foster said racism cannot be committed against a white person as they are not a member of a marginalised group.
He continued, “Does that equate to double standards when the same terms of phrases are used against marginalised groups, is the question. The answer is no. Because the power differential and therefore impact are vastly and fundamentally different. Those of us who aren’t from a minority background cannot possibly know how it feels to be told that we don’t belong, don’t speak the language, don’t look right, to ‘go back where you came from’ or to have faced intergenerational racism.”
Foster said definitions of racism were “not designed to protect me, as a white, Anglo, Australian male nor a white police officer who has even greater legal, and racial power. That’s because I cannot experience racism in Australia. My right to speak is not questioned, I am in the cultural, racial, and linguistic majority, aren’t attacked for my name, colour, head dress or religion as many are, and am made to feel that I have a right to belong which is why, like many of you, I am deeply committed to making sure that no other Australian faces personal, institutional or systemic racism.”
Looks like insanity has become the new sanity. Very soon (or already?), racism against white people will be normalised, and suddenly, the so-called victims will become the abusers.

Dont give being drunk an excuse
Being able to control definitions and what words mean is a true demonstration of POWER!
John Terry called Anton Ferdinand a "useless black c*nt". Given that he is each of those things individually I'm not sure what the offense was except that combining them somehow magically makes them offensive. Same in this case. Exactly the same. So same consequence applies.

The incident involving the passenger who vomited in the taxi raises important questions about accountability and fairness. Regardless of the driver's race, the passenger is responsible for covering the cost of cleaning up the mess. If she failed to do so, she should face fines or penalties accordingly. Moreover, if the passenger engaged in abusive behavior towards the taxi driver or law enforcement officer, appropriate disciplinary action should be taken against her.
It is essential to address double standards and ensure that consequences are applied consistently regardless of race or social status. Any individual, regardless of their position or background, should be held accountable for their actions. Failure to do so undermines the integrity of the sport and erodes trust in the justice system. Therefore, if the passenger's behavior is deemed unacceptable, she should face repercussions commensurate with her actions, including potential dismissal if warranted.
People who receive automatic adulation and endless forgiveness usually finish up becoming an increasing pain in the arse until eventually, even their most devoted apologists abandon them. She reminds me in some ways of GretaThunberg.
Celebrities shouldn't be exempt from laws when visiting another country.
Skin colour shouldn't exempt one from laws when visiting another country.
Gender shouldn't exempt one from laws when visiting another country.
I don't have to like the laws but when I'm in another I'm obliged to follow them.
Saying someone can't be racist because of the colour of their skin is in fact racist.
Well said and so true
I'll watch women's soccer when they can beat the under 15 Australian boys team. Otherwise, the local mens comp G division has more skill.

Australias Megan Rapeno can’t be bothered to check the spelling sorry.
Sam Kerr, a cross between Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo. For this kind of player/person, the end of the playing career usually doesn't go well. Likely no Saudi bailout either.
She's been out of the game for ages with a torn( I think) ACL. There's only so many times one can do that and keep playing. She might be out sooner than many people think. I don't know if it's her first time. But if so, the next time will be easier to tear, especially if she's targeted by an opposing team. Female sportspeople tend to not be gentle or in any way sympathetic with their opponents. They're actually quite ruthless
Well done - your analysis & commentary is spot on
If Kerr was saying it to Albo, its a statement, but to a copper she doesn't know....thats out of order...
I bet the cabbie didnt get the fare or cleaning bill paid neither..
If she is saying it to Albo she is stating the obvious.
I wouldn't care about what she said except for the hypocrisy. A man would lose his job and the media would make sure his career was destroyed. But a woman is protected from everything, That's more disgusting than Sam Kerr's vomiting in that poor man's taxi.
I spewed in a taxi last year, it cost me an extra 80 bucks, well I managed to get my head out the window. I paid, because I did it, and was in the wrong.
Not justifying vomitting and not making it right, but two wrongs don't make a right. Just because the inverted situation would be blown up doesn't mean this one should. How weak a person do you have to be to charge someone for racism for them mentioning your skin colour? Had she said "black" I genuinely think 80% of people defending her would still be defending her because it's really not that bad. The fact she was arguing after vomitting was worse than what she said
@@hnorth5205We're way beyond 2 wrongs not making a right. People have already lost their jobs and reputations over similar kinds of comments. Now it's about equality under the law, and within organisations like these. Like he said in the video, the more unevenly these rules are applied, the closer we inch toward a society where it's normalised to treat people worse (even within the law) based on their race or gender... Going back to a new version of the very situation we have been working so hard to leave and improve upon for decades. The more we all sit back and say it doesn't matter, the worse it will get.
I do agree that ideally she would just apologise, maybe pay a small fine for any trouble she caused, and we'd all move on. But that's not the world we've been living in for the last 15 years, and I don't want to see her get off unless we retroactively address all the other people who've suffered disgrace and discharge over similar behaviour.
@@aerialpunk look great points and I agree if nothing else changes how the reverse is treated then this should be the same. This is what was written in the age this week
Owing to the complete lack of historical or systematic disempowerment of white people, it is not self-evident that Kerr’s comment (if she did, in fact, say it) demonstrates a hostility towards the police officer because they were white. It is hard to imagine, given her position and her partially English background, that Kerr bears hostility towards white people generally. It seems more likely that Kerr felt she was being harassed based on her colour (she has Indian ancestry also) and responded in kind.
Written by a Barrister. Can be white when convenient then Indian in the next breath. Literal mental Gymnastics
A white bloke i know worked with an Indian. He did 95% of the work, the Indian was constantly found sleeping, ignoring everyday tasks, and the clients didn’t like talking to him cause he was hard to understand. He also had some questionable personal habits.
When the white bloke showed evidence of this to management, instead of them address the issue and talking to the other bloke, they just to the white employee to pull his head in if he wanted to keep his job.
Yet I’ve seen white employees sacked for far less. If thats not racism…
Exactly how foreign truck drivers are too. Lazy and disinterested in work, and constantly on the phone
Nice made up story. Doesn't even sound remotely real. The only people who get away with not working and still earning a pay check are managers, because they don't have the oversight to stop them getting away with that. I don't care what race or ethnicity you are, if you're literally sleeping on the job, ignoring your work duties AND having customers complain about you, you WILL be fired. I don't even understand why people make up such unbelievable lies. I've worked with lazy people of just about any ethnic group you can imagine over the last 20 years, and the one thing they all had in common is they got fired for being lazy.
Most of the Indian people in Australia and England are from the higher "castes" in India. India has a full on class system made up of "castes." It's why most of the Indian people in Australia and England have a university degrees or successful businesses. You don't see many in construction, because those jobs are usually carried out by the lower castes. I've shared houses with Indians and they had a real aversion to getting their hands dirty. They worked hard at their jobs, cooked great food at home, but they really avoided certain jobs in the house. It's the system they grew up with.
@@lesflynn4455 well if staying awake at work is beneath them they can go back.
I was working with an indian bloke once. He was very slack and disinterested in his job, i told him to watch out the boss makes random checks. So this prick is taking up a position and squandering it while unemployed locals can’t find work! I think that stinks.
