This is an easy to follow guide that uses Citadel products to achieve fantastic looking miniatures, even if you’re new to the hobby.

I've been painting my own Leviathan Tyranids recently. I'm a huge fan of how the studio have approached the hive fleet for this edition. so many variations in the colours of carapace. its not just copy and past across all the miniatures :) I hope you enjoy painting your own Tyranids :D
I just want to say thank you for all your effort.
I (and many others I’m sure) see the finished product in the thumbnail and think ‘I could never paint like that,’ but then leave the video feeling as tho it will be a piece of cake.

@@TableTopReadyCZcams oh! Also I’m sure you don’t make videos based off the recommendation of a single person, but a great next tutorial for Tyranids would be the Screamer Killer. I’ve been so scared to start mine and I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather get a tutorial from. Thanks either way!🙂
Don't be intimidated by the screamer killer. its a very plain miniature with very few details. its as less details than a guant ha its just the size thats scary. Break it down into its components, start with the skin. I've shown how to do that plent now :) and then the crapace. simple. write the steps down and plan it. I just don't think I can add anything new paintin a screamer killer. I will be painting a Norn Emissary though :D

one of the things I never really thought was going to happen was how much my paintng was going to improve making these tutorials. its actually more of a side effect and proof that practice and consistancy is what helps you improve :D

brilliant. good job on the guants :D this neurotyrant is a bit ore of a challenge but if you can paint this guy then you can paint any Tyranid in my opinion

I would love for you to teach us to paint other Hive Fleets some time, there's like a lot of Leviathan and Ultramarines tutorials on the channel.
Its something I'm tinking of doing, so probably in the future when I've figured out how I want to do it :)

I would love your input on adding black slug , ooze, tar as nurgle bits on a death guard palid hand scheme
It depends on how you want to achieve that effect. we always have to be careful when doing these extra details because that can over power the miniature. if you didn't want to incorparate on the miniature you could always use that to theme the bases. Think about why it wold be there and where it would be, rather than just slapping it on. you want to create a story with yoru miniatures.

This is a great video. How did you manage to connect to the brain part to the carapace after you had finished painting? I can't find an angle that works!
I'm guessing you left the front of the carapace un glued? I did a little trouble but it does clip in there, I just spent a little time lining things up. I did have to touch up some areas after I may have scratched :P but its still better than if I had tried to paint it fully assembled

Im curious, is there any way to speed this process up with an airbrush? I love the colors but im currently trying to experiment with the skin, trying to get a more pale color with more red than pink and im wondering how i can use my airbrush to speed up painting my army besides priming and base coating. Thanks!
Hey. I'm glad your enjoying the Tyranid videos :D hmmm airbrushes are tricky if you want to get this much detail. Honestly I'm personaly not able to match the same level with an airbrush as I can brush painting. Its a different style.
This is great 😊. I do find GW washes to be too glossy. I'm going to use this to do mine.
I'm glad you like the content :) I agree about the washes but they do become less glossy over time as I guess it fully dries

Would you do a tutorial on how to paint a Norn Assimilator at some point? I would love to know how to paint bigger models and would love to know how to paint that dark carapace :)
Its very likely that I will do a norn emissary in the future. the dark carapace i would actually do the same as the neurotyrant
I'm thinking about mixing your way of painting with some contrast paints. FOr example frostheart for mind. What do you think about that? BTW, wouldn't it be nice to make some video about brushes? Technics how to take care of them, so they can be reused more. For example should I leave them in water after painting is finished? What can I use to remove old paints? Isoprophylen alcohol? Great techinics. I really enjoy watching your movies.
Thank you very much. I actually use contrast paints more for my own stuff. I always find all you need to do with contrast is some simple highlight to bring out the details and your done. it doesn't have to be as complicated or step eavy. just pick the most appropriate colour, or even mix your own and then highlight.

Great video! But I wanna ask why you only ever seem to use Citadel paints, instead of more... user friendly brands like army painter or Vallejo?
I prefer using Citedal, for me they're the best range of paints for miniatures. I'm not sure what makes a paint more user friendly? I really do like vallejo though and they are my second choice . Honestly though it really doesn't matter want range of paints you want to use you can still achieve the same results :) you can use a conversion chart.
