I wish Arkansas would use this more often. Some of those off road highways are rough as hell. Would be fun to run one someday
This is a process used to stabilize the base of a project. No use in paving right over something has all those cracks in it water will come right thru and wreck new asphalt easily unless the base course is given a shake stir turn and re laid for the finish course of asphalt. Sometimes in really wet base they throw in some flyash to dry it up or lime to make it more resistant to natures way.

This is a Soil Mixture machine. Not a mill. Although it can be used to mill.

What's the next step and what other equipment and additives are required to complete resurfacing process? And is it an instant fix or do you have to come back the next day?
what we do is mill the road up in 800 meter sections, get a grader to grade it all out and then you roll it and its good to be oiled and paved over in a few lifts.
If it was up to me I would install a expanding asphalt set up on it and grind and inject expanding asphalt at same time followed by a compactor and a grader.... your done!!

Yes, chews up the asphalt and normally some of the old roadbed. It makes an incredible base for a new road.

Chunk city. The operator needed to either slow down to at least 12 feet a min or pick up the drum and not bring so much product up; hence the chunks.
Mine it's a 2500. 3045 hrs on it. Had it since brand new with only 152 hrs.
