This is eerily similar to how the worst aviation disaster at Tenerife in 1977 played out...
Just like here, there was a PanAm 747 trailing behind a KLM 747 and the KLM reached the end of the runway and turned around for a takeoff. Unfortunately the PanAm was till taxing in the runway( just like it's shown here in the video) and didn't get out of the way in time, due to heavy fog the aircraft couldn't see each other and they collided on the runway resulting in the deadliest air crash in history.
This particular video just reminded me of that scenario.

Stopping an airplane requires the same amount of energy to get it up to said speed. If it used more than half of the runway, they wouldn't be able to safety reject a takeoff. Especially considering engines put out more energy than brakes dissipate, meaning you need more runway to stop than take off.

Yeah, it was definitely short but I suspect Depth of Field has also added to the overall effect. I’d love to go there; just to watch the aircraft!

Exactly, probably just a normal takeoff. We need to see more takeoffs from this view to determine what is normal.

Well, actually all telephotos will foreshorten the view. How good the image is dependent on the quality.

Shows what having a 50% load (or less) does to performance. Likely had to reduce the throttles shortly after takeoff to keep the climb angle comfortable for the pax.

This is one of those occasions where the pilots are allowed to push the engines over 9000😂 to get as much of a boost as they can on a short ass runway

Based upon the runway markings, the rollout is probably about 2800 feet to main wheels off the ground. Not bad for a plane that size. regardless of the load. That being said, I'd love to see the 757 that followed him on taxing out depart with an equivalent load.

Amazing Video, since it gave the impression of a short take off which is not, due to a sight illusion impact caused by both heading camera and from far distance recording, it took 27 Seconds to leave the ground from rallying start time, heavier one ,i.e. airbus A 350 normally needs round 22 second only to leave the ground😉.

They also put a light fuel load at this airport as there are mountains to clear along with the short runway. They take on more fuel later. A full load of fuel would make that kind of takeoff impossible

The reason the take off run was so sjort is because the flights next stop is Curacao not Amsterdam. The aircraft would bever make it off the ground with the fuel for a return trip to Amsterdam. The aircraft would be to heavy so they comcbine a 2 destiation flight into 1 trip. Cracao is not that far so fuel load is minimal . When KLM used the B747 it was even more impressive.
