  • Rumors say that you can't check the oil on the E90 BMWs. It doesn't have a regular dip stick but an electronical one. You can check it via the on board computer wich is operated by the rocker and button on the indicator stalk. You can even check it while driving. The computer will also warn you about a low oil level before you run out and even tells you how much oil to add. Very convenient for the driver!
    Unfortionately not so convenient for DIY mechanics. Though it's more of a nuisance than a disaster.
    And yes, my camera sucks at video.

      +Janelle Nez Don't worry. If its a newer BMW it's gonna tell you everything that has to be done.
      But I would recommend more frequent oil changes than what dealers tell you.

    Bro, don't use Biltema oil and then say its high quality! My old car overheated because of their "high" quality oil.
    But nice video!

      OscarWithC Because it was diagnosed with it... The oil couldn't lubricate it!
      We have changed the oil and havent had any problems at all.

    Use a funnel if you are so sloppy pouring things.

    Got a pre purchase inspection done said I just needed oil and a brake flush, I checked my oil level (2008 e90), says its at max... It does show the oil at yellow.

    Do you always have the option to check the oil level or only when you get a warning that its low?

    • @sedsberg77
      @sedsberg77  Před 8 lety

      +Dovydas Lesevicius You can check it anytime you want. But you need a warm engine to get an accurate result.

    sloppy job, this made me cringe. Letting that oil drop down under the engine cover is a recipe for disaster.

    • @sedsberg77
      @sedsberg77  Před 5 lety +1

      It's a BMW. It's gonna leak oil everywhere anyway.

    • @kiemyster420
      @kiemyster420 Před 5 lety

      Svein Erik Edsberg that's retarded. I have 6 bmw e90s and have no such problems. Change gaskets when they go and degrease the engine after any work. When oil and lubricants get elsewhere it shortens the lifespan of parts it comes in contact with. Great example is you wouldn't want that oil to run off and down onto your belts.
