Penelope shouldn’t be apologizing to Eloise. Yes, maybe Penelope shouldn’t have did what she did, but it wasn’t like she could show favoritism to the Bridgertons as Lady Whistledown without the game away from the very beginning. It wasn’t personal- it was business. I think that Penelope should just let the past go and put her friendship with Eloise in the past because clearly these two are never going to see eye to eye since due to her family name Eloise is just being entitled and by contrast Penelope has basically had to work for everything she’s ever gotten because everyone underestimates her. The only reason they were friends is because they were both exiles in their own way. It wasn’t really a friendship so much as it was being lonely together. Not to mention the fact that Eloise was full of admiration and praise for lady whistledown right up until it involved her and her family and she got a taste of what everyone else felt and couldn’t stomach it. That bridge has been burned and will likely never truly be rebuilt regardless of what happens with Colin. I also think that Penelope would be better off writing off the Bridgerton family entirely even though I know it’s not gonna happen.
