Fr. Terry... "Now some Christians have wondered if all this modern talk of charisms is actually authentic. If this is really something of God, if it is real, so I want to show you through the Scriptures and the teaching of the Catholic Church, this time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is from God."

I believe in what he said because I have personal experience with what he preached. Unfortunately, many of the traditional Catholics especially in the curia did not see the importance of the charismatic movement that is why many of their parishioners jumped fence into pentecostal and evangelical churches.

Fr., what a wonderful Bible study on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I am currently in a Life in the Spirit seminar at my parish. This is so helpful to me for my up coming Baptism. Thank you, and God bless your ministry. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

If this is so important so central to the life of a Christian to be fully Christian by "unleashing" the grace already in us, then why wasn't this central to the teaching of the ,hurch. I mean if it actually makes us experience the Christian life why wouldn't it be taught for 2000 years. why isn't a sacrament? and where did this term "blocked" graces in the person come from? This is a novel idea that has never been taught in the Church. The fact is you are taking terms and experiences of the scriptures and twisting them to fit your theology. baptism in the Holy Spirit is confirmation. Unleashing the gifts of the Holy Spirit is an act of faith working through your I intellectual ascent to the mind of God and motivating your will to perform the acts of mercy, penance and prayer. This is utter heresy. If the Charismatic movement is so important then why has the growth of the Church gone down over the past 40 years. You use thia term this time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as if the Holy Spirit has been blocked from working in Catholics. Sanctifying grace is what saves the soul. Charisms are true and real and have always been poured out into the faithful.

Traditionalist Jews could not recognize Christ, just as traditionalist Catholics could not recognize the day of Christ. Christ, on the other hand, fought against all forms of traditionalism. Because no one knows where the soul comes from and where it goes. And traditionalists (whoever they may be) think they know everything.

Unbelievable conceit and no one condems this Gnosticism. The gall to force Catholic theology and piety together with Pentacostalism is breathtaking.

Liam De Wet it has no relation to Gnostic theology whatsoever. St John-Paul II loved charismatic Catholics. Why? Because they take the supernatural very seriously. Charismatic Catholics love Jesus in the sacraments as well as in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
