Using Gliscor in renegade platinum (where it CAN learn fly) has been a blast. Its so good. Only drawback is the shared 4x weakness to Ice if you've gone Turtwig.
When you mentioned how hard it used to be to get trade evolutions dude I felt that XD I remember holding a lot of them in really high almost legendary level esteem
Get a female scizors and name it rose, I've used the same stupid scizor setup in almost all my playthroughs, and I'm so proud of my garden of roses ahahaha they're up and they will not disappoint you, trust me! You can get scyther after you get your gift mythical and access to breeding in the grass, metal coat after steel type gym
You also need to consider at which point in the game you can acquire them. The reason Staraptor and Luxray are used so much is their basic forms are available at the beginning of the game. That said, I really like your list. I only played through Diamond once, so I have lots of options to mix it up this time.
Any chance you can create some “how to” videos when the games come out? How to get spiritomb, how to evolve the eeveelutions, which Pokémon are trade evolutions etc?
I think he was just trying to help us get more out of the remakes by encouraging us to use different Pokemon so it's not 100% the same as the old game.

I've always been die hard over Pearl, but I may just be going Brilliant Diamond considering the legendary slate selections on the roster. I get both so I don’t have to choose. One I play story on & try to fill the dex. & on the other I’ll do nuzlocke challenges & other challenges. Right now I’m finishing up a challenge on Shield where I play with the first 6 Pokémon I get through wonder trade.
I'm one of the legendary few who used a Spiritomb on my first playthrough - my sister and I discovered that talking to each other 32 times did the trick. I'm thinking I'm gonna use a Honchkrow this time around.

Since I enjoy new evolutions, but Eevee is in the Platinum Pokédex, and I only want to use Diamond and Pearl Pokédex Pokémon (unless there are new Mega evolutions), I’ll use Mr. Rime in my team. And yes I’ll use Rapidash, for Ponyta is not bad with patience and the new eviolite. My list is: 1. Turtwig -> Grotle -> Torterra 2. Manaphy 3. Bidoof -> Bibarel or Ditto 4. Pachirisu or Mime jr -> Mr. Mime -> Mr. Rime 5. Happiny -> Chansey -> Blissey or Phione Before legendary 6. Palkia (Also Bibarel shouldn’t get double edge, it should get rock climb).
I think it's a totally solid point, 90% of us are here because of the remake and played it when we were younger so experiencing it in a whole new way and totally different team would feel fresh

I love stuff like these, I played pokemon when I was a kid and got back to it during lockdown, at first I played using the better known mons (Charizard, lucario, most if the ones you mentioned in your other video), but now I'm replaying through some games and I'm forcing myself to use new mons and ones I wouldn't usually give a chance and it's SOOO much fun
Have you done a nuzlocke, its a great way to use new pokemon Basic rules: 1. Only catch 1st pokemon you see on each route 2. If a pokemon faints it goes into a cemtery box. 3. Try not to over level the gym leader. Other rules/exceptions 1.Dupes clause: if you have that pokemon or one in its evolution line you can skip the encounter. 2. Shiny clause: any and all shiny can be caught. Note: I personally use any shinies I find in a nuzlocke, I just box whatever encounter was on that route if I had one.

With these remakes I want to use Pokemon I've never used before. Ever. So I'm going to try Yanmega, Honchkrow, and Leafeon(now that we're in gen 8 it should be easier/nicer to use). Plus other Pokemon you didn't list here.
I’ve always really liked milotic and wanted to use it on a team but never been patient to get it. I hope there’s an easier way for me to get it this game or just I have more patience
Yanmega is super underated, base 116 Sp. Attack, and with speed boost, absolute monster Got some decent coverage with Ancient Power, Giga Drain and Shadow Ball

I get what you are saying about not using common ones...but for me, this a chance to revisit Gen 4 and use Pokemon that I rarely bother with anymore. I have not used Staraptor in a long time. I have not used a Luxray in a long time, or Garchmop, or the Sinnoh starters, or Buizel or all the other ones you "hate" (I know you don't actually hate them, just being facetious lol). It makes sense for me to use some of my favorite Gen 4 Pokemon that I haven't touched since Platinum.
I may wanna use mr. mime for the fairy typing and a bastiodon. I need a fairy type to deal with cynthia’s spiritomb. Another Pokémon thats a pain the shell to take on
simple on bibarel is fun and all, as long as you can play around the minus 2 attack you get from intimidate and the other stat dropping moves the AI like to use.
That's accurate. Bug types are my favorite type and a lot of people genuinely believe. Oh it's a bug type so it's automatically bad. Since it's not a fire, dragon, or fairy type then its automatically bad. 😂 and froslass is one of my favorite Pokémon ever.
Honchkrow is my favourite flying type to use in normal Diamond and can confirm it's a solid pokemon. I look forward to being able to use Leafeon properly in Brilliant Diamond. It's one of my favourite eeveelutions, but it's hen 4 learnset wasn't good. It was a lot more usable in B2W2, so I'm hoping it will be a good Sinnoh team member this time around

10:57 it's because in the original DP games you can't get Eevee before you beat the league unless you trade from another game or used cheat codes in platinum they made Eevee more accessible as a gift Pokemon before you take on Fantinas gym but even then the ice rock wasn't available until you have 6 badges
To those that were mad about it he makes a great point. I saw that video and at first may have had some Pokémon to argue should still be used. But as games are rapidly approaching this coming week and I was deciding on what Pokémon I could use those thoughts changed. This new video showed a few Pokémon I actually considered using as I began thinking of new BDSP teams. It would not make sense to use the exact same teams from the original Diamond and Pearl games with how many options the remakes gave us. Learnset changes, stat buffs, and hidden abilities pretty much had me sold on the Pokémon I will be using in my playthroughs that I had not considered back then.
The Team I plan to use Torterra (Back in the DPPt Days, I didn't like Torterra, so I've always used the other two, so I want to give it a try) Vaporeon (I didn't use on previous Sinnoh playtrough) Gallade (Same as Vaporeon) Togekiss (Same as Vaporeon, also gonna be my fire type coverage) Scizor (My only expirence with Scizor is in Pixelmon) Drapion (Never used one before)
My team was different but I had a pokemon friend group as a kid. We'd help each other by trading and we'd always be trying to make new teams and battle on pokemon battle revolution. My usual team was Palkia, Empoleon, Garchomp, Alakazam, Gengar, and Lucario. Sometimes, I'd make room for Heatran later on in a playthrough.
One thing about Bastiodon, it doesnt have access to Toxic in BDSP so its stalling ability is lessened. It also loses access to Magic Coat sadly. Also lots of flying mons like Togekiss and Honchkrow do not get access to Heatwave anymore in BDSP. Its important to keep in mind TMs are pretty similar to DPs list and there are no move tutors beyond the tutors for the starters.
You can just talk to the same person over and over again 32 times. You just have to dig back out and in the underground. I had a spiritomb on my 3th playthrough of the gen 4 games back in the day
I've seen quite a few leakers and data miners saying that Rotom can't be used until the post game. It sucks because I actually planned to use a rotom! It's one of my favorite pokemon and I was disappointed it couldn't be accessed as soon as you got cut like in platinum
I score your team, 7/10. Garchomp is overrated and while Scyther will be Brilliant Diamond exclusive, it’s not impressive when the move tutors aren’t there for Bug Bite and Bullet Punch. Plus trade evolutions are hard to get. I don’t like Infernape either but I know it’s the best Fire type in the game so I won’t judge that. Milotic is okay despite being from Hoenn due to Sinnoh also having the Beauty stat evolution method. Finally someone is going to use Drifblim (a flying type that’s not Staraptor) and an electric type that’s not Luxray.

Bronzong is also an extremely valuable tank. It is immune to ground and poison and resists like 9 types
8 type resistances and either avoids Ground or makes Fire moves neutral.

Just played platinum. My team was infernape hippowdon drifblim floatzel licklicky weavile. I hadnt used any of them before and found it more enjoyable

with the addition of Quiver dance sticky web they can wreck. Dont take bug types lightly. They have been buffed alot in recent gens.

But as games are rapidly approaching this coming week and I was deciding on what Pokémon I could use those thoughts changed. This new video showed a few Pokémon I actually considered using as I began thinking of new BDSP teams. It would not make sense to use the exact same teams from the original Diamond and Pearl games with how many options the remakes gave us. Learnset changes, stat buffs, and hidden abilities pretty much had me sold on the Pokémon I will be using in my playthroughs that I had not considered back then.

Diamonds was the first Pokémon game I owned and am happy they are doing a remake

Torterra (Back in the DPPt Days, I didn't like Torterra, so I've always used the other two, so I want to give it a try)
Vaporeon (I didn't use on previous Sinnoh playtrough)
Gallade (Same as Vaporeon)
Togekiss (Same as Vaporeon, also gonna be my fire type coverage)
Scizor (My only expirence with Scizor is in Pixelmon)
Drapion (Never used one before)

My team was different but I had a pokemon friend group as a kid.
We'd help each other by trading and we'd always be trying to make new teams and battle on pokemon battle revolution.
My usual team was Palkia, Empoleon, Garchomp, Alakazam, Gengar, and Lucario.
Sometimes, I'd make room for Heatran later on in a playthrough.

One thing about Bastiodon, it doesnt have access to Toxic in BDSP so its stalling ability is lessened. It also loses access to Magic Coat sadly.
Also lots of flying mons like Togekiss and Honchkrow do not get access to Heatwave anymore in BDSP.
Its important to keep in mind TMs are pretty similar to DPs list and there are no move tutors beyond the tutors for the starters.

You can just talk to the same person over and over again 32 times. You just have to dig back out and in the underground. I had a spiritomb on my 3th playthrough of the gen 4 games back in the day
Starly and shinx are available very early, which is why they are so often used
I've seen quite a few leakers and data miners saying that Rotom can't be used until the post game. It sucks because I actually planned to use a rotom! It's one of my favorite pokemon and I was disappointed it couldn't be accessed as soon as you got cut like in platinum
Spiritomb is mostly the only 1 of the 15 pokemon on your list that I might use if I decide to give this game a chance.

I score your team, 7/10. Garchomp is overrated and while Scyther will be Brilliant Diamond exclusive, it’s not impressive when the move tutors aren’t there for Bug Bite and Bullet Punch. Plus trade evolutions are hard to get. I don’t like Infernape either but I know it’s the best Fire type in the game so I won’t judge that. Milotic is okay despite being from Hoenn due to Sinnoh also having the Beauty stat evolution method. Finally someone is going to use Drifblim (a flying type that’s not Staraptor) and an electric type that’s not Luxray.
