One of the most excellent discussions and teaching I have had related to this topic. Well done....
Thanks so much. We're trying! Really appreciate you watching and commenting!
I am a pediatric resident and this is the most helpful and well explained video i have seen about PPHN; especially the Pre and post-ductal saturation. Thank you so much Dr Tala, Greatings from Egypt❤️
Hi Ahmad (or rather Dr. Mamdouh). We're so glad it was informative: it is not an easy concept to grasp, so I'm impressed you're committing to sucking it all in during residency. Please let us know if there's anything else you'd like us to film? Shukran!
Dr. Tala, you are truly wonderful. Please do not stop this teaching, it is wonderful! You have helped me immensely with these videos! Greetings from Romania! P.S: In a week, I will have my specialty exam and what I have watched from you will certainly be very helpful to me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! 🙏🏻
You are amazing ! I am convinced that you are an extraordinary doctor! I send you heartfelt hugs! 🤗
Thank you! What lovely compliments! So happy you are watching from Romania- we wish you luck and strength for your upcoming exam. (I think that the mere fact that you're looking to reinforce your education in other ways is super impressive, and you'll be great!)
Im a NICU nurse and I have never seen anyone deacribe this so well! I have been using Dr. Tala's videos to study for the neonatal CCRN. She does a great job of breaking down complex concepts so you can understand them.
Oh Nicole- needed your comment today!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write! We were tired over here so it’s so lovely to get such great positive reinforcement! Really thank you!!!!
This is the first time I have seen a demonstration of a heart using a square illustration. It is actually a lot easier to understand. The way she describes and explains everything clearly and simple is just remarkable.
Hello! Thank you so much for your lovely comment! So glad you find it easy to understand this way. Thank you for being here!
Hi, Dr Tala. I am a neonatal nurse from Hong Kong whom is now working for an NGO in Bangladesh for both hosts and refugees. I have been watching your videos every day since a few weeks ago since they are informative, easy to understand and very practical, it's incredible how you made some difficult medical concepts/ knowledge so easy and fun to understand. I was watching some other youtube channels about paediatrics before but your channel is my absolute favourite😊 love the way you teach and how cheerful you look all the time, also you are replying every comment patiently. You are definitely a great teacher and I cannot thank you and your team enough for making such amazing free videos for everyone to learn at home🙏 I will continue to follow and support your channel, as well as recommending your videos to nurses and doctors here in Bangladesh (I am a staff trainer here). I am still catching up on your old videos but if there are some new topics I would like to suggest I will let you know☺️ I am looking forward to your new videos. Thank you again and hope you are having a good day.
PS I am commenting on this video because I never fully understood PPHN until I watched this.
This was one of the nicest notes we’ve ever received! Thank you so much! For all of it! Watching the videos and taking the time to write such lovely comments! We’re so touched!!!! Everything you touched upon is what we’ve been trying so hard to achieve- so it all means even more! Thank you for your support- and impressed with your efforts to further your education!!! And please let us know what videos you’d like next!!! Always open to suggestions!!! Xx
Love love love your lectures. I’ve been a NICU nurse for 19 years and I always learn something from you! Wish all neos would share their knowledge with the nurses like this. Would make for stronger/better units.
What a lovely comment Lucy!! 19 years - go you! Also so so happy that you feel like you’re still learning something! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write! We’re all so busy in unit so it’s been really nice to have this way of educating on a larger scale. But I agree- even little pearls from different members of the team help xxx
Great lecturer! One of the only videos I’ve been able to find for peds that I don’t get bored midway through. Thanks for this.
Ha! That's a massive compliment- although I think that may be secondary to the interesting (and clinically applicable) subject matter rather than than the lecture itself- but thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Thank you Dr Tala for your efforts to sharing your comprehensive knowledges. Kind Regards.
These videos are soooo fn lifesaving!! Im a new grad with little resources specific to NICU and these are just amazing!! Thank you!!
Oh thank you thank you! That makes us SOOOO happy! And congrats on your new role!!!
The best class of PPHTN I’ve ever had! Thank you sooo much for posting!
Thank you so much Carla for watching and for your lovely comment! We're so glad you're here!
Thank you! Your a great educator! I'm taking it all in and learning more and more!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're glad to know it's helping!

Thank you! Incredible video, invaluable to my career. Pitched at the perfect level for a Paediatric Resident
Thank you so much Dr. Nathan. We really appreciate you watching and commenting! We hope you enjoy your NICU rotations!
Excellent video! Thank you so much Tala, Arianna, and Justin. I am a NICU nurse and also in school to become a nurse educator. All of your videos and lecture content are so well done and inspire me in my future role as a nurse educator in the NICU. Keep up the excellent work - you are helping so many! Thanks again.
Thank you so much Caroline- that means so much coming from a NICU nurse and soon to be educator! Also thank you for acknowledging Arianna and Justin in this process- as you well know from your time in the NICU, every tiny thing we do is a massive team effort! Different aspects fall more heavily on different members of the team each moment! Let us know if you have any suggestions or advice for us! Thank you again!
Thank you for great in depth knowledge, but in a simplistic way that is relatable!
Wow Stuart! Thanks for the lovely compliments!!!
You really make my day with these teachings, thank you
You made our day with your comment :)
I can see why this is the most watched video in this channel. Brilliant lecture! I never thought I would learn so much from a square heart! 😅 PPHN has been one of the conditions that always gets me confused. Now I can confidently say I get it now and I can explain it to others as well. I have learned SO MUCH from this. Thank you Dr. Tala and your team! 😊
Hello and thank you again so much BabyBecs :) I love those square hearts too! Impressed how you've been plodding through these videos- and so happy you feel you're learning!!
Starting as a neonatal & pediatric grad respiratory therapist, and find your videos extremely helpful. Thank you!
Oh so happy they’re helpful/ and also so impressed you’re watching them- thank you!
You're capable of picking whatever difficult subject to and make it much easier to understand. Good teaching is truly a form of art.

Thanks Ashley!! We're like barely hanging on with this channel! ha! And I think Id chat endlessly forever (I have to mostly script these, otherwise I go down so many rabbit holes!!). Thank you for the lovely compliment! In the meantime- would recommend the Incubator podcast- i love that one!
Excellent talk, very helpful for understanding PPHN and use of echo! I will forward this to my trainees
Thanks so much. I'm assuming you're more on the cards side so thanks for validation with echo stuff! Appreciate you watching!
You are such a great educator! On my last semester of nursing school and you delivered a better lecture than all of the professors I had throughout the program.

Thank you so much Namgyal, for watching and for sending us positive feedback :)
Wow wow wow. Thank you Doc
Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to comment :)
Dr. Tala you have a gift for teaching! This was so helpful! I had a patient this past weekend (I'm a student nurse in my last semester, precepting in the NICU) with PPHN, and so many words were thrown around that I didn't know the implications of. I feel like I have a solid grasp on her case now. It's so amazing to me to see how PPHN affects the entire body & to now understand the neonatologist's general thought process when deciding treatment. Thank you!!!
Hi Trisha- thanks so much for your lovely comment and your compliments. SO HAPPY that you feel like this filled the gaps- thank you so much for taking the time to write and for subscribing :)
Thank you very much this is an amazing explanation!!!
So glad it helped!! Thanks for watching and commenting :)

NICU nurse here, this was AMAZING, thank you so much!
Oh so happy you think so! Thanks SO much for taking time to comment
You're the best. You have a gift for teaching. Working in a NICU.... Without an internship has been difficult at times. Your lectures provide the classroom education that I have missed. Thank you so
very much
Hello Suzy! I can't imagine what it must be like to get thrown in like that- so REALLY well done you for persevering and trying to make up the eduction anyway possible! This pandemic has had so many effects that we all didn't even anticipate when it started- so it's great to see everyone make the best out of a really sad situation. We hope you love it as much as we do!! And let us know if there's anything in particular that may be helpful to a relatively new NICU nurse. (We're thinking of starting a more symptoms based series- like- your baby has green emesis- what do you do next? type thing)....Anyway- thanks so much for watching and for your lovely words!
Thankyou so much! So very well explained, great presenter and I found the diagrams perfect :)
Thank you so much for watching! And for thinking my very unartistic diagrams are perfect!! ha!
Wow - incredibly clear and structured in explaining the topic to those not in medicine as well!! Thank you for this video
SO impressed you're watching this and you're not in medicine!!! Although that could be the best compliment ever! Thank you so much :)

So glad it helped! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
Thank you so much for all the videos, especially this one, I have watched it many times and it is really helpful and clear.
If I may, I am having difficulties in understanding the pathophysiology of TOPS (twin oligoamnios polyhydramnios sequence), especially the neonathology consequences. I don t know if it was already specified by someone else, but I think it will help a lot of people with the approach after birth for this particular case.
Thank you very much for all the work that you do, I am a neonates resident from Romania who practices in France and I can tell you that it is a relief to watch you and truly understand the pathophysiology.
Hello Dr. Pasat- so happy that these videos are helping at all! Going over the pathophysiology of TOPS (TTTS) is a great idea. We'll try to get that out sooner rather than later- thank you SO much for the suggestion- and it wasn't on our list! (Also- ps your English is exceptional! Romanian, French and an English understanding of medical terms is truly remarkable!!)
Wonderful video Dr.Tala. So easy to understand and apply during my NICU
So glad you found it helpful! Thank you for taking the time to let us know :)
Thank you for saving my time to read protocol, really good and complete explanation!
Ha! Glad it saved you time and thank you so much for writing in. I'm sure there's a lot more to learn in the protocol though!! Thanks so much for being here!

I'm so glad you liked it Hali! Thanks for your support!
Thank you for the wonderful lecture!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
THANK YOU! Great work! I am on first week of pediatrics rotation in 3rd year clerkships, this has been incredibly helpful to develop my understanding of PPHN. Wow! This was also FUN to watch, I really enjoyed learning from this video and it was so energetic and highly relevant throughout. I was just memorizing before but now I have a much better and more vibrant understanding. Also really enjoyed the Tetralogy lecture. Whew, excited for more!
What a lovely lovely comment- thank you SO much! Literally no better feeling than helping someone have fun while learning -and truly understanding- not just memorizing. (Even if using the word fun loosely! ha!). Another viewer asked us about pediatric youtube channels we'd recommend, and I didn't really know what to say. Would you have any recommendations for them you've used in medical school?
@@TalaTalksNICU Serious fun! And therapeutic bc I had these concepts loose and disorganized floating and fading in my brain, it feels so good to have a better understanding after watching your lectures! It seems like you've really tried experimenting and explaining this in different ways to see what makes the most sense to patients and your students. This is creme de la creme! Makes me want to go into peds! I only wish I could slow down time to have time watch all your videos and be more ready for rounds!
I don't know of any other peds specific youtube channels, but I do find it fruitful to watch Emma Holliday and Divine Anatomy's Peds content, and Dr. High Yield's as well.
