Use any IR Remote w/ WLED

  • The new Dig2go Controller comes with an IR receiver, but how do we unlock this magical power? First you need to get an IR Remote. I got a pair of 44 Key Remotes from Amazon for pretty cheap:
    amzn.to/43qWpz1
    The configuration for this Remote is already pre-loaded into the latest version of WLED. Select it from the dorpdown and you're in business. But, there are other ways to do even More with IR remotes. There are json files available for all the most common LED IR Remotes. You can grab any one of those files modify it if you want to, and upload it to your Dig2go. Those files are available here:
    kno.wled.ge/in...
    The formatting you need to set your own "cmd" is found on this page: HTTP Request API

      I realize this is 11 months later, but figure I would mention a possible workaround. You could setup 2 controllers. One with the IR module, and the one you already have in your garage. Using the Sync functions you could have the IR controller function as a transmitter for your controller in the garage.

    Really enjoy your videos, got my permanent holiday lights set up for christmas 2022 from all the useful info on your channel. I have an issue and am curious if you have had a similar issue or maybe even resolved the issue. Im using Alling WS2811 12v leds, esp32 controller, line level shifter, 12v 50amp 600 watt power supply, and a 12v to 5v transformer for the power to the ESP32. First christmas season, no failures. Fast forward to july not even a full year later, I have probably had 16-23 individual pixel failures (changing 2 pixels per failure). This is really eating my lunch trying to understand why. Hoping you have some insight, thanks in advance!

    • @DrZzs
      @DrZzs  Před rokem +1

      Could just be a bad batch of pixels. Might be voltage fluctuation from the power supply. Might be moisture getting past the epoxy that's supposed to seal the pixels. Wish I had a more precise answer for you. Sorry.
