I watch ALL your videos, whether I think I’ll make it or not. This one didn’t interest me at first so just put it on to keep me company while removing paper from my latest upholstery fabric haul. But by the time I got to the end, I knew I needed to make one, at least, to store our supplies at craft shows: sales books, scissors, tape, pens, etc. What a great way to store it all together and organized.
Thanks, Christine and feel better soon.
Hugs from Nevada,
Cathy❤
That's a great use for the little pouch Cathy. It seems to be so versatile😀
That could be used on a ride along, with a Sudoku or crossword book inside. With pencils. Maybe some cough drops or lip balm in the zipper pocket. Even for the little ones to keep them busy with crayons and a coloring book. You can call it The ride along Pouch 😊.
What a fabulous ide Angelica😁
Take along sewing pouch, cute
Great name for it Nita. Thank you😁
Love this! Thanks for all that you share❤️
My pleasire Annie. Thank you😁
any crafty person can utilize a pouch with space for a notebook or perhaps a pattern or two. I like it for taking my essential sewing notions to my sister's for visits, thanks again
Thanks for sharing Carylanne😁
Brilliant project! You always amaze me with your talent! I hope you feel better soon❤
Thanks Kim😁
Christine , you a winner again ,"" thing O "l can see very much, a very handy item for many many things we can use , eg Xmas again, for me
Thanks Patricia. It's so useful, it can't posibly have just one name😁
I can be a kindle storage organizer I believe. Little office organizer. Feel better soon.😊❤️
That's a great idea Melanie. Thank you😁
My daughter would love this pouch. It's like a notebook keeper. She does a lot of research when she writes a book. So she has post it notes, different colors, she has pens of different colors, she would have that thing stuffed with everything, including a snack. 😊❤ Love it.
Sounds like this would be perfect Sharon😁
You can call it whatever you decide to use it for.
I made one very similar to yours for my on the go embroidery utensils. I spend a lot of time in waiting rooms and I taught myself embroidery as a boredom killer but with all the sharp needles and little scissors I couldn't just throw things in a bag and a regular needle book didn't have the spaces I needed. Mine also has a similar zippered pouch but instead of the elastic pencil holder I made a series of little elastic pockets to hold my little thread cards and on the other side I have a mini scissor pouch, some felt pieces for needles pins and clips and a small pocket for my recharger cable for my craft light. For the outside I recycled some denim that I embroidered. I wish your video was around when I made it, it took quite a bit of work to figure out by myself. It has come to be very handy. Everything is in one place ready to go and I switch out my threads as I work on different projects.
Yours is very cute 😍 although I would have used a stiffer stabilizer or thicker fabric for the outside.
Thanks so much for your videos! 💕
Thanks Polly. I agree, a stiff stabiliser would have been better. I was just a little lazy to use it, as I'd have to quilt it😁
I really like this pouch, nice tutorial as always :)
Thanks so much Tina😊
This would make a good teachers gift. Great project.
That's a lovely idea Dorothy😁
Sorry about the bug. Hope you kick it soon and feel better quick. ❤
Thanks Cyn. Getting lots of rest😁
Great project another one on the list, Christine you never run out of new ideas, not long to go to the 100k , I have the bubbles on ice waiting,
Oooh, bubbly! That's sounds lovely Faye😁
Lovely project,so hand and a lovely gift, thanks for sharing
My pleasure Eve. Thank you😁
What a fun scrap buster idea!!! Great tutorial.😊
Thank you Kate😁
This is useful! I am making some items to put in two graduation gift bags. This is great for student to drop note pads, pens etc in a bag ,organized neatly , slide a journal into the side for quiet time at the library …mapping out life goals.
I am thinking I can use this for day time diaper quick grab wallet . Adjust the elastic for holding baby things to distract baby while you change his diaper. Maybe a small taggie blanket.
I will experiment with it when I have more time …..
Thanks Christine 🙏🏻. Always interesting items .
This is a very easy one to modify to your needs Berniece. Hope you can share what you make with our Facebook group😁
Brilliant! Going to make some for the oldies home for their colouring books. I think they would like them. Craft camp was wonderful but came home with a lurgy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
Same happened to me after table tennis weekend. Have been sick for a week now. I think the oldies will love this Debbie😁
This would be great to put so e wipes and nappy etc in, when you wouldn’t want a full bag. Ooh, actually could you make a baby bag with changing mat included? This could match it!
That's been on my list for a while louise. 😁
You are a great teacher! With marvelous ideas, love it!
Thank you so much Donna😁
I absolutely love this idea ❤ I would use it for sure!! The fabric you used is so pretty 👍
Thanks so much Elayne😁
Thanks for sharing
You're very welcome Cynthia. Thank you😁
You really wanted us to learn allot today! I love that lining fabric! This pouch could be good for some sewing supplies or crochet hooks, etc. Very versatile
It sure does have a lot of uses Brenda. Got to keep you all busy😁
This is much like when I made binder/notebook covers. I'm going to try and explain what I did that was different while addressing your project (which is lovely): (1) take the full lining piece (not the pocket or flap) and make it width-wise shorter the same as the seam allowance. I did this by folding the seam allowance amount over and top stitching those sides down - though in this project ironing it over is probably sufficient. That's where you'll be turning it inside out, through the lining. (2) when creating the layers, reverse them. Star with the outer fabric face up, followed by the 2 pockets, face down. Within the seam allowance, stitch down the pockets so they don't shift. (3) lay the lining face down. The sides will be short by the seam allowance, which is what you want so you don't sew over them. However, it's really only necessary to do this on one side for your project. In any case, sew all the way around, ensuring you don't sew the lining down on one of the vertical sides. Then, when you turn it right-side out and top stitch, you will the catch the side you left open and the project will lay flatter. Also, you have a much larger area in which to turn. I hope that makes sense. Also, since this is just fabric, I would most likely add a firmer stabilizer to the outer material so it's not so floppy. As for the equivalent of your product, it's probably Pellon SF101 here in the USA. It's the most often used stabilizer for projects like these.
Thanks so much for your tips😁
Sewing Craft Compendium.
Doesn't that sound fancy!
Get well soon, I said to hubby on the previous tutorial I noticed you were getting a cold. 💐🪡🧵✂️
That sounds very fancy Sue, and a great title too.
Yep! Got sick from last weeks tournament. Have been sick all week😁
Thanks Christine great video beautiful pouch there are so many uses for this one good idea for your subscribers when you reach your goal I will be watching feel better soon
Thanks so much Pamela😁
That is a great do it all pouch! I may have to try an adjust the sides to accommodate an Ipad. That is really spectacular and can’t wait to make this.
That's a great idea Dana. It's certainly an easy one to modify😁
Great storage pouch! I love it...🥰
Thanks so much Sue😁
I make these and use them as a nappy wallet. I make 2 pockets where the elastic is, and in the middle between the pocket, I put a dummy holder. Mine don't have the zipper pocket, just a plain pocket. I love the idea of the zipper pocket. 🩷
This is a great idea for nappies Leah. 😁
I love a little storage/carry case. Thanks Christine. Hope you get better soon xx
Thanks so much Christine😀
Smart project, ideal as a student pouch or journal(ist) wallet.
Thanks Duncan. It certainly has a lot of uses😁
Love it!🤗💗
Thank you Sandi😁
I love this!
Thank you Toni😁
Such a cute idea, I think I will try one with something a little more stable in the outer section, maybe a really thin cardboard
That's a great idea Joyce. Stiff Peltex would work too😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs Probably better idea than I had
This would be great as a sewing or knitting kit, too!
I agree. This will have so many uses😀
Feel better soon...I thought you were getting sick, your voice sounded off in the last video. 🤗🤗🤗. This would make a nice study note keeper, whether for a student or bible study.
Thanks Teresa. That's a lovely idea for a student or bible😁
I really love the fabric you used!
Thanks Tonlei😀
I like this but I’d make a few changes. I’d size it for writing notebooks so that the back and front covers could slide into the open pockets and you’d have the blank paper in the middle, like a book cover. I’d also put a kind of pocket under the pens and pencils as a stop/catch so as pencils slide under the elastic, they would get stopped by the pocket. I’d also add zipper tabs to avoid going over teeth when top stitching. For the tab, I’d use Velcro, so that it will be flexible on size. I might even make a kind of card wallet for it too. Just some of my thoughts here to appeal to parents and kids in school/university.
Thanks for your ideas Barbara. This one is certainly an easy one to modify😁
Love this notebook holder! Hope you feel better soon
Thank you so much Jennifer😁
A portable desk drawer.
Yes. That's perfect Arvetta😁
I can think of so many uses for this pouch! Great design!
Thank you. It's certainly very versatile😁
My daughter informed me that her Kindle could fit inside this pouch. She uses her Kindle to do research. So, when she's traveling, she also informed me she wanted one of those, with a wristlet handle. It will save on my elastic 😅❤ She's always poaching my sewing projects. But, that's okay, as others at work notice what she's got and they want one... I'm okay with that, especially when they pay upfront 😊
It sounds like a great use for this bag. I hope you get loads of orders😁
Christine, I enjoy your videos so much! I just began sewing several weeks ago. I live in an area with tons of upholstery fabric and I use free rolls often. Can anyone answer the question if I am using a stiff piece of upholstery on these projects, do I need to use stablizer? I was thinking not, but just wondering.
How fortunate that you have access to all that fabric. I don't usually stabilise upholstery fabric unless I need extra body for a particular project. They can vary quite a bit though😁
love it. i already plan to make one. I'm going to use waterproof fabric for the outside. and maybe put the first part of the snap before sewing it
Thanks Bernedicte. Putting the snap on first, is a great idea😁
What brand of machine do you use?
This one is a Prosew machine, but I also use Jacks😁
thank you for doing this I love it and hope I may win LOL when the time comes. I was wondering if the size can be adjusted to fit the composition books when are bigger and would love the extras on one of those holders? Thanks for all the great videos and useful things, love what you show
This would be a very easy one to modify for your books Linda😁
Christine could you make a coffee mug holder or paper cup holder for my coffee as I like it super hot and the tissues are not cutting it
That's been on my list for a while Maxine😁
I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you Joan😁
Thank you Joan😁
Great project! What’s the name of the foot you are using, please?
Thanks Dorcas. It's just a narrow foot, also called a narrow zipper foot for industrial machines😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs thank you, I have never seen one with a guard like that….very interesting!
@dorcasbontrager216 oh that is a finger guard. It's separate from the feet to protect you from stitching your fingers 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs ahhh, ok! That is something I should probably have… Since I have ended up in the ER with them having to X-ray to find the tip of a needle that broke off in my finger from my industrial machine🤦🏻♀️🤣
I just LOVE your videos. Thank you so much for teaching those that are interested! I'm new to sewing, what kind of sewing machine foot are you using?
Thank you so much Jackie. The foot is a regular straight stitch foot. The wire frame in front is a finger guard😀
It is very similar in size to a clutch purse, maybe clutch pouch or clutch storage?
That's a great idea😁
A Stationery Station?
That's a great idea Sharon😁
I would love to see your shop with your goods for sale… maybe you will consider that
I'm due to do another shop tour soon Marty, but here's the link to my tours so far😀 czcams.com/play/PLwdRgjJztIb1fNGt9-sZHZg6zPFZ2tMoQ.html
