- [IMPORTANT PLEASE READ] - Depending on when your bike was manufactured, you might still receive an ebike with a quick release axle, in which case use the instruction found in this video and your owners manual. If you received an ebike with a bolt-on axle, follow the installation steps in the link below, in place of the front wheel installation steps described in the assembly video and your Owner’s Manual. All ebikes come with Quick Release skewer to secure the fork protector plate during shipping, but it will not be required for assembly if you have a bolt-on axle.
This link will also help you determine which type of axle is on your front wheel if you are unsure: support.radpowerbikes.com/Mai...
Follow these instructions to assemble the RadRover 6 Plus and the RadRover 6 Plus Step-Thru. Be sure to perform all safety checks in the owner’s manual including a handlebar twist test, ensuring the front wheel is properly secured, and that all parts are tightened and torqued properly.

Just received mine in 2 days from ordering. Came UPS Seattle. Not my first or 10 th bike. Very high quality. They are very upfront about it being manufactured in China, to their specs and design. Like many American companies including the phone many of us carry
Don’t fully tighten or torque the handlebar clamps until fully assembled. Then sit on the bike in your normal riding position, make adjustments, and fully torque everything. If you don’t have a torque wrench, just tighten all fasteners the best you can.
I don't have a pedal wrench how do I do that
@@bigdamnhero2.097 Take the pedal with you and go to the hardware store and ask for an open end wrench to fit.
@@wb4514 I ended up using the 15mm spanner to do it hopefully it stays lol
Thanks man!
Great video. I needed to add a washer on the front tire assembly on the brake assembly side due to rubbing.
To me, this information helped with assembly on other brands . Like having mechanics 101 teaching, necessary in understanding about tools, and physics in general .
Awesome video!!!!! I could have used it last week but it confirms that we did everything right to assemble my wife's new bike. Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the feedback, Fred! Happy riding!
Thanks, this was helpful 👍
Great bike, motor assist works great.
Just received my Radrover 6 ebike 👍 the video was really well composed and informative.
The bike is of exceptional quality. 👍
Thanks for joining the Rad crew, Jim!
Video does a good job of explaining the basics, you have to use a bit of common sense but the steps are clearly explained. Bike is awesome!
Just got my RadRover 6 Plus e bike. Going to put it together this evening.
Woohoo! We can't wait to hear about your first ride, Alexander!
fyi I undid the display head just enough to allow easier tightening of the handlebar attachment bolts
I just received my order for a RadRover 6 Plus that was on-sale for $1399. Great deal but when I opened the box it was missing the keys and the box with the head light, pedals, charger, instructions, hardware, and tool box. It took a long time to open up an on-line chat and once it was available, a spent a long time in the queue to chat with someone. They had to break down the missing parts into 2 orders and I have only received an email for one of them so far. I hope I get everything I need to assemble the bike. This is the second RadRover I bought, the first one was 3 years ago and all went well with it, this experience I'm not too pleased but only time will tell if this gets resolved. I'll keep you posted.
Why did u buy a new one? Was something wrong with your old one?
My older bike is in FL and I wanted one for my MI home. @@MrSnakeheadhunter
Same here. Useless
I have a Rad rover 6+ is there any way to raise the handlebar stem?
HI!
What are the dimensions of the box you ship the bike in?
Great Affordable E-bike
What size are the Radrover 6 plus rear fender mount screws? My screw is stripped on the head and won't tighten all the way. Fender thus wobbles and is noisy over bumps..
Hey Jerry! Let's get you in touch with our Product Support team, you can reach them at - (800) 939-0310 ext. 2, or email at - radpowerbikes.com/support.
I got the same problem (rear fender).
My new radrover front wheel has a long threaded bolt where the skewer is supposed to go???
Mine too I have no idea
I just watched another assembly video and they have a totally different wheel axle that’s open and lets you put skewer through. They must of sent us the wrong front wheel 🤬 . I ordered 2 both wrong
I just talked to rad power, they said they are no longer using the front wheel quick disconnect and to discard the one it comes with and bolt the front wheel directly to the forks. That’s why our wheels are different than the video, they haven’t updated the video or manual yet he said.
¿what's the size (measures) and weight?
Is it necessary to "burn" the brakes in like on my bike from another brand ?
Hi Penna! We recommend connecting with our Product Support team about this. They can be reached at (800) 939-0310 ext. 2 or at radpowerbikes.com/support, and they'll take care of you!
Excellent video - but it convinced ME to take my RadRover Plus to a local bike shop for assembly! It is on the "anyone can do it" end of the difficulty scale, but if you don't have a bicycle torque wrench and hex bits, you can't torque to spec. And even if you buy a torque wrench and hex bits, how do you torque the pedals to spec? I realized that although I could do most of the steps in the video, there was enough that I doubted that it was worth it "pay the man""!
Agree. Will have an expert do to mine.
Could buy a pedal crowfoot for your torque wrench... for future readers' sake.
@@auturgicflosculator2183 Just for future readers, most pedals have a hex slot on the end you screw into the crank. The crank has a hole straight through it so you can come in with an allen wrench from the other side to tighten it down if you don't have a pedal wrench handy and you can torque it that way. I personally think torquing a pedal is silly but I have seen someone use a big breaker bar to put one on and tore the threads out.
I have the Rad ^ 6 plus < the one thing i found where i live and most of you will find also < The deer will run over you because they don't hear you coming,, I learn to use that bell < they will hurt you by accident < I love the bike it is a bad ass
Great video, very detail. I'm a profesional bike rider (downhiller) and I was impressed on how professionally this video was approached, but at a level that almost anybody can understand.
Thanks so much for the encouragement and feedback!
I need help , my bike won't turn on and I can't figure it out
Helpful video. I wish they would have spent a little time on the battery and the electronic functions of the bike.
Thanks for the feedback Kevin! If you need any additional assistance please don't hesitate to reach out to our Product Support team at - radpowerbikes.com/support.
@@RadPowerElectricBikes sure, now that I've had 2-3 months to ride this bike, I have to say it is great and I'm glad I made the purchase. Good quality, sturdy, and a blast to ride. I ride a lot farther now than I ever did and I enjoy it more. Love my new bike.
@@kpf8186 Thanks for sharing! We're so glad to hear you're enjoying longer rides. Thanks for riding Rad!
Got mine all assembled but it won't turn on and there are no lights on the battery...
Mineral oil leaked from front brake line, now it's not holding properly, how do I fix this?
Hey Brian! Let's get you in touch with our Product Support team. You can reach them by email at - radpowerbikes.com/support.
Tighten all bolts to 6Nm was a really sloppy direction and led to me snapping the fender clamp…
How do you judge the mm to torque?
Hey there, our Product Support team can provide details to help you out here. Give us a call at (800) 939-0310 ext. 2 or reach out at radpowerbikes.com/support and they'll take care of you.
Do you need a special pedal wrench or can you get away with what is in the tool bag?
Do I need bicycle grease or will I be fine without it?
Feel free to get in touch with our Product Support team about that! You can reach them at - radpowerbikes.com/support.
come to think of it, how does this guy know he is getting 35nm on the pedals when he
appears to be using a regular wrench?!@?!??
I was thinking the same. Did you get any answers?
@@johndc1 not really.
which leads me to think nobody really pays attention to it, and i guess they are all fine.
They need to be tightened pretty good. 35nm is a lot of force. It is worse if they are not tight enough and cause the inside threads to wear. Tighten if pretty hard but not a competition lifter kinda tight and you should be good
@@maryj4535 thanks :)

next bike version video please dont switch mic settings mid video
Really, the first piece of advice, is to remove the battery before starting assembly.
Really? That's your complaint? You really took the time to bitch about something so ridiculous?
How do I turn it on :(
Hey there! To start your ebike, make sure you turn the key to the on/locked position and press the Mode button till your ebike turns on. Our Product Support team can provide a more detailed description. They can be reached at (800) 939-0310 ext. 2 or at radpowerbikes.com/support, and they'll take care of you!
@@RadPowerElectricBikes thanks. It finally worked however it did not turn on for the first few times. Maybe the battery was not locked in place. Either way, it works now! And it's amazing 🤩 truly incredible bike. Far far better than my old hyper e-bike from Walmart.
I'm just really happy that I ordered this bike and how immediate the electric boost is. I use it to get to my job and back and the way it handles hills is far better than my old mountain hyper e-bike. (:
@@LtUnreal Hi
I am having same problems, just finish installing and it won’t turn on. I have hold the battery button down to remove it from shipping mode but still won’t turn on. What did you do ?
This is considered easy assembly?
Lol yes…
you know, I think they throw the "torque wrench" and "10 Newtons" just to discourage self-assembly, or maybe just to make the lawyers happy. Of course, it is advisable to have a pro look over your work, but it shouldn't be so hard to tell if your work with a regular wrench is tight enough.
just went thru the whole 2 hours , no make that 4 cause I went real slow making sure to follow everything exactly and put on a front rack (and yes it could be done in an hour easy)the second time but went to turn on battery and nothing, no instruction about that little f up. And while I am at it shipping was a pathetic insult.
10 Newton meters broke my bolt
The bike nearly killed me when my brake levers were around the wrong way,
I’ve put my brakes round the right way now, but I’m not sure if it’s okay with hydraulic brakes because the reservoir is upside down🧐🙃
I bought these bikes last November and it has been a total nightmare. Customer service has been responsive in the fact that they have given me a couple of laundry lists of things to do in order to fix the problem I have (bike won't power up), none of which have worked. They have sent me a couple of parts to swap out but that hasn't fixed it either. I know it's a product issue and not an assembly matter. I took the bike in the box to my local bike shop for assembly since I didn't want any issues and thought a pro would be the best way to go. I purchased 2 of these bikes and although one has worked perfectly, one hasn't been able to be fixed. Over three months in and I have yet to be able to ride this thing. Very disappointed! I purchased these bikes and the Hollywood rack for my motorhome to use while on vacation so we wouldn't have to have a car. That would have been a good plan had it worked.
when the instructions are smarter than you 🤣
Comment espérer vendre des vélos en FRANCE?, sans mode de montage , ni tuto, non en FRANCAIS? IMPOSSIBLE
C'est le moment d apprendre l anglais 😂
You know you did good but I can do better if you send me one
Unimpressed. Took weeks to get here and then they didn’t include the box of parts, keys, pedals etc. Customer service was unsympathetic and unable to grasp that I didn’t have keys or even a manual. Another ten plus days before I might get the parts. After I’ve left… and I can’t carry around a broken down bike in my van. They won’t rush the order or even apologize. Terrible.
Well you got off easy compared to me I bought a Billy goat ebike $2500 dollars and it arrived highly damaged to the point where it doesn’t even work properly and they wouldn’t even send me a new battery which was absolutely defective from good old FedEx.!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡
I was looking to grab one of these but after reading your comment I’ll just call it a day.
Once assembled and in use, where can I get it Serviced and repaired in Scotland?
Hi Ralph this is one of my concerns too. The main issue I have is that all the CZcams videos that I have found are for the US spec bike which has a 750W motor. In the UK we get 250W motors. I would like to see a video of a 250W bike hill climbing. My current bike is a Freego 250W and I have to have full throttle and peddle flat out to get up Devon hills. I am waiting a response from Rad on my queries.
I just got the 6 plus at reduced price. 1299* and the only difference I notice is rubberized grips and the sprockets look a tad chinsey, but hey thats chinese metal. Everything else is great. Put it together myself with all adjustments and it took about 2 hours. OHHH the gear shifting is fucked but i expected that. Gonna attempt it myself. Fingers crossed
