Really loved how you did it. Simple and straight.
Thanks!
Another beautiful project! I would love to build one of these sometime. I built a patio bar from your videos and my husband and family loved it.
Hi Angela! Great job with the patio bar! Keep up the good work and thank you for subscribing!
As an amateur with woodworker, I typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement. Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness [Link Here== *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . I now work like a genius. That is great!?
Hi Pete I got my plans and in the process of building my first full size bed frame it’s going really well thanks to your instructions . Watched the video about a hundred times. I like your channel I’m a loyal follower. See ya from down south
I love how simple and no nonsense this bed frame build is. great job Pete. I will be adding this to my furniture collection. off too the lumber yard I go.
Thanks, have fun with the build!
Thank you pete for sharing this dyi project, i made my bedframe following your plan
Great job. Love the bed. I think Im going to build one but out of maple wood. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
Bernard, that Maple bed is going to look beautiful. Have fun!
can I have the wood measurement please
I built a similar bed a few years ago. When it came to adding the top board on the head/foot board I counter sunk the screws and used dowels to hide them instead of the putty. Once the finish went on it added a nice decorative touch. Awesome video!
Very cool! Thanks Dustin!
Thanks for the inspiration. I just made the bed for my guest room. I turned the headboard and footboard around and routed out each box. It came out great!!!!
Awesome Matt! Nice work!
Very nice job. The only thing I would have done differently is ad quite a few more support slats for the matress. Beds are not just for sleeping on if you know what I mean.
Hey Paul! Ha, for sure. A few more slats will be a good idea. Cheers!
Paul Gilfeather lol. they are also for the kids to jump up and down. lol
Have this built for my daughter but she complains it wobbles and bangs against her wall when she moves . What can I do to fix this problem
justin norby kick her boyfriend out!
PG Tips ho
I sure like the designs you do. Thanks!
Thanks!
No complaints at all wow im blown away by how professional you presented your build and the execution. Great job and i cant wait to start mine.
Thanks Marc!
Can’t wait to get started on mine. Most clear and efficient video I’ve watched yet. Thank you!
Thanks!
I'm not building this but I watch all your videos because their really entertaining

I'm going to be building one soon. Great job Pete
Awesome Kevin and thanks for subscribing!

Absolutely beautiful work. Thank you for making this video. I have three bed frame to make and this is the best video I saw on CZcams demonstrating how to make a bet. Thank you again, and keep the work up.
Thanks for watching!
Nice bed frame and nice hat too!
Thank you Jeff! You must be a Husker fan too eh??!
Simple, but very nice.
Thanks Lewis!
Lewis Way I
Nice looking bed. Heavy duty, too. I'll be watching the videos several times because I'm not a professional carpenter but have made quite a few things. I like that the designs are not highly complicated. Thanks.
Thanks Charles!
I like your way of explanation. Brief and clear. Thumbs up!
Thanks for watching!
Hey Pete thanks for the plans on your website! I built the bed and it came out amazing! I opted to go with yellow pine from the big box store. After spending days palm sanding the pickets I decided not to use them. I chose to go with 1”x10” pine boards and installed them vertically versus horizontally. It looks great! My 11 year old didn’t really care for the yellow Pine natural look so we decided to white wash it. I also added some trim and a top cap to the headboard and footboard. I don’t know how to upload pictures but I’d really like to know what you think. Once again thank you very much!
Hey Dewey! Sounds like it turned out really nice. I love whitewashing boards. I did that with my cedar siding on my home. Send project photos to kate @ diy pete .com ( no spaces ) - Cheers!
You have a thumbs up from me simply for wearing hearing protection and a face mask. Providing a positive, healthy example. Aside from that; great build!
Thank you Jason! I appreciate it :)
this was so awesome! We took the plans and used them but extended it to king size and it came out fantastic! Thank you so very much
Awesome job!
Just finished the bed frame project. Came out great, easy plan to follow. Looking forward to more projects.
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi... What are the pieces of metal called you bought off amazon? I would like to get some but cant find them.
Thanks for helping Logan out Doug! -- And if anyone else is reading through -- the link is in the description under the video as well. Cheers
DIY PETE how can I modify this for a full sized bed please. Looking to build this weekend.
I got them off of ebay.
About how much did all the materials cost?
Hi! I have more price info here: www.diypete.com/diy-bed-frame-and-bed-frame-plans/ -- with Covid, prices of lumber have gone up so you'd need to look into that a bit. Cheers!
Total cost for wood ( Pine ) - $98 | Total project cost using Pine or Fir: $144
Total cost for wood ( Cedar ) - $221 | Total project cost using cedar: $267
Thanks for making your plans available! Can't wait to build this frame, and check out some more videos. Definatly subscribing.
Thanks so much Timothy! Good luck with the build!
I did it!!!!! Thank you so much Pete. I love building...but don't know anything about it, I usually just make it up as I go. That method usually involves a few melt downs and lots of backtracking. This was like baking a cake. I used your directions, and then boom, a bed frame without swear words ;)
Hey Meghan, congrats! Awesome job and thanks so much for the feedback. Keep up the great work and have fun building!
build an easy TV stand
Hi! Here is one I've built czcams.com/video/9R8MwOzhEsU/video.html --- are you looking for a smaller version or more basic? If so I will add to the list!
DIY PETE I'm wanting to build one similar to a workbench style. 4 4x4 legs, 2x4 supports and 2x6 slats. what wood is good? I build a workbench to start but I still had splitting. thanks pete!
Really simple plans from start to finish. Made buying the lumber to building the piece vary simple. Thank you for making this.
Very welcome!
This looks fantastic. I'm definitely incorporating a few of these ideas into a bed frame I'm making.
Awesome!
1 word...SKILLS! Awesome work my friend! great vid
Thanks
thanks pete. This looks great! ive watched several bed videos. this was the best looking/easy to follow one that ive seen. good job. Thanks for the idea, im planning to make this soon.
Excellent work Pete love the design and how you explain the process.
Thanks Moises!
Those fasteners for the corner work a treat! Great job man
Thanks Robin! Yeah they are super slick. Cheers!
I don't know why you don't have more subs. Very well done. My initial thought was to have the foot board facing the other way but after seeing the finished product, the way you having it better. Keep being awesome!
Hey James! Thanks so much for the kind words and for subscribing. I appreciate it! Yeah I toyed with the idea of changing the directions of the footboards but I think the 2x4 boards looked a little too blocky after asking a few friends. I think if the boxes were made differently and with a thinner board that it would look better. About half my friends liked the more clean look ( like I ended up doing ) and half liked the more rustic / farmhouse look. Thanks so much JAMES!!!! You are the man!
Thanks for the great plans! Almost done building it !
Awesome Bryan!
Wow.thank you so much.very well explain.
I did this project using some old barn wood as the filler for the bed head and footer..it was awesome. Really my first furniture piece and I'm very proud of it.
Great work Kay!
Looks great and seemed pretty easy to build. Always a great combo!
Thanks Carter!
Really enjoyed this vid...perfect speed and clear uncluttered direction...subbed for sure!

Sounds great Carl! Thanks for watching!
Hi. Did you end up using these plans? Also did you need to add additional support in the center of it?
Very good work... Muy buen trabajo.
Gracias!
The only video that actually understand the need to dissemble the bed for moving 😍
Great!
Beautiful you made it look so simple. Great video I feel very relaxed and just subscribed fantastic 👍🏻
Thanks so much for subscribing!
I generally can't nail the nails straight into an IKEA flat-pack so I'm hardly the intended audience here but there is something really soothing and entertaining about your videos! Not to mention that the end results are fantastic!
Thanks so much for watching Matt! I hope all is well man. Looking forward to you getting into woodworking if it sounds like a un hobby for ya!
Thanks for the great video - easy to follow and I love the design. I'm going to make a bed for me and one for my daughter. Part of my day job is finishing wood - staining, painting, etc. Minwax has developed an oil/water base hybrid poly that is easy to work with. It dries fast, has very little odor, and cures to a very hard finish. My final comment is that although some woods look good without stain, if you have time, I would recommend staining, Use a natural or clear stain if that's the look you want. The stain conditions the wood so it's like an additional coat of finish. It also romances the wood in a way that can't be achieved any other way.
Great to hear from you and thanks for the info!
Great looking bed Pete.
Thanks Keith!
good explaination.simple and easy.thanks
Thanks
That looks amazing im gonna give this a try for the bed I'm building
Have fun building!
This is by far the best woodworking book I have ever read, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . My woodworking teacher endorses it to all of his students. I am impressed how authors managed to write very detailed topics. I`m surprised by the material and didn`t have a tough time following the lessons..
Looks like a very solid build. Good job.
Thanks!
Hey Pete,
I just got done building this bed frame and I couldn't be happier. Ended up adjusting the dimensions to turn it into a king sized frame and then used a dark cherry stain to finish it. Thanks for all of the great videos! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
Hey Jeff, Glad that the project turned out well for you! I'm sure the dark cherry stain looks awesome!
I’m assuming you just extended the width by 16 inches and that’s all?
That is correct. I added 16" to all of the boards that make up the width. I also took some scrap 4x4 and made a couple of mid supports that I attached to the slats, just for a little extra stability in the middle.
Jeff Johansen Great, thank you!
And he maid the bed! great video Pete keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching!
I have to say this was a nice build Mr. DIY Pete. I'm a first time watcher of your channel.
Thanks Will! I really appreciate you watching the video and for subscribing. Hope all is well and take care!
Great job. Looks amazing.
Thanks!
awesome, i'm gonna make 2 for my daughters. Thanks for sharing :)
Very cool, have fun!
There is absolutely nothing better than a DIY video that is short and too the point. If you want a 45 minute video of something like this, you should not be trusted with a pair of dull scissors let alone power tools.
Thanks for watching!
always refreshing to see a DIY video with a simple, but sturdy build that's also good looking. Greetings from Cumming, GA!
Thanks! I hope all is well down in Georgia.
all is good. purchased the plan for this last night. Perhaps a dresser or bookcase for a build video would be a suggestion I'd give. Loving the channel. thanks again!
Thanks so much Bare! And have fun with the build :)
I think that you just saved me at least a grand by watching your video, my wife was wanting a bed somewhat similar to that style. Now I can build her an entire bedroom set thanks to your design and tips. Now I need to hurry up and get my workshop built.
It's been a long time since I was last in Bozeman, I use to live 10 miles outside of Columbia Falls headed towards Polebridge back in 1986. Kalispell, Whitefish, Hungry Horse Reservoir...just a few of the many places that I use to visit.
Hey Robert! You'll do a great job building a bed frame and I'm glad you'll be able to save a lot of money! Always fun to hear from a fellow Montanan. Cheers!
After I got off work at midnight I went home and had excitedly shown my wife your video. Her response was that she loved it, and asked me if I can make her an entire bedroom set. Looks like that I'll need to hurry up and get my shed/shop built.
Awesome! Good luck getting thats shop built!
This is a beautiful design thank you
Thanks Doug!
Another Solid build Pete.
