  • This video explains the purpose of using Formula column (previously known as Calculated column) in Dataverse for model driven applications in Microsoft Power Apps.
Formula data type can be used to calculate logic between one or more column alongside inbuilt functions to build a logic to generate value as per the business needs.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work... I just wrote a basic IF(Name = "John", "John", "Other"), and got an error...

Yes Alice. The functionality is limited to some data type. But in the near future you should be able to use for other data types. Thanks.

UNFORTUNATELY NO LOGARITHM AND EXPONENTIAL FUNCTIONS ARE SUPPORTED. IT SERVES NO PURPOSE

Kelvin - Thanks for the comments. You just need to be bit patient with the releases from Microsoft. Did you managed to submit an ideas / feature request with Microsoft?
