Yep, the P1000 at its extreme end has its moments... When they come it is just so satisfying. Not a perfectionist's camera by any stretch of the imagination but can be stunning and chat worthy in a wide range of everyday scenarios. The price for it just puts that cherry on the cake.
Buying one of these tomorrow. Will see how she goes at it well be my first camera. You seem to have gotten the hang of using this camera pretty good. Also make good videos.

well presented - nice one. i have the p950 and went to my friends place last week as he looks over a wetland... was funny cause he pulled out his binoculars which we was very proud off - but my p950 smoked it for zoom and clarity... so i think of these cameras as telescopes too..
If you want to instantly frame any shot at any zoom level then this is your camera. Kind of big though, so maybe not the best choice for an all purpose camera. I carry mine with me everywhere, but I might be a little obsessed with the P1000 :)

Thank you, jade black! I had fun chasing these dragonflies around the lake :) The P1000 captured some sharp images at the longer focal lengths.

I have a Nikon p950 and it’s not so heavy like the p1000 and the Zoom difference is a small distance
