I remember when I was taught cartography at the University, I’ve been hundred times told about the importance of using the correct and valid data sources for my maps. With all due respect, Johnny, what was the source of data for your maps(country images, to be precise) in your video? Do you consider Crimea as a Russian territory? Do you think it’s correct to ignore international laws and treaties and display territories by de facto control? Thank you

    BRICS seeks to create a new currency, considering gold's historical role as a store of value and medium of exchange. However, the functionality and acceptance of a gold-backed currency in the current global financial system are uncertain. Creating a new currency requires careful consideration of economic, political, and logistical factors.

    • @JenniferDrawbridge
      @JenniferDrawbridge Před 9 měsíci +3

      The discussions and proposals surrounding BRICS nations' potential use of gold are intriguing. People choose to buy gold for various reasons, such as its historical role as a store of value and medium of exchange, its potential as a hedge against inflation or currency devaluation, and its relative scarcity compared to other commodities. Gold also offers diversification benefits to investment portfolios due to its low correlation with stocks and bonds.

    A video about geopolitics of Greenland that doesn't clearly discuss Greenland's relationship to Denmark is strange. Not once was it explicitly mentioned that Greenland is a part of The Kingdom of Denmark (now by choice), which makes Denmark a central player in the arctic too. As someone in the Space Force, I think you mixed up the intent of Thule Air Base. It's not meant to detect a Russian invasion over the arctic (a crazy idea that should never be attempted in the first place), it's meant as the newer version of the very radars you visited. It's a phased array radar site to detect Russian ICBMs. Due to the shorter distance between Russia and the U.S over the Arctic, Russian nuclear missiles have always been anticipated to fly over the North Pole. Thus, Thule is THE most strategically important base for the U.S in the event of Nuclear war. When it's not detecting missiles though, it's tracking space objects. Hence why it's becoming a Space Force base.

    People and countries should look for ways to take care of our Planet, to see what can be done so that the ice does not continue to melt instead of exploiting every single inch of this Planet.

    Wouldn't it be crazy if Russia was somehow convinced to sell any one of their islands in the Arctic circle to China just so China can even at least claim to have an actual territorial presence in that region?

      I really doubt Russia would give up the last kinda power projection they have of having to "sharing" the Arctic with yet another super power. It would also undermine China's talking points to a point of hypocrisy when they argue about U.S "neocolonialism" when it's China who literally expanding it's territory to regions not even coherent to their mainland territory.

    Canada and Greenland (Denmark) signed a deal to share Hans island, which sits right in the middle of their borders. That’s how you do it. It would also make a good video, look up whiskey war.

    I loved the video but you should definitely have talked more a out the relationship between Denmark and Greenland, as a guy from Greenland I feel like you only talked about some of the story and not the whole thing. And yea we live by the Danish money, and I’m happy too as I’m planning to study in Denmark
