Interview - EDDIE MARSAN on playing Mitch Winehouse in Back To Black

Legendary actor Eddie Marsan plays Mitch Winehouse, father of singer Amy Winehouse in new biopic BACK TO BLACK, which opens in cinemas this April.
Eddie Marsan is an award winning actor who has appeared in numerous films including Happy-Go-Lucky, Gangster No. 1, V for Vendett, Mission: Impossible III, Sixty Six, Hancock, Vice, Sherlock Holmes, War Horse, Deadpool 2 and many more... while his big TV credit was his role of Terry in Showtime's Ray Donovan.
In Back To Black he plays Mitch Winehouse, dad to Amy Winehouse, one of the greatest artists in recent musical history, selling more than 30 million records worldwide, and today generating more than 80 million streams per month. Her 2006 masterpiece Back to Black, propelled her to global stardom, going on to win a (then) record breaking 5 Grammy Awards, including Record Of The Year and Song of The Year for hit single ‘Rehab’. Mitch Winehouse was a jazz singer himself & a huge influence on the voice of Amy Winehouse. BACK TO BLACK is the highly anticipated feature film from acclaimed filmmaker and visual artist Sam Taylor-Johnson (50 Shades), to be released in cinemas across Ireland on 12 April 2024.
Charting Winehouse’s personal and professional life in London and her extraordinary rise to fame, Taylor-Johnson directs break-out star Marisa Abela (Industry) as music icon Amy Winehouse.
