- Last Fall While splitting firewood I split in to a few spalted maple logs and put them aside to save for later because I knew I didn't want to burn them. Spalted maple is one of my favorite kind of wood to work with. In this video I make some coasters out of one of the pieces. Let me know if you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching.

Very nice and a good idea when you don't need to explain. Thanks and have a great day.
Simple project, but so much detail to do it right. Nice touch with the packaging. And great focus quality on the vid...makes it so much better to watch
Thanks a lot!
Enjoyed the "no music" thankyou
Glad to hear that! Thanks!
Watching this reminded me of my father. He was a cabinet maker, and in retirement used to make all sorts of things like this. Great video Brady. Thanks.

Could you make a small jewellery or recipe box out of those spalted maple .......could be a fun project .....so exited to watch next...... anyways cool coasters you've made there ......cheers....👍🏻👍🏻😀
The coasters are beautiful. Curious as to what you sell them for.
Looks like a simple project. But the first challenge is to obtain/recognize a good piece of wood WRT beauty, right?
Nice
Thanks Buddy!
very nicely done and I like how you use your vise as a work stand, is that wood a hardwood ?
Yes it is maple. Spalted maple just meant that the wood has started to decay. It's actually fungus in the wood but it is beautiful
Hey, I want to make a few of these this weekend! What thickness did you cut them to and have they held up?
Quarter inch I made them. Which is pretty standard. That have held up great! Just make sure you seal them up good with tung oil
Hi please advise me these tools.
What area of the country are you located and how much does a pack of 4 sell for?
thanks
$30 to $40 for a set of 4. I am in upstate NY.
On the bottom of coaster what did you stick on it thanks
They are stick on cork bottoms made for coaters. I got them from Amazon I linked them in the description
Thanks
No problem 👍
What finish did you use
Hi David, I recommend tounge oil for coasters.
Great show without the music and the yammering. Got a subscribe out of me!
Nice, but after all that work it's a $400 coaster. I can just buy new end tables when they get wet instead.
Please don't fast forward your videos.
