      ThePandaX [GD] Wouldn't say it's a Android thing. I own the OnePlus 3T and it isn't locked (and doesn't lock) to any carrier. It has hotspot functionality and it always will. It's more about the brand or type of phone you're getting.
      P.S. if you feel like I'm bashing you or Apple, please let me know so that I may clarify. I'm just trynna inform here.

    • @scorebatgaming
      @scorebatgaming Před 3 lety +2

      @Aditya Bhattacharya true, yet they gave more reasoning. the iPhones had space to place a headphone jack (Strange Parts literally drilled a hole a put a jack in). Whilst also having to purchase things like dongles and headphones.
      When Samsung made the move, not only was wireless tech becoming more affordable and of higher quality, yet the inside of the phone is jam-packed because of the battery and components. Also a good dongle and high quality USB-C headphones were included.
      Currently Samsugn are wotking on graphene batter technology, which is like many tomes more efficient than batteries, there might be the move to having a large battery with much more capacity, or have a smaller battery with the same capacity, which can give us the chance of getting the headphone jack back.

A lot of Linus' videos are flat out wrong and don't have anything to do with real life use. All of the products that he fearures and praises are complete garbage. The problem with all these youtubers is that even though they call themsrlves content creators they don't use any of these devices in their daily routines. All these reviews are poetically written for the sake of the video and nothing more. @Nosuchthingasnormalhere Před 7 lety +10

      Its not an apple perspective. If anything Linus is a pc tech who prefers android but since android has so much bugs and problems he went to iphone. Im doing the same Im over the battery crap. wont spend a single second trying to optimize it ever again even if i do prefer customization and the way it functions its a load of shit. plagued with battery bugs that google never seem to fix along with other issues. And the issues i make clear are never fixed there has always been new bugs introduced which severely affect the performance, functionality and battery.
      An apple perspective would be someone who has only ever used apple and prefers it to something else because of more reasons then battery and becoming a heater.
      I hate apple but this stupid android bugs and my note 5 will be the last one for me.

    • @tiggertail
      @tiggertail Před 7 lety +4

      +Alan Barnes You are very upset with android I see. I own a note 5 and despite the minor bugs, once in a great while, it is an awesome phone. I constantly video record 4k videos with my phone and offload to my pc.I have quad hd display that is stunning.I also use my phone for work where I live stream leaks and all kinds of problems to management in an apartment complex. I also stream video games from my pc to my phone and I live stream gameplay from my phone. I love my Gear Vr and I am constantly on AltSpaceVr where you meet people from all over the world in virtual chat rooms and hang out and converse about anything. No phone is perfect as no human is perfect. Apple sucks paired with Pc that is by design just so you buy a Mac instead which concludes that the Iphone is not a versatile phone but very restrictive and overpriced for no reason since the specs of the iphone are hilarious. Linus' channel is not true to live but on the contrary it is a business channel made to capitalize on reviews of toy tech and the reviews are generated the spot in close environment for profit purposes. Every review is promotional and paid by the company regardless of being positive or negative. He is endorsed by all these tech companies and he gets all his tech free. Nothing wrong with that only that the reviews are for the most part nerdy bs that doesn't mean jack

      darkyen 00 Yeah, that's the harsh reality about Android. It may be very versatile and capable of doing as you want it to, but if you don't take control of it, you're merely a product to google.
      That's part of why I never considered Android, especially stock Android, until Privacy Guard showed up with the OnePlus One in 2014. After that, I discovered XPrivacy that gave great control over Android, including internet access control. Best of all, it's available to any Android device via the Play Store.

    Linus. The auto brightness of the S8 works differently to the iPhone. Threw me for a loop at first too. It studies your own manual adjustments under different lighting conditions and then automatically adjusts to them the next time it detects the same light change. It seemed sketchy to me at first as well but it seems to be working much better now, which I'm guessing is because it's learnt my preferences.
    I agreed with every other point you made. I'm sticking with the S8 now until the iPhone X comes out and the contract on my 6S Plus, which my other half is currently using, expires at which point I shall likely pass it on to her. The X is the closest I can get to a display like the S8's with dual stereo speakers. I'm also a fan of iOS although I will miss the S8's theming.

      Depends where you live and what carrier has service in your area. In the US for example, it's usually cheaper to get a 2 year contract. Which isn't too bad if you 100% know you're going to be with that carrier for 2+ years. Then there are some carriers, like T-mobile, that allow you to unlock the phone once it's paid off.

    • @yattasuccess9212
      @yattasuccess9212 Před 5 lety +1

      Personally I'm not at all annoyed in the slightest about Dbrand sponsor deals or ads by nearly every Tech CZcamsr on the planet, but, if someone is going to give a detailed review of a phone and use it every day, it's more than likely that it should be to serve the viewer who, if they would buy the phone, probably isn't going to have a dbrand skin, it's better to review the phone without one than to review one and base off the comfort or "holdability" with the skin.
      They should at least have it not on when they review it for this amount of time.
      To be honest though, I think reviews like these are fine, because I don't think the skin is intruding too much on the actual integrity and comfort of the device considering most-likely, an issue in that part would have warranted reviewing a phone without a custom back or skin on. Otherwise, any other plain reviews, to me, should have plain store-bought like phones.

      Volvonics the hardware itself isnt optimized lol. What makes iPhones so fast is the need to only optimize apps and games to a single os. It would be like if everyone used gtx brand gpus, it would he much easier to optimize games to reduce the gpu bottleneck at 4k gaming.

    • @Dailyblazer19
      @Dailyblazer19 Před 6 lety +9

      Volvonics a better way to put it is that Apple's A series of chips are scaled better for iOS. If you were to run Android on any of them it would overload the internals. The A10X is only so powerful because iOS is very light while Androids scale of operations are much broader and allow for more customization at the cost of it being more computationally intensive.

    BTW Iphone ripped off Nokia with 3g. IBM with touch screens. Motorola with portable phones. The 70s with pcs the 60s with computers 1600s with buttons. The 1600bc with plastics.
    The dawn of man with communication.
    If you seriously say Samsung ripped them off because they also had a home button you are so silly. Its such selection bias because you can focus on whatever you want. A sqare screen or icons in the lower part och volume buttons on the side. Also, the PDAs also had home buttons in the center so if anything its probably hp or summit.

      Yo momma has indeed mastered the skill of reading, but still appears to be lacking in the understanding department. If you look at his response this is obvious in how he doesn't understand the point of the message but indeed the individual words.
      The use of a strawman when putting words in other people's mouth is also troubling and shows serious lack of cognitive ability. He should indeed try and refrain from comments if he wishes not to make this obvious to other people.
      Kidding aside. And to make myself clear. My point was that you can cherry pick what to call ripping off. I used universal things because thats whay they and well you just used. I could just as well say Apple ripped off HTC pocket pc design because of the key design choices like the screen using most of the face of the device, leaving a bigger gap close to the user than ontop, having a button in the bottom center. Indeed most of the design is similar. Oblong with rounded edges. It's the natural way to make a touch device. Even the damn Simon looks quite similar all be it huge and not with a centered screen. You could go back change small things ad infinitum. See my point now?
      Thats it, sorry for making fun, but your attitude quite frankly deserves a little tongue and cheek.

    If anyone is looking to buy this phone now, after 5 months of Galaxy S8 launch some of it's annoying issues have been fixed with software updates. The best one is that now you have the option to NOT open bixby while pressing the bixby button, it can only be used to activate voice assistant by holding the button not pressing. This is awesome because that button would always get pressed while pulling out the phone from pockets resulting in bixby opening on lock screen and me having to go back again and again. Secondly, now there is an option in home screen settings to swipe down to open notification drawer, another complained by linus 8:38 addressed. Ambient Light sensor got an update but still have to notice if it is fixed or not. Bixby is still useless which can be pretty much ignored now by turning off bixby in home screen and via button press but bixby voice is awesome though just needs voice recognition improvement.

A mobile cpu/gpu can have a much higher clock rate but usually lacks common opcodes and pipelines that deliver much more versatile performance on desktops. The mobile cpu, gpu are mobile optimized for mobile workload (whatever they may think its is) and are not so good for many serious use-cases.
