      😆Well-said.
The trick is he doesn’t bang from the neck, he bangs from the delts and thoracic spine. This is actually a much safer and healthier way to do it. Trust me-I’m closin in on 40, and I fuct up my jaw and fractured mi spine just at the base of the skull from banging from the neck in mi teens and twenties! Now I can’t do it at all without risking serious injury, and I’ve got a load of other back issues from trying to avoid re-injury.
If there’s one message I could give to all young metal heads, this is it: You’ll end up stiff if you don’t bang like Cliff.

Kill em All was pure energy and a statement of force, a beautiful baby. But Lightning, Puppets and Justice were just the holy triad of Thrash; these are far better and progressive albums and you can clearly feel Cliff's influence.
Black and everything after that was "we need money from people who don't like fast songs, sorry not sorry".

I always really loved the era of 84-87ish. Lars really always made an effort to play the drum parts how they were written through that time period. A lot of people glorify his playing even through the early 90’s but the facts are that he started getting lazy around 88 and 89. For example, go watch the four horsemen from seattle 89 and you’ll see that Lars completely simplifies the kick pattern instead of doing the triplets in the original recording. It’s a shame he stopped playing like he did in this video.

I expected other people to comment on this but I didn’t see any. If you notice just after the big solo ends and James starts singing again, Kirks guitars breaks a string, you can see it popping off around 4:44 and at that point on you start hearing this occasional squeaky/screetchy sound. That is the sound of that loose string swinging around still attached, you can see him trying to deal with the broken string afterwards while still trying to play the song. Good thing it broke AS SOON as the solo was finished instead of during. Good timing.
