I can't wait to learn to drive in my dad's Mini 1275gt that he is happy for me to drive! I remember sitting next to my dad driving it, especially at the roundabouts the car would make you pull back to your seat - it was exciting and thrilling! That was my very first time experiencing what a classic Mini is like. 👍

A very long time ago I owed a Mk1 Cooper S I had it bored out to 1310 with a stage 3 head, 45mm side draught Weber, I loved the sound that the carburettor made, it was very quick for it's time (1968) I sold it when I got married, I don't think I would be able to get out of one now if I were to sit in on for too long, cheers n thanks for sharing your ride cheers dennis
ps I forgot to add my mate had a Mk1 as well, it had a Shorrock supercharger on it std engine went like a rocket, the only give away was a slight bulge on the bonnet left side rear,,.

At 17 you are far too young to be driving one of these, they are very light and without the right feel for the car you can end up with one hell of a tank slapper. If you want an original MKII, turn key, already restored look at paying $25.000 plus.A really good Rover one from Japan will cost around $15.000/$20.000 mark. There is a place on Parramatta Rd. in Sydney who import them but there is a bit of work got to be done to make them Australian legal.
