Excellent detailed review as usual thank you and here are some points if you mentioned them in your upcoming reviews will be much appreciated
    - DRM info is great but sometimes yoy have to share the playback specifications from Netflix itself to see if they support HDR capabilities
    - using third party launcher is is working as default or not plus using navigation gastuers with it
    - using standard charging protocol like PD & QC and which version support, this is really important as many of us using third party chargers
    - when featuring gaming capabilities especially of fram rate we would like to check PUBG mobile if it does support 90 FPS on smooth graphics or not
    - finally the supported Bluetooth and wired audio codec like LDAC, aptX, SBC and AAC.. etc
Your reviews are considered references so addressing these points will help us a lot
    Thank you again

Got the pro plus here in Canada. Probably one of very few if any... No android auto but Google maps, phone holder and Bluetooth to car is good enough for me. Still waiting for XDA community to debug bloatware script but I've deleted as much apps as I could from the vivo store. Seems to be pretty good. Haven't seen Chinese apps pop up in my non-paid Netguard pop-up for management. Replaced phone caller app and sms with some more trusted via play store. I like origin os so not looking to replace with nova launcher. Disabled all notifications from Chinese/vivo apps. All in all, great phone. Haven't tested out camera much yet. Going to bring it on my trip and personally compare for myself a6400+tamron 2.8 aperture lens to the main. Only con thus far is I feel microphone and speakers not great/loud. So you must know that Google reliability is hardly a given. I knew that I was likely going to be compromising though I don't remember which vendor said compatible... It is disappointing the Android auto. But you can work around it with Google maps and Bluetooth.
For me, I've moved off Samsung a few generations ago due to lack of innovation and never could go to Apple environment being a PC/Android person. You're getting cutting edge specs and performance here. 1 inch sensor + vivo v2 chip. My phone charges in less than 30minutes. You won't see that from a Samsung for maybe two generations still.

Its a bit unfortunate that we won't get the Pro Plus version but I don't think this phone is too bad for what it can do. Mobile photographers will love the 1inch sensor and the OS is despite having a lot of bloat ware, generally clean.
I'm more interested in the Chip than anything to see how it performs in my day to day use because I'm using the S23 Ultra right now and that thing is a legitimate monster when it comes to battery.

Personally think the regular x90 is a better option than the x90pro value wise. I tried it for a week in China. The camera optimisation is more consistent and lowlight performance is just as good. Vivo has used the imx866 in more phones with dimensity chispsets and according to them they worked with mediatek on the optimisation of it. The pro is not worth the extra money given how similar the phones are. The x90 also has the advantage of being lighter. Not sure if you had a chance to test it out

But, this Vivo X90 Pro is meh!
I would never spend almost $1000 on a smartphone with a Mediatek processor as things stand.
Vivo is surely the only brand that can make me leave Samsung, it would even have been the case this year, if the Vivo X90 Pro+ were sold internationally but with Origin-OS, a selfie camera capable of filming in stabilized 4k60 HDR and especially 4 years of Android update and 5 years of security update like Samsung, OnePlus and Oppo.
We'll see what happens in the years to come 🤞🏽
Ps: I completely agree with you that a 90 hertz option should be available on all smartphones with 120 hertz.
A 1220-1290p option should also be available for all screens with 1440p.

Pretty much everything other than these are kinda trash and after a while you would feel like you wasted your money !
As a person who bought X80 Pro, which I in 6 months because the battery was absolutely abysmal ! It couldn't last 3/4th a day in 4G/5G with moderate usage. I sold and bought Moto Edge 30 Ultra, which lasts around 2.5x of this Vivo crap, it had higher refresh rate, 2x louder speakers and the clean ui felt a lot more responsive that Vivo. Obviously the camera in edge 30 ultra was pretty meh (200mp of absolute meh...), I was using 3rd party camera apps because the oem camera app always takes washed out pictures that felt like it was taken on 2016 phone.

According to Vivo website the cooling VC chamber is only half the size on both Mediatek X90 and X90 Pro... So the throttling likely way more down to this than the SOC. Haven't seen a video taking the X90 Pro apart but would be hard to believe it's the same size if the website menions it's only half the size. And all Vivo X90 have poor battery life on mobile data - it's a shame on X90 Pro+ as they likely cheaped out on buying the X70 modem and went with a cheap solution instead. The modem is the main diference for 8Gen2 over Mediatek 9200 - but only if the manufacturer actually doesn't replace it like BBK so far has always done (otherwise they would have much better battery life on mobile data ). But yeah I would never buy it again (pro+) because of utterly poor software.

What do I need 4K video for? My screen doesn't support it nor does my TV. Hell, even my old eyes can't see in 4K 😂

I was thinking of buying the Vivo 90 Pro+, but then I found out that the phone can not be rooted. So now I will no longer be buying it.

This is global release is rubbish for your money when you buy it. I have it and I'm using it now. I regret purchasing. Is better you buy a Samsung or pixel.

A very difference experience from my X90 Pro+ it really should have been the Pro+ we got globally.

@@Techtablets This model is a bit like a forgotten model in China. Sales are low. The regular x90 is a very big seller and i think they have focused more on optimising that as it's their biggest seller in the series. I thought they released that globally as well but all the reviews seem to be for the pro model which is a pity

Definitely worth importing the Pro Plus, it's a significant bump up. The Pro feels closer to the OnePlus 11 which is a half tier below.
