      Hey Aaron - you made a checklist for optimising google search and google shopping ads. Plus you had a course which showed how to do each of the items on the checklist. I have inherited two google ads accounts that have already been setup, but looking at the metrics I see they're slowly going down and down. Both are Google Shopping campaigns. I need to figure out how to fix this ASAP and I'm hoping to get into Google Ads in a big way and start supplying this as my primary service and move away from web design and SEO. Thanks.

    Hey Aaron thanks for the video, really informative and I love the real life example, its always so helpful to see what other people's struggles are. I am actually having this exact issue at the moment. Our ad account was restructured 6 weeks ago and the ad spend and conv value has completely plummeted. We are making a x11 roas, which I would say is amazing but not in this case as it is just caused by the drop in spend. Going off what you suggested, if I was to set the ROAS now based off last 6 weeks conv value/cost, I would be setting the campaigns at x11 roas (currently their bidding strategy is max conversions). As this roas is so high and i want to work on getting this spend up (so naturally the roas will drop) would you recommend keeping the bid strategy at max conversions with no target or setting a target still?

    Should I look at 30 days data or all time data before setting ROAS for pmax campaign? How far should one go back in months because it’s so confusing? The average ROAS value keep on changing beyond a month old data. Please guide.

    Hi Aaron, thanks for this video. If target ROAS is perpetually set below the actual performance, is there a point in setting it at all?
    I see the target ROAS as more of 'stop loss' to limit the spending overall, but also target the most high intent customers. Of course the downside of that it means less traffic/clicks, but also less cost.
    The alternative of limiting spend through daily budgets seems broader and less focused on high intent users vs limiting spend through target ROAS.
    I'm experimenting with this - so would love to hear your thought.

    Hello Aaron! I have Adwords similar list audiences but I can't add them to the Pmax campaign targeting. Is it normal? Or does the Google Ads automatically use these similar audience segments if these exist in the audience manager?

    If I have to run my PMax campaign for a sale period for 10 days. Then what would be the ideal time period of running the campaign w/o any Target RoAS, in order to match it later with the Conv. value/Cost?

    Hi Aaron, great training! Thanks for the video. Just wanted to check if you recommend setting a target CPA when switching the bid strategy, or if you just leave this option? Our budgets are quite high, and we don't normally reach them, so when I've tried this it has shot the impressions up, but ROAS has been particularly low

    • @ritikbathla1147
      @ritikbathla1147 Před 9 měsíci

      Switching the bid strategies in the mid campaign, has been a nightmare for me tbh. Would really not suggest anyone doing that especially when you have shorter time period in hand 🙌🏻
      The entire time goes in the learning & adapting the bid strategy & the conversions goes for a toss

      Hi Brendon, yes I do use that method as well especially if I am seeing constant improvements in my conversion metrics.

    Target ROAS is a commercial decision - we can always lower it and get more conversions, but you try convincing a client to set his target ROAS at 250 when his breakeven is 350%

    Hey Aron thanks for this video. Suppose I am running Pmax for beauty products for 4 different product categories then which audience signal should I start with according to you should I only go with Custom segment for all 4 Asset groups for each Asset group should I have to target only custom segment & only target main keywords??

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  Před rokem

      Hi Akash, if the product categories have different price points, profit margins & traffic volumes I set them into seperate Performance Max campaigns so that I can better control the budget spending, bidding targets & optimisations. Then within each PMax campaign I would build the different Asset Groups based on products or product sub categories adding in all of the audience signal options

    My problem is Google audience networks now are creating junk traffic. I have non-speaking english people calling us for jobs and it is counting these calls as conversions. I can eliminate this with the standard Google search campaign but not performance max. How can I get to a better audience?

      Yes you can:
      - change location settings to presence only

      This won’t get rid of all of the spam but will reduce it

      You need check what the current ROAS has been in October and if this is around 500% that would be ok.
      Due to acquisition windows for conversions you don’t put as much attention on the last 7-14 days

    Great video, thanks. I'm running a Pmax campaign on a small subset of products that are bringing in very few sales. When I went to change the campaign to ROAS, Google Suggested 1,100% based on average return. Break-even is about 200% ROAS. What would you do in this situation? Should I start with 300% ROAS and increase it slowly over time? Or should I start higher?

    • @AaronYoungGoogleAds
      @AaronYoungGoogleAds  Před rokem +1

      Hi Pedro, have a look at the last 4-6 weeks of data to see what the current Conv Value/Cost is you then want to be below this by 5-15%. If the Conv. value / cost is not yet at a profitable margin I would not change the bidding and focus on other optimisation actions.
