Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

Aesthetically Dragonaire and Noivern are my favorites. Power wise, I really like Salamence and Flygon. I just really don't like that 95% of them sport a 4x weakness to ice. Flygon should have been a dragon/bug
He really should have, but Dragon bug does have a lot of weaknesses.

Dragons runs seems the most challenging just because they start off really weak early game
It’s a real shame because dragon types are my favourite types in general but I can’t run a mono type because 1. High level evos and 2. If there’s a single fairy type then the whole team becomes wet paper in my experience lmfao
@@nikkikado4079 really depends, with so many dragon types nowadays you can run over most fairies with some strategizing without risking being destroyed.
I love how Salamence and Flygon survive after 2 close wipeouts.

I've has this idea for myself to do for a Nuzlocke but I'd like to see it in a Hardcore Nuzlocke too. Any pokemon that you have never used or have rarely used (acceptions for routes where all the pokemon are ones you've used a lot will just be whichever the first encounter is like a normal nuzlocke) are the only encounters you can catch, it'll add an interesting dynamic. I think the best games for this will be Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon because of the plethora of pokemon to use

Considering that fairies came out in gen 6, right after Hydreigan, kyurem, zekrom, and reshiram were released. I think we can see who the intended victims of the fairies were.

I really wish they'd bring back challenge mode as an option. B2W2 are my favorite games in the series for a number of reasons but challenge mode made it great.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work properly as only level is increased but the stats aren't, so normal mode is difficult for having fair level caps. Challenge mode just adds a Pokemon but doesn't increase level
Edit : for reference pls watch flygon HG's steel only nuzlocke of these games. He has experimented this in end of the video

So in looking into it, there's only been two types that haven't had monotype hardcore Nuzlockes uploaded in X and Y - Ice I fully understand because just playing through it mono-type nearly ended me, but what about the Rock type? Or is it the fact that you can't get an encounter until Glittering Cave that kills it? (Connecting Cave is late enough from the X/Y Dragon run...)

I do count them, but since all opponents are at lv25 and the cap for clay’s gym just before is 36 on challenge mode… its always a breeze
