Honestly we didn't find too much historical detail to comment on but we did try where we could. What did happen though was a ridiculous number of funny moments.

Hey Animarchy, so glad to see you checking out Hell Let Loose! Not a perfect game by any stretch, but having played it since the very first closed alpha damnit if I don't love it despite its flaws.
Unrelated to HLL, but two games you might wanna add to your radar are Isonzo and Task Force Admiral. The former is a WW1 FPS set in the Italian Front while the latter is a 1942 carrier battle simulator

Made a mistake I believe, could be wrong myself but the easy 8 is the M4A3E8, the long 76 Jumbo, thats just a 76 M4A3, easy 8 has a thicker turret and upper front plate, also, 1942 T34-76 has a back turret plate, and 2 long curved side turret plates, the 1943 is more of a hexagon with rounded corners, also the russians used a copy of the C-47 called the LI-2, which is probably what your seeing
You are correct about it being a M4A3 because it has the engine deck of a A3 from what I can tell (it is generally helpful to know what the engine deck looks like with each model of sherman as it helps to at least narrow down what model it is but sometimes it doesn't help as it something that can be missed by many games) but that Sherman looks more like a M4A3E2 Jumbo with a 76mm as it has the more thicker and boxy gun mantle, duckbill track extenders, and as from what I can tell has the weld lines of the addition armor that the Jumbos are know for.
It's an anachronistic, wonky M4A3 Jumbo with a 76. These did exist after some salvaged 76 turrets were put onto Jumbo's but not until around the time of Bastogne (maybe after?) In like 1945.. which is after the time periods depicted in the HLL maps and battles.
HLL in general has a lot of weird stuff like this.
I hate to be that, “Uhm, actually…” guy, but the tank in game is an M4A3E2 (76), the E2 denoting it as and up-armored “assault tank” version of M4A3, what we now call a Sherman Jumbo, with extra armor plates welded on.
The M4A3E8, the Easy 8, is NOT a Jumbo, it had no extra armor at all in fact. The E8 was a suspension upgrade. Normal M4A3s had vertical volute suspension springs, VVSS suspension. An M4A3 with the horizontal volute suspension springs, HVSS suspension, was classified as an M4A3E8. This is true of *ANY* M4A3 with HVSS, regardless of its armament. Many people think that a Sherman requires the 76mm gun to be an E8, which is wrong. There are M4A3E8s with the 75mm and 105mm guns as well. There are also a lot who think any Sherman with a 76mm is an E8, which is also wrong, there were also plain old M4A3 (76)s with the old VVSS as well. There were not any up-armored Shermans that had HVSS either, so you can’t have an Easy 8 Jumbo.
Edit: I should clarify, when I say the Sherman modeled in game, I mean that specific Sherman you’re referring to in your comment, not all the Shermans in the game. There’s also a regular M4A3 (75), and and M4A3E2 (75), in addition to the M4A3E2 (76). There’s also an old model which used to be drivable, but currently only still exists in game as static wrecks, of an M4A1 (76).

welded hull sherman with the small driver and a-driver hatches is the m4. the m4a1 is the cast hull sherman. also the e8 designation is HVSS suspension. e4 or e6 is the 76mm variant
The 76 Sherman you were looking at is supposed to be a M4A3E2 but is the worst model in the game with only the Mantlet Armor and the Factory up armorment on the front, I think originally it was supposed to be closer to Abrams’s Sherman since all of our US tanks were 4-37 (prior to the latest update where we lost our M4A1 76), but was changed later in production to just be another E2

I used an old garand as a hunting rifle for years. 30-06 is 30-06 regardless of the barrel it comes out of. Used it cause it's what I had, not because I preferred it. A lbs of beef costs a lot more than a single round of 30-06

9:57 couple of things mixed up there. BARs have a rate of fire up to 600 RPM, not 800. Also, while the BAR was actually introduced to American officials in 1917 and technically adopted in 1917, the weapon was designated the M1918 to avoid logistical confusion (the US had a ton of weapons with the M1917 designation).
Also, HLL only features the BAR on the “slow automatic” setting. While this is liekly done for balance, during the war, keeping the gun on this setting would wear down the hydraulic buffer that reduce the RPM and over time, it wouldn’t work anymore. This would mean the gun would fire on “fast auto” exclusively. As a result, guys would train themselves to fire single shot while on the fast auto setting (which is doable. I’ve fired an M1918A2 BAR before, and I’ve done it). Some guys did have older pattern BARs that retained the semi auto feature of the WWI patterns, as the US gov’t didn’t retrofit the rate reducers into the older guns, they just installed them in new production models.

I think its hilarious when people call the M1 a hunting rifle. No. No that thing is categorically a battle rifle. It was and is meant for war. Yes it is severely outdated in terms of modern military equipment. But a motivated person with firearms training can do some serious damage with it. 8 rounds of semi-auto 30-06 on tap will absolutely demolish that unarmed unarmored group of shoppers hiding in the cleaning aisle.
Especially with FMJ rounds. Holy shit.
#Animarchy History, you should take a look at a game-in-early-access (though it is only called so because the devs keep finding new things to add) called Foxhole. As the name implies, it takes place in a WW1/WW2 era setting, though not quite our world.
that sherman is not the easy 8 becouse the suspention is diferent and the tracks are not wide which means is the sherman M4A3E3 one of the experimental versions that led to the sherman M4A3E8
That was not an m4a1 Sherman, the M4a1's represent the model with cast hulls. That is am m4 or m4a2 sherman the later is an m4a3e8

Brother, i think that the 76 sherman is actually an Easy 6 not an Easy 8. I kind a remember that the Easy 6 program is for the 76 mm gun and the Easy 8 is for the HVSS ( Horizontal Volute Spring Susnpension) System. I just kind a remember it from the chieftain.
The M4A3E8 was the HVSS program, yes, but they also had the 76mm guns.

The thing keeping me from buying HLL is all the freaking automatic weapons. Every kit can unlock either an automatic or a semi auto weapon, even the regular rifleman. If I wanted to play a WWII themed modern shooter, where everyone is running around with autos, I can just play Battlefield...

I dunno man, I run into a lot of bolt action rifles, and due to the gameplay mechanics, you'll lose if everyone is just running the automatic weapon classes, because theres no support.
