THE UK'S COOLEST CITY? (Bristol)

- This week we leave the sunshine of Wales behind and head into Bristol. A long and hot car ride with some standstill traffic sees us cross into England before meeting up with Tom's brother, Merran. Isabel's brothers come round and we take off for a walk through St Werburghs to The Farm, a farm in the middle of the city with a great beer garden! We enjoy the quirky sites and street art before heading to pub number two, The Duke of York. We have a couple more beers and play some pool. We then head back to Merran and Emily's house where Merran cooks up a storm.
You then join us again a day later, we head out to meet up with Harry and explore the Clifton area of Bristol. We catch the train and stroll through Clifton Village, and rummage through some charity shops. We then head to the White Lion and have a beer over looking the Clifton suspension bridge. We are then joined by George and decide to have a walk over the bridge itself. We then wander into the city centre, en route, Isabel tries out Bristol's electric scooters (voi). We walk along the water front, eyeing up the houseboats and day dreaming about boatlife. Next, we hop in a taxi and head to Knowle to meet up with Isabel's sister and we meet her nephew for the first time. We then head out for pizza!
The next day Isabel heads out alone to meet up with her cousin who also live in Bristol. Their adventures take them back over the suspension bridge and into Leigh Woods, where a mistake with the mic leaves Tom in charge of dubbing the sound. The group then head back to Harry's for an evening of pasta and games. The next day is our last in Bristol and we make our way back to Cornwall.
Thank you very much for watching. I hope you enjoyed a little glimps into our time in Bristol as we catch up with family and see some of this fun city.
Stay tuned as next week we have an exciting episode planned! We have just finished planning our Cornwall series and it should be good fun.
Thank you so much for watching and we’re really excited that we have hit a huge milestone of 20,000 subscribers! Thank you for all your lovely comments and messages!
Take care

That was mint! A quality bit of dubbing there Tom. If you closed your eyes it was definitely Isabel. Uncanny! 😅
😂😂😂 Tom made me laugh with his dubbing. I think he does Isobel, better than Isobel.

Great work around with the voice dubbing, actually enjoyed that haha, very well saved 👏
Lovely, fun filled video, thank you. So nice to catch up with family, isn't it? Bristol is a great city, we've been a couple of times and I loved the street art. Well, it's the birthplace of Banksy, after all. Looking forward to seeing Cornwall as I've wanted to go there for ages now but haven't managed it yet. Safe journey.

Great video as always guys!! 😃 so nice to catch up with family after being away for a while - something we’re looking forward to when we return from Europe!! ☺️☺️ really made us laugh when the mic was switched off, happens to us all the time!! 🤦🏼♀️🤣
Good to see the gand back together! Hope you enjoy your time with the family. We look forward to seeing your new style. PS love the voice overs, they should be a regular feature 😅 congrats on the 20K milestone, well deserved.
Tom and Isobel, A lovely vlog, I smiled all the way through it. It was really nice to see you both with members of your families. Lots of interesting parts of Bristol, the UK's second coolest city 😀. I can see you are so proud of Cornwall, (rightfully so), and Tom I think you're spot on about the Guinness (my favourite pint), it's just not the same in the UK. Might be worthwhile you checking out the Guinness Guru on CZcams - if you haven't seen him. Anyway, hope your having a great time in Cornwall. I look forward to your next adventure. Congratulations on the 20K subscribers. Thank you. Go easy, step light and stay free.
Great to see you both again. I love ❤️ Cornwall.
Really excited for this episodes, my mu livrd there for a time when she was young and worked for a family there when she was 16, im always told its similar to the area im from. Great video of ye catching up. Glad ye had time out. Oh those pints are terrible , ha ha ha. Congrats on 20k, ye are such a treat to watch.
Another great vid guys. Nice to meet some of your family and see the sights in Bristol. One thing that struck me is how great it is to wander around without masks and restrictions and get back to our normal life.
good to catch up with friends and family again .. 😎

Gr8t seeing u guys on home turf and your wee song 🚐 all the best!
Brilliant again, hope your going to do some blogs on Cornwall, toured there on motorbikes 10 years ago with lads from Dublin & & we absolutely loved it, gorgeous part of the world, keep it going guys
May 1 2023: Tom’s hair grows so fast! It is a bit strange to see you in the “concrete jungle”. But wonderful that you are connecting with family. Isabel has some very happy family to see her. It was nice when your brother , George, joined you both on that incredible hike. Lots of art on the buildings. The pub is very unusual. Yummy Miriam what a great feast you made for everyone. I just can not get over Tom’s wild hair through out the video. Awe the sun with the baby..so sweet.
We just watched 2 different series set in Bristol that made use of that bridge in many scenes. So much so that I’d actually looked up the history of it this week. When I saw the same bridge in the background of your IG story, I yelped, “Tom and Iz are In Bristol!!!” 😂Just love your videos.
I love Bristol so much. Great city.
Hi Tom and Iz, only getting to see the vlog now, 5 of us in a caravan fighting over one Dongle, isn't great for watching CZcams 😕😕 was well worth the wait though. Great to see you all meet up with the fam, must have been nice to see them all again, really enjoyed the "voice over dubbing" hilarious 🤣🤣 looking forward to the Cornwall vlog.. P.s nice hair chop too Tom, well needed by the end of Ireland 😜. Enjoy the rest of the week folks 👍
The graffiti tunnel was tres cool. Looking forward to seeing more of Cornwall, lived in Wadebridge, but only until I was six, clearest memories are there, Dartmoor and Padstow.
Great video, I used to get a sweaty back too on long drives or after hikes. I got them wooden bead seat cushions and it cured that. Slán
I'm heading over to the emerald Isle again tomorrow and I'm saddened that you guys have departed back to the UK. I fly into Shannon before heading down to County Kerry for an appointment. Its then back up to Limerick for 2 nights before flying back to Manchester on Friday morning.
Looking forward to your continuing adventures over the summer and thanks for some great content of your adventures so far.
I lived in Bristol for 10 years. Great city!
now you truly know the only place in the world where Guinness is the bomb is Ireland lol great video again love that funky pub .cant wait for next vlog
As a former Losti resident . welcome home! and just in time for the emmits!
Congrats on reaching 20K 🎉 Well deserved! 👏 Great to see you in Brizzle 👍 where I lived many moons ago, but still looks just as cool. Was you near Easton, as kind of looks familiar? Saying that, I lived in a few different places in Bristol and frequented various haunts there ha ha. Love the dub over btw Tom 🤣 - oh, and the Guinness ain't the same there is it 😢
Love the smell of marmite on toast! Great video guys, good to see you in England having fun 😀
Thanks guys, nothing better than marmite toast!
My, that pint of Guinness was an abomination! The loss of mike bit was funny, top man Tom!
very nice video
We love Bristol, it really is very cool!! We hope to visit again on our way back into England from Ireland. We are about to head onto the wild Atlantic way for a couple weeks first!! Get some inspo from your trip 🥰🥰
Amazing! thanks for watching guys. The WAW is awesome, i hope you have as much fun as we did! Bristol is very cool, if i was forced to live in a city that would be near the top of my list.
The voice over section was brilliant 😂
That voiceover was class, what a happy accident!
Love Bristol ❤
Was doing beara peninsula other day taught of your videos made here kinda sad to see ye gone from Ireland 🥹
Welcome back kid's!...that image on your laptop looks so like Cape Point
To be honest its the apple default, i never bothered to change it, haha
If you ever give up on van life, I'm sure we can find you a spot in Bristol somewhere !!..... Nice video - Thank you. 👍
Should’ve went to north Bristol, so much more to see
Hi great video again on your cornwall adventures are you coming all the way down west if so would be great to meet up somewhere
Bristol : Living in the Nuclear Shadow !
You guys really like living in Bristol - within 30 miles of the Hinkley Point nuclear power plant ?
The Hinkley Point nuclear power plant occurred Fire 4 times , Leaks 12 times from 2001 !
Last year , a riot broke out in the Bristol city center where burning cars including police cars and some policemen were hurt .
15 rioters were sentenced to jail up to 10 years , and a number of rioters are still on trial .
It’s Inverness! It’s about -10*C all year round......way cool.....the coolest! 🤣
Love the outro. Bad Guinness is a crime
Dubstar Tom!!
Hahahaha!!! I did tell ye that the Guinness is mother's milk in Ireland... hard to get a creamy pint in the UK unfortunately
To serve a pint like that in Ireland would destroy a pubs reputation ..never to recover!
Excellent. 😁
Mind you, tis LEE Woods not LAY woods myyy deeer. Arrright my luuuvvv?
Only one place to drink the perfect pint of Guinness is it's home country Ireland.
I thought for a minute Tom had the haircut I CRAVE him to have..
Alas..
I was mistaken..
Hi Tom and Iz we watched a really good programme on BBC iplayer on the ALBA channel last night called Trusadh it's in Gaelic with english subtitles but it was really fun and interesting all about van lifers in Scotland love to hear if you get to watch it and what you think?
Will give it a watch, thank you
Delighted you now know a bad pint of Guinness when you see it. But that does look brutal ok.
haha, yeah i have been taking notes from the Guinness Guru. this was the worst pint i have ever been handed though
@@LostInTransit The best thing to have plenty of, in order to pull a decent pint of Guinness, is patience. No one should ever be in a rush.
The dubbing 😂😂😂
I think Tom is going to be in the doghouse somehow!
The pints of beer in the pub don't look as good as the Guinness back in Ireland!
Is Bristol really cooler than Brighton?
that’s the only other contender to be fair
I live in Bristol
Loved it but I can't be the only one who gets creeped out by the Teletubbies baby.
Ah that's a bad pint of Guinness lol your gona miss the good stuff
How do you afford all of this?
Well we live in a van so cost of living is fairly low, when this video came out we were mostly living on some savings but for the last few years we have been living off CZcams revenue, which is fairly low, but as I say we live in a van so isn’t too expensive. Hope that helps out (we also made a video about our income and stuff not that long ago if you want to know more)
6:10 look out George Lucas a new FX king has arrived. Top kek
Terrible Guinness, The Guinness Guru would not be happy ☹️
Sh1t Guinness lads!
9:30 oh shit is that a pitbull? There's a good chance that ain't going to end well with a baby in the house
Im from ireland, living in bristol...I'll be honest, I find it to be okay in parts and pretty much an over hyped shit hole the rest haha(no offence) like dublin 🤣😅 students acting like teenagers, too many woke idiots and chavs all over the place haha 👍great video though 😁
But tell us how you really feel... 😉
You guys, or in this case you lot, are good fun..
Unless it's a cunning disguise hiding a dark hearted duo - I shall be watching for any slips that give the game away. I thought I'd found something very off when I saw the look of that olive and asparagus pizza but it wasn't yours so you got away with it again.
hahaha, you will never penetrate our elaborate disguise
Lets face it guys you two look so uncomortable in a city environment its unbelievable
Hahaha, this is very true 🤣
Jees guys I feel so sorry for ya you had to go back to Brexit britain with all them price hikes and lorry jams not to mention being lead by an idiotic liar, I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Love from Ireland, I bet you wish you were back here again eh! ☘️
What is it with hipsters thinking Bristol is 'cool and edgy'? The gentrification of Bristol killed the vibrant music scene and everything that made Bristol interesting and unique. Now it's just over priced and over rated. Yes it was good 15-20+ years ago (I lived there 38 years and most people born there preferer how it was). It's only people who move there who think its cool. Half the shops are empty and the other half is over priced shops like Apple and Hugo Boss (you can tell who they are trying to attract - hipsters). If your a mid different, a geek, alternative there is very little here anymore. Soon there won't even be a night life as all the venues are closing down and turned into flats. Enjoy your over priced yuppie hutches with nothing to do.
Unfortunately I would say this is a nation wide trend. We grew up in Cornwall and so Bristol was always the big city where the cool stuff happened. Haha.
I guess the truth is anywhere is cool if you’re comparing it to Bodmin
@@LostInTransit Have you ever been to Kingswood or Southmead in Bristol? I would sooner Bodmin as you at least have the moors.
@@LostInTransit Yes, I blame the Londoners obsessed with making everything 'rustic'. They are done with Cornwall and are now having to go up to the North Yorkshire coast. Next they will discover Shropshire and ruin that.
