Wow, this puts the movie into an all new perspective. I cannot imagine the horror of the passengers fighting for their lives. RIP to all the souls lost aboard the mighty Titanic.
Without the breathtaking music from James Horner you can actually hear (and almost fell) the authentic suffering of all those poor people. The music is somehow softening all the pain, panic and terror of that fateful night.
Imagine your in a lifeboat and hearing all the agonizing screaming of all the people didn't make it to the life boat is just to painful specially when all things go in silent
@Dywane Carter all the survivors died. Titanic Sank almost 100 Years ago. Or atleast 108 years ago. U would be dead from now. U would know the news paper about it. Now u will go search in Google about these thins to spread. Fake rumors u was there :)
Yes, unfortunately I wasn't there to record the dialogue when it was filmed haha. And there isn't many sound effects out there to fit this scenes scenario. Look up "man yelling sound effect" and see the options I had to choose. Mostly you'll just get "Ahhs!"
Just an element of curiosity. Of the 1,503 people who perished on the ship, 107 were women, and 54 were children, roughly 11% of the casualties. Yet, in just about every Titanic movie I have seen, the screams of panic always seem to be rather high pitched, indicating far more women than there actually were? In reality, if one were on the Titanic right before it sank, they would be hard pressed to find the women and children in that sea of people? (No pun intended).
Walter Henry Nichols: “Then a horrible shriek went up, cries for help and weird shouts. You can imagine what it was like, 1500 of them. If you’ve ever been round when they are feeding a kennel of dogs that’s the only thing I can think of that it sounded like and that kept up for half an hour, growing fainter and fainter as the minutes passed. There was no other sound, just the crying of people.” I'd think most of the women and children left on the Titanic as it sank was still in their cabins, drowning there. This movie exaggerates the sound of the stern sinking aswell. But the sound of the people shouting in the water sounds a bit like an angry football match.
Yes, movies about the Titanic do seem to show many women still on the sinking Titanic that there actually were. For example in James Cameron's movie there's many women in the crowd of people during the sinking. I think Titanic movies take some creative liberties on the disaster and have more women died. Most people are not aware of how many women actually died on the Titanic. Most people assume that a bunch of women also died but in reality only 107 women died. I myself didn't know only 107 women died on the Titanic until I did research. If you would've asked me before I did research how many women died on the Titanic I would've said maybe 500 or 400 at the least. So I think movies about the Titanic often play into that ignorance of the average viewer.
robiking011 You’re right. Only 107 women perished. Also, filmmakers take a lot of liberties when making a film about the ship... it seems to come with the territory
Increíble!!! Sentí más realismo sin la música de efecto, es como si estuviera ahí, escuchando los gritos, el sonido del agua y los músicos tocando al final, me hizo sentir como lo vivió la gente el 1912, que aterrador y triste a la vez :´(
But.. the scene of Smiths dead.. it DEF sounded different in the movie. There is that little sound I will never forget right before the glass shatters.... cant describe it.. its like.. a buildup or something.
Have you ever seen the movie about the Lusitania sinking? It was very well acted and did a much better job with making ship lights look like what they really looked like in the 1910s than this movie did.
In reality the musicians were said to have put their instruments down half an hour before the ship sank but it looks better if they are playing right to the end.
Very interesting. Personally, I think the film would have profited from a more minimalistic score; it works to great effect when the scene is presented raw and real. This example here is similar to what "Titanic" would probably have sounded like had someone like Michael Kamen composed the soundtrack (of course not completely without any music). James Horner is wonderful, but his sound is very rich and bombastic - I think this is more terrifying.
Yeah, there aren't many options out there of a crowd of people yelling. Imagine paying a bunch of people to scream. Probably isn't within a sound effect libraries budget to do so so not many to choose from.
The survivors of the actual disaster said no screams in any movies can compare to the screams of the people in the actual disaster and that the scariest part wasn’t so much the screams, but rather the complete silence that quickly came after the screams.
This definitely shows the movie from a different perspective and is probably how it actually sounded like in real life titanic in 1912.
I think in real life, the band plays, so there's music right there
Chan ArtDub Tv Yeah
Except for the instrumental band

Al D pretty sure he means he was a passenger of titanic or something
Dywane Carter
No you weren’t. The titanic sank over 100 years ago. The last surviving titanic victim, Millvina Dean, died back in 2009.
Dywane Carter what’s your name? i’ll do the research myself.
This is so much scarier without the music. I've always been fascinated by the Titanic and these scoreless clips are disturbing but amazing.
the sounds more scary than the real movie
Ye
That’s the point. To sound more like the real one.
Wow, this puts the movie into an all new perspective. I cannot imagine the horror of the passengers fighting for their lives. RIP to all the souls lost aboard the mighty Titanic.
To think that this not only happened, but it looked and sounded EXACTLY like this. - maybe even to the T. Unbelievable.
That would’ve been primarily females and children, for the men on that boat were considered strong enough to swim.. in freezing cold water, yea right
