That is one heavy duty floor jack! This reminds me of when my dad adapted a Western plow from a Jeep truck onto his '72 Chevy K10. He had to fab four frame brackets and and the struts from the plow frame to the wheel arches on the truck frame. I was in 7th grade at the time...
You were having too much fun; you were sounding tired after that day, but excellent video. Thanks to your fabrication skills and instruction I hope to mount one of these on my truck, but I ain't paying for a new one out of the store. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for another entertaining and edumacational visit into your world. The "Ole Two Finger" works for a lot of things ya do fer yerself. Medjurin' bolt holes...scotch...hiken' up yer britches but damn hard to convey on to the next feller iffen you still want dem fingers for future medjurin' of yer own. Love the vids Jeff...Thank You.
ElderlyIron! I could sit and watch your videos for hours. You make your videos so interesting with your chit chatting and your fast forward here and there, all so your bits of music that fit right in there. You have great talent all around.
Hey Jeff the lower mount not sure if you figured it out at the end of your video the mount that the pins go through to mount the plow to the truck at 7:37 you have it upside down and all your bolts really should be lock nuts the vibration of the plow will loosen them up when you do the final bolt up. And you should up grade the alternator and put dual batteries in it and get good batteries. I'd use either diesel truck batteries or what I did for a guy on his box truck that had a liftgate on it they'd run the battery dead all the time put a marine battery in it.
Hi Jeff, you really seem to miss working on the dirt, just shovel a bit of ye old dirt under the truck on that nice concrete floor and that will help ease the transition lol. Just for structural how about welding a cross piece between the frame ends that still allows blade and bracket removal? Enjoyed the video, you sure are good at customizing on the fly. Still drooling over your garage..... Please, a tour....we're dying here..... :)
I never gave it a thought on how many components held a plow on a truck ! , I now know just to buy a truck with a plow already installed . I see them around Pittsburgh Pa for around $4000 to $5000 .
A nice bit of fab work Jeff. You never stop to amaze me with your work. I learned something new too, how to mark your holes with spray paint, that's something I never thought of, thanks!
Glad you figured out that the spreader was on upside down... Nice work there sir, and you are a master with the torch (from the first episode). Great job!
My favorite of all your video's to date is definitely these six part 69 GMC 3/4 tonn4x4 Meyer snow plow custom install . Jeff sure hope you can upload some past footage of this awesome 69 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 plowing snow . If you have nothing to upload , then hopefully this Winter you will . Keep the video's coming for all your subscribers to enjoy 😊
Howdy,Jeff; As Always very entertaining, lets C when 'ole blue is hooked & ready 2 shove the snow ! Eeeeeee-Hawwwwww ! Thanks Again,From The Maritimes In Canada
That power steering box will never rust as long as you have a little leak - as shown in your video. Never fix the leak - or you'll have to replace the power steering box in 70 or 100 years, whichever comes first. :D
Hey Jeff, wish you would have clamped the piece when you were drilling. Have a friend with two nubs on his left hand that were the victims of drilling unclamped.
These jobs take time, dont they? It always takes longer to fit something when its a custom job and sodding nothing lines up. Hopefully it will be done before the snows all gone. Ha Ha! Ive fitted winch bars like that too. take care. Nice that you missed all the brake lines. Dropping the blade would only work going down hill or on the flat.
Just snug it for the test? well don't forget because you can be like be when replacing brakes on my car, I just put 2/5 lugnuts on one wheel cause I thought I would take it off again and the next day when I went to take it off there was only 2 on it so that's the noise I heard. luckly its not used on main road
Nice customizing! Should work fine
MAN that is a plow load of work. Nice job. Keep up the great work. Videos are very well done.

That GMC has a nice ring to it when you slap the hood.

I sometimes use it's cousin the "hand span" when measuring out sections of a wire harness- "yah- that looks about right".

canvids1 that's what I've been doing for the past two days since finding these!
Keep up the good work Jeff thanks for the vid.
Well done, never easy trying to do this sort of task of fitting something to another vehicle which the brackets have to be made/modified.
Jeff I hope that old girl doesn't get bent up plowing, great reuse on the plow.
Best part of these videos is that you didn't cut up the truck.
Great video could you do a walk around of your shop/property?
i love the rabraction !!!!!

You better hurry up Jeff . . . it's snowin' and you won't find the plow . . . lol ;) Rog Good work
It's never easy when you are "making it fit", is it? Nice job so far Jeff.
I never gave it a thought on how many components held a plow on a truck ! , I now know just to buy a truck with a plow already installed . I see them around Pittsburgh Pa for around $4000 to $5000 .
that is a big project

Been waiting for this!

Changing the fit on something like this is quite time consuming. You're a natural for customizing Jeff : )
"I know, just drop the blade you'll stop." LOL.

Well, at least the goats weren't trying to eat the camera this time.
lot of up's and downs on that one
whats the funny looking hole on the front fender? drivers side?
nice vid. but i cant help but ask what # rating is that hoist you are playing with????
Getting there slowly, time consuming doing that kind of work making things fit.
For a minute there (around 6:30) it looked like you were using some sadistic weightlifting machine at the gym!
