People don’t understand they most likely told max to not make it to hard so people can actually complete it
Shame they make it so easy for people that are actually good at the game like me just boring like I want it to be a challenge instead of beating it by 1 second
@@JensenR12 yeah if your mildly good or use assists it’s such an east time to beat I’d say try beat the pole time but then again it’s nit even as realistic

Tips to beat this challenge:
- Turn off all assists: TC will restrict your power if you have it on and ABS promotes understeer while trail braking so have them both off
- Practice the art of late braking into turns, trail braking through mid-corners, it’ll help you shave few tenths off your lap time
- Get comfortable with getting back onto full throttle bit earlier than you think and you’ll save time
- don’t hesitate to take short cut and use all the curbs with your inner tyres just on the white line so you don’t invalidate your lap

You can tell by the hairpins that Max is using ABS... so there's that.
@@expat8460 Wheel, always miles ahead of joystick, if possible, get a serious direct drive wheel and practice.

I actually enjoy the challenge of trying to do these pro challenges on controller, too. It's much harder than wheel. You have to be completely fault free.
The reality of these pro challenges is that yeah, obviously Max can probably go faster, but it's still a very challenging lap time to nail for about 70% of F123 players. It's taken me about a day or two each to nail the previous three pro challenges.
Getting this time puts you in the top 30-ish% of times on the EA time trial boards. And trying to nail this lap time teaches you how to drive better in the game in general, too... you're forced to eliminate previously unrealised driving style mistakes, improve your cornering, maximise your setup, etc.
It would be silly to have Max do a 1:25 and only have absolutely top tier players be able to match it. I think its a good balance of challenging but not intense pro-sim times. I've been playing the game for 4 months and I tend to clock in at about 3 seconds behind the fastest time on most tracks.

In this game, the track is optimal and the tires are always optimal and no traffic+optimal fuel(infinite). So even with TC/ABS he will be faster than the 2023 record. I think he'll be a lot faster than this in this game.😆

Yeah, did the 35 lap race recently but didn't even get a sub 1:30... not even close.
That Laptime is 2 Seconds slower than esport laptimes in F1 23. So not really fast

I mean it took me 3 laps to beat it after downloading a setup
This challenge was so hard for me, after like an hour of trying and my hands hurting from squeezing the wheel so hard, I managed to beat it by less than a tenth I believe. I was like 4 tenths quicker in S1 (Probably one of my favourite sectors of any track), I was about the same pace in S2 (sometimes quicker sometimes slower), but the third sector... The third sector of Suzuka broke me that day. I drove multiple laps that were on pace to beat Verstappen but then I get to the chicane and I lose 5 tenths, consistently .5 seconds of time lost EVERY. SINGLE. LAP. The lap that finally beat Verstappen had some rear locking into the last corner and mentally I was prepared to do another hour of pain but somehow I managed to save the spin (kind of) and the extra rotation set me up quite good for the next corner and I got on throttle quick enough that the last corner was no problem. Beat it with no time to spare but beat it regardless. (No assists btw so that's probably why I kind of struggled with locking up in the last chicane)
You do realize that Max is considered one of if not the best Sim racer in the world.. so.. hard to believe you beat his time

@@JS-ll8nkthat time was i think 2-3 seconds off the top times. Max doesnt play F1, therefore he isnt too good but in iRacing he is a beast which honestly is more important
Tip: dont squeez your wheel so godamn hard. Be gentle with it

Dude is freaken quick.. closest I can manage is .6 off. I think these challenge's should have a tier system too them though like how they would in GT7 licence challenges to make us norms have a chance to get at least some rewards for our pain

0:50 it's really a habit of Max to reposition his right foot after the exit of a corner. saw him do this every time they should this pedal cam even in other videos

its so he can he use more of the tip of the foot to accelerate, as its easier to module with the gas with that part rather than the base of the foot

Everyone saying Max probably did one or two laps... Possibly, but if you count how many laps of this track he's done across all sims he's probably done 10, 000 laps at least.

He can easily go faster than this, EA is not gonna post an unattainable lap time, EA F1 games are already on thin ice fan support wise so they don't need another reason for fans to hate them.
When I try to go flat out through 130R I always turn too late and fly off😂

For me it's Eau Rouge at Spa, I can't do it flat out even with a wheel. I know what the problem is, my steering is too aggressive and I don't know when to start the turns.
I have been saying for a long time there needs to be more interaction between F1 and the game , max is the best at doing that , if after practice or after qualifying one of the drivers puts in an exceptional lap if codenasters could put a ghost car with there lap time that would be great.

@@soniaellis163 I doubt he was really trying tbh they probably wanted to make the “challenge” more accessible to casual players cause that time was garbage compared to the times I see in ranked.
it would be, but I'm sure they shoveling out beaucoup bucks to the drivers for these promos, doesn't sounds reasonable for them unfortunately. Even just to get them to put a ghost of them in would require some pay and agreements behind the scenes.

I'm dreading having another go at Japan... I've got every corner down except that wide 180 turn that leads onto the back straight... I don't know why, it should be easier than the other corners. I seem to lose the delta there every time. My best attempt is 1.28.381, few hundredths off. Occasionally I make that corner in the green then blow it at the last chicane. Max is just a machine at that track. That quali lap he did there at the Japan Grand Prix this year was spectacular.
I Would also love to see McLarens Livery from Silverstone and Singapore/Suzuka ❤

@@Skafiskafnjak51 F1 drivers have complained for years about unrealstic these games are. Max was probably forced to do this by Red Bull marketing and didn't put in much effort in.
@@PeterTeal77 I doubt that’s the reason. It’s more likely this was an agreed lap time by the PR department to set so that even the casual player could have a chance of beating it. If anything the assist are probably slowing him down on purpose so he doesn’t just set a world record lap time that can’t be beat by even the top 1% players lol.

Well didn't receive helmet Sainz. Beat the time of max. I beat the time then internet falls out so reset my time while I beated it. I emailed EA several days ago. No response. Wauw what an game.

Nice of him to sandbag and make the challenge easy for the casual player lol the average lap times I saw at Suzuka last week when it was on the ranked rotation was in the high 1.26 hell even I was doing mid to low 1.27 and I’m just a filthy casual.
I mean, there was a "personal best" in the top left corner of 1:12:something... Wonder if that's how fast he can really go.
@@Weerknuffelbeer that’s for sector time it’s his best sector 2 cause there’s no way to get into the 1.12 around this track. Keep looking at the top left corner when he reaches sector 3 his personal best goes back to 1.29. The only reason I’m sure he’s sandbagging is cause I’m a filthy casual player and I can easily get into the mid to low 1.27 without assists and that’s in qualifying not time trial so my tires can easily get cooked if I go too hot into a corner.

@@khebazzz yeah that’s pretty much what I suspected like I doubt he even had a custom setup probably used one of the default ones or something. You can also see in the video he doesn’t use the curbs as much as most top players do that’s probably cause he doesn’t know he can abuse those corners more than in real life.
@EA Sports F1 it would be very nice to answer my questions regarding not getting the helmets from Verstappen and Sainz. They just ignore us.
Does his revs look funny? My revs progress during time-trial, but his look more like they do during a race qualifying. That means he has 5kg less fuel if I'm correct. That would explain why he is able to corner but can also pull back 2 10ths on the straight. Regardless, I've beaten him by a 10th.

Thats the throttle from his fastest lap before in time trial, not a racing line
it's a telemtry line from a previous lap, skinny means more throttle and thick is where he was braking.
