I heard Gordon makes almost $1 million for competing at ADCCbecause of all of his sponsors. I would love to see him go to Craig‘s tournament, but he probably has contracts where he’s not allowed to. I’m just going off what I heard on CZcams. I don’t know if it’s right or not.

Meh, he’s 1 ADCC title away from tying Galvao at 6, so two away from having the record. I think it would be cool to see him do CJI next year since it’s going to be every year. So he could still do ADCC in 2026. I don’t think CJI needs Gordon to compete this year, it wouldn’t change much. BUT if he does it next year it would be very entertaining! Just my two cents :-)

Big prizes for athletes bring attention aswell lol Didnt Mayweather lie about his prize money at least at the start so the fans/promoters viewed it as a huge spectacle with more on the the line and eventually promoters would pay him that if people started showing up to see something worth so much... I think it has merit if you can back it up.

Sponsors are excited by provable data, not arena size. I wouldn't be surprised if the arena change and image that comes from that was more about them being able to get more when they sell the brand later. They're literally building ADCC brand at the expense of the competitors. Its the same play most businesses seem to run these days. Pump the business at expense of workers.

Motar is an idiot. Craig isnt lying about the 20k. Every other major BJJ comp pays $20k+ and they are not being mentioned in this whole ordeal. I'm pretty sure if ADCC paid the same as other comps and not HALF AS MUCH, none of this would be an issue.

I think CJI and UFC Fight Pass have the right idea. UFC just doing super fights basically and CJI can basically do that by enticing high level talent to switch from ADCC to CJI.

I love Craig and he is definitely the most entertaining man in grappling. People are missing the point with CJI and ADCC profitability, though. Mo is trying to turn ADCC into a sustainable business where athletes are paid out of revenues generated by sponsors and viewership - and I think his point about booking T Mobile to increase both is valid. CJI is funded by a one-time donation of 1M dollars, and they are not charging for viewership or admission (as far as I know) and I don’t believe they have sponsors, meaning they are not generating revenue to invest back into future events. I am a huge Craig and B Team fan. I just hope this doesn’t deal a mortal blow to ADCC and then fail to provide a similar platform moving forward due to its lack of a sustainable business model.
