- Welcome to Outtherenomad, in this episode I'm excited to share my new thru hiking tent. The Luxe Hiking Gear, Hexpeak Tipi 2 Person Ultralight Trekking Pole Tent. This is my first tent from Luxe Hiking Gear and I'm very impressed. In this video I'll go over spec's for the Hexpeak Tipi as well as a full set-up. I will also be showing one of the many optional accessories this tent offers. The 1.5 person inner tent. Which is a bug net and bath tube floor combination. As always I hope you find this video informational. Thank you for watching.

Thank you to everyone for the support it really means a lot. Stay amazing everyone! Don't forget to get out there.😎
I used a geertop pyramid fly with a sea to summit nano bug net and an SOL Eblanket as a ground cloth on the PCT and it worked well
Bought this tent as well! Cheers for the instruction vid! Atb, new subscriber from the Netherlands 😊
Hi Nomad, there is a pull string at the top of the inner, so you can tighten it and get that mesh out of your face, you can also lift the whole set up by putting something under your walking pole or use a walking pole connecting tube to put two together.
Also you can hang up the tent by the loop on top. I love this tent.
Thank you, great tips! I've also been loving this tent. Lots of fun and simple. How long have you been using yours?
Just subscribed 120. Will be watching some videos later with a comment like this one have had a lot of time in nine over the last few years.
Thank you! 😊 Hope you enjoy. In either case I look forward to your feedback. Have a great day
That tent is going to be great for your thru hikes.
Thats what I'm hoping. Differently roomier lol!
I modified mine with 550 cord to pitch to the ground & I use a friendly sweet bug net on the inside. It’s definitely my most used tent.
Sounds like a great modification to make. Thanks for the idea!
I've been trying to get into hunting and I'm loving your outdoor gear videos!
Thanks man! Let me know how that goes. Love to hear some hunting stories!
@@outtherenomad8556 I've had a small handful of misadventures already! 🤣
Best way to learn. Most my greatest adventures would be considered mishaps lmao.
Great review, subbed! 🤘
I'm having a hard time deciding on the regular or XL. I'm 5'10, but will probably bring my dog along winter camping. Think there would be enough room for the stove and my dog with the regular Hexpeak? Thanks!
-Mark
I would go with the XL to provide extra room for the pooch. Depending on the breed of dog and how far your planning on traveling in general. You my be able to get away with regular. Great comment! I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes!
I ordered it and it shipped out this morning so I'll give it a go with the smaller version. I'll have a video up on my channel in the near future!

Hey ! Another tip: don't connect the inner part to those plastic rings inside the fly, instead use the pegs outside. Also, for perfect pitch with the inner chamber, 140cm pole Is the right lenght. Great tent !
Thank you! I will definitely try that in the future. Great comment!
Use it for winter
Can it pack down smaller than that?
you can pull the top of the inner tent higher
Does it come with that center pole? or do we need to buy that separate?
It doesn't come with one. They sell one separately on their website. Trekking poles work great. You can also cut a stick to length, the point at the peak is reinforced so you should damage it.
Have you used this tent in any bad weather conditions? and are there any problems with condensation?
I've used it in wet and rainy conditions but nothing I'd call stormy yet. As soon as I do I'll make a after first season review. As far as condensation I haven't experienced any problems so far. It is well ventilated around the bottom and has a decent sized vent at the top of the door. Great questions and thank you for the comment! Safe journey's!
I have the Minipeak. I spent a lot of time seam sealing. Still problems. I got spray waterproofing and did the whole outside and also the inside seams. Still getting a puddle near the other door. I couldn’t tell if it came from the zipper or the vent because I set it up in the yard and left it all night in a storm. I am going to get some plastic for the ground as the light blue Walmart 6x8 tarp is porous. I am going to spend some time in it in the rain before I possibly take it on the trail. Hopefully I can fix this as I like the weight and easy setup. My cheap Coleman tent weighed a ton but never dripped like this.
Thanks for the info. I also love the weight and ease of set-up. Although if its going to leak in bad conditions I may have to rethink it. Please let us know how your experience goes. Safe journeys!
I finally found a few stitches near the top and sealed it from the inside. Two days of rain and it’s finally dry.
The actual weight is 1,5kg
