Completely agree. Had an original car, and then a facelift up until March last year. Preferred the facelift interior and the fact it made android Auto touchscreen, but like you I cared so little about all that when it came to driving it. Still probably the best riding car I've owned as well.
100% it is the best car in its class! This vehicle still holds the NURBURGRING laptime record for a sports saloon that is RWD and available as an everyday driver! Amazing 7 years and it still holds the record....BMW and MERCEDES had to put all wheel drive and 4 wheel steering match this beast! but real cars are RWD and have no traction control.. that is what Alfas are all about ... balance.. engineering and Swaggg!
Awesome to see an objective review from a BMW owner. I've had BMWs all my life, including an M2C and M5C, and recently owned a Stelvio QV and moved to a Giulia QV. I just love the Alfas. They remind me of what BMWs used to do in the early 2000s. I don't need big screens, it has to be functional and give you driving pleasure.
How would you compare the driving sensations/feel with the M2C? Did you need to get used a lot to the bigger size of the Giulia when comparing to the M2C?
@@Franzino not at all. Giulia feels about the same in size although its a little heavier and longer. I think the sharper steering makes it feel smaller than it is.
That is a good question. My M2C was a stick and so felt fun even at normal speeds. however when pushing it, at time the suspension (fully stock) felt a bit jittery and not very compliant. But thats really at like 7 or 8 tenths. The QF feels fun and composed all the time. It never lets you forget its a special car... the brakes are a bit too sensitive at slow speeds. the sounds it makes are more pronounced than the M2Cs. THe QF feels more special more of the time. At fast speeds the QF doesnt disappoint. BUT the QF feels like it runs out of revs too fash where the M2C never really feels like that. Just so much usable torque everywhere. Overall, both great cars but the M2C would still be my preference if I didnt have a family to haul around, mostly for the ability to shift my own gears. But I dont think there is much that can beat the balance of the QF across so many categories. Lastly, lets not forget that BMW has HUGE aftermarket support and community. The Alfa is far behind in that respect but that doesn detract from its experience. What a great problem to have!
Great video, especially from a BMW driver. After 5 years of ownership, I still get goosebumps every time (not daily) I get to drive my Giulia Q. It may not have the latest infotainment technology (which is actually a plus as far as I'm concerned because I don't like those big laptops with massive touch screens) and the resolution of the rear camera, I couldn't care less. It's all about the driving. The only car that could replace my Q is a F12, so that already says a lot how good the Q really is.
I own one. And it's just so special. I changed over from a C63S and there are things about the AMG that are objectively better. But I'd never go back. When the time comes, I don't think I'll replace it. I'll just buy something else and the Giulia can retire to the garage. Every car since my first car, many years ago, has been a performance car. I've had many. But nothing compares. I'm utterly besotted with it.
Absolutely agree. I have had mine for 5+ years and it’s not going anywhere. In fact my wife has allowed me to get the new ct4 V Blackwing and keep the Alfa. I love them both.
Say what you will about an engineering masterpiece like BMW or Audi, but NOTHING matches the passion and driveability and beauty of Alfa Romeo. You are a part of the machine.
@@PointShiftDrive FYI, Alfa Romeo offered a six-speed manual for the QV in Europe in left-hand drive only. In six years they managed to built 1,500 examples. Chris Harris test-drove one and concluded that, while the manual was okay, the ZF 8HP was the better choice. It is that good! It is not your grandfather's slushbox! P.S. I own a 2018 Ti Sport with the Q2 Performance Package. I've owned six Alfa Romeos. The first being a 1969 !750 Spider Veloce purchased new. They are about the driving experience!
This interior will age much better than these techy cars of today. I think it's a beautiful classy interior. I have a 2017 QV in Rosso Competizione with the Sparco seats.
Yes, performance car First! You don’t buy this for luxury reasons or how good the stereo sounds. You buy it for its marvellous engine, amazing chassis and balance, and that ZF transmission. I’m lucky I get to experience this anytime I feel the need for speed. Great review on this beast 👍 BTW, I have two car seats in the back, so that’s more than manageable from a real world perspective!
Have a 2019. It’s on Michelin pilot 4s tires and it transforms the car. Insane grip and handling, I put down the glue like stuck to the road feeling down to the aero and active aero on the car which was developed by Ferrari engineers, namely phillipe Krief. It’s insane how well the car puts the power down, and I drive in race nearly all the time. Engine is a masterpiece , and it pulls hard to 7k rpm
You really get what the designers’ objectives were for the QV. Great balance of performance, looks, comfort, and usability. It’s really a four door GT car. Love it on road trips. Kinda wish I got the carbon seats as they really make the interior look extra special.Tried them again in the showroom recently and they fit well for me. I would miss the heated seats but maybe they won’t be that cold with the Alcantara inserts. I really miss the excellent brake feel in the BMWs I’ve had over the past 40+ years. I’ve found the last two generations of BMWs not to put a smile on my face. I love the cockpit. A favorite feature is the graceful sweep of the Nappa leather dash with the digital display secondary so you can almost imagine it as an old school analog car. The rear compartment could have been made larger and the entry easier but the lines of the car would not have been as perfect. Love the well balanced review. Looks like you’re located in Marin County. That highway pavement looks perfect.
I had a fully loaded 2017 giulia qv, fell in love with it, lost it an accident. Immediately went and bought a new stelvio qv as I now have 2 kids but in 3 years going back to sports sedan. Will definitely come down to the manual m3 or the Giulia qv. I just wish they put a V8 in the ct4 blackwing. That would have been the ultimate daily 6 speed car. Brother has the ct5 blackwing manual, makes the m5 feel like an electric car. Anyway you can do a comparison of the Macan gts, x4m, stelvio quadrifolgio. I think the world will be surprised at the results.
I have a set of Pilot Sport 4S in the garage waiting until this November for install. Need to get some more use out of the P-Zeros. I knew there was a wait and ordered them in advance. Took about 6 months as the rears were on back order.
Is this guy moaning about the interior because it doesn’t have a plasma TV for dials and infotainment? And that makes it laughable? I own a giulia and struggled to listen to this review. Best car in the class bar none. Greatest chassis and drivability.
This was an honest review. If you watched it in its entirety you’d know I really came away liking the car. But at this price point buyers do expect more. You know they do what you sit in an Audi or BMW. Even the Porsche Macan is really nice inside. I think this car is fantastic. The time I had in the car made me really want one. Still do. But it’s just not a perfect car. The interior isn’t the best. I think they could have spent a little more time making it better. But I don’t think it’s a deal breaker on this car. If you are considering an Alfa, you look past all that. Your job as a buyer/owner is to enjoy your purchase and be happy. My job as a reviewer is set you expectations before you buy. Simple as that. Enjoy your wonder car 🚗
I totally agree with you. I'm driving an Alfa Romeo GT and every time i drive it , everyone you pass turn around to have a look. 😂thanks for the video.
Have owned three Alfas in my lifetime over 34 years from 1974 so all rear wheel drive. Once you “get” Alfas you can never go anywhere else. Pity is Ill health has forced the sale of the last Giulietta but would buy a Giulia, not this one at my age, in a flash. Thanks for the review.
It’s not an Italian M3. Alfa Romeo has been delivering sports sedans for years and is the actual founder of the sports sedan (look it up) It’s more like the return of the KING!
Yes, Alfa had a sports sedan first. But they just haven’t had an offering for years. So I don’t see them as being the best because they got there first. BMW has a much richer history with sedans and for way more iterations. But at the end of the day, I am reviewing this car for what it is. And how it applies to todays market choices.
Thank you. CZcams doesn’t reward good cinematography unfortunately. Just vlog style videos. You can help by sharing my channel. That really goes a long way. Thanks again for watching
The analog gauges are super cool. Digital screens are cheaper to make, so car makers load up on them. The interior is a clean, elegant design from Milanese design houses. Its the finest sport sedan in the world for the price and the performance you get. A fantastic car!
What a beautiful performer. To me, a 6-speed manual would make this car perfect. I actually thought a manual was not an option but you said there is an option for the manual in Europe? Not having a manual option for the States is a real missed opportunity. One of the reasons I enjoy driving my Type R just to drive it is because of that slick shifting Honda engineered 6-speed manual. Thanks for the review. Keep up the great work. Subscribed!
The manual was available during the first year or two. I think Alfa has since just stuck to making the auto for simplicity of manufacturing. But I agree, it’s a missed opportunity here in the US. Congrats on the CTR. Can’t go wrong there. Thanks for watching!
@@PointShiftDrive Thanks. I just saw that myself about the Giulia. Just did a quick search and used Giulia's with a manual do not even show up here in the US :( I don't even know the cost of importing one. Again such a missed opportunity or maybe Alfa Romeo is saving the best for last before electrification. One can only hope. Thanks again for the video. Keep up the good work.
I own one in the exact same year and color. I would take the Alfa Romeo again and again over any generation M3. What Alfa was able to do is to make a car that was bespoke and nota cookie cutter car which BMW makes every year. The handling and looks and that beautiful engine alone is enough for me. Most people who say they prefer M3 are the ones that own it for a while and cant bring to say Alfa is better then they have to admit they are owning the wrong car.
Love your review, you really placed it in the spot where it should be. I own a early (2016) Giulia, not the Q but the 2.2 diesel. It has plenty of torque (520nM) and just sticks to the road, love it. I am the first owner and for the curious, reliability is great. Just normal maintenance. Only real issue was a sensor that was faulty and made it go in limp mode for no reason. Dealer changed it, no further problems. Keep up the good work 👌
@@PointShiftDrive Bought it brand new at the dealer in dec. 2016. The moment I knew the Giulia was coming to the Netherlands I went to the dealer and ordered it. Because I was one of the first in the Netherlands the dealer threw in a tuning treatment which brought it to 520nM torque. It's still my daily driver, and still gives me a smile driving it and looking at her.
Test drove a GQ in 2020 and decided I won't get into another until I buy one, hopefully within the next 2 years. Have my manual Giulietta QV to entertain me till then.
2.9 liters (177 cubic inches) and one of the smoothest acceleration feeling effort you can have. Not bad for 35 psi in Boost. But what I really love each morning when I approach my little Jewel is the visual “Stance”. It looks Glued to the ground. It’s a KEEPER!
Prior to my Quad, I did have a new M3 and felt that was also an excellent car, although it just seemed big and bulky and thus was not overwhelming. My first BMW was a new 1970 2002. I liked so much that I bought a new 1975 530i, loved that also, thus I have always been a fan of that brand. I just think design wise that they have lost their way. Also, the exterior subtle beauty of the Alfa speaks for itself. Since I always shy away from cars that everyone else, this hits me it the right place.
Performance is relative. A S58 tuned destroys super cars. So just depends what you want. I can tell you my non competition M3 feels very fast. With AWD and over 500hp… it would be I sanity. But again, it’s relative. I judge cars performance in the corners. I care more about handling and corner speed than drag racing.
@@paulsdeep5598you have clearly never driven a Giulia. Their is no comparison, the Alfa destroys the BMW in fun factor and engagment. Much better steering and a more playful chassis. In fact their is a guy on CZcams who sold multiple giulias because of issues and one even shutting off on the highway almost killing him. He got a G80, he is now back in the Giulia because it’s so god dam good.
Awesome review! You nailed it and I fully agree with everything you said. Wife drives one and it is so much fun car. I totally agree with you in space, not only back seats but even when getting in and out from driver seat it is struggle and I am not that tall. I don’t care about the infotainment, to me it works, I don’t need a laptop I want to focus on the road and driving. There is nothing to change in this car other than the tires. I replaced w Continentals and doing great.
So far so good. Once a year oil change, this is my third year of ownership. The car is put together well, everything is tight and well fitting. Dealer experience is good except expensive compare to Germans. Only issue was front passenger tire was scrapping during tight turns but it is resolved w continentals. For most M3 will be better, space, tech, awd and manual options. But if you want something that looks so unique and different, you are rewarded.
i daily drive an alfa romeo giulia manual rear wheel drive (well not the quadrifoglio...) and it's mind blowing how feels so nimble, so precise in corners, so well planted and yet confortable and all of this despite regular dampers (active dampers are cool but crazy expensive to replace when exhausted). the driving position feels like a proper sport car too. maybe the only cons it's electronic controll always on even on D so running pedal to the metal out of a tight corner you feel the power cuts (despite the simulated lsd differential with brakes), but that's the only very minor complain.
Great review. I love my QV (in relatively invisible gray), as a daily driver. One tricky thing is the limited dealer network, which isn't a problem with BMWs. Where is that beautiful road you drove?
I been living my entire life in munich and I can tell you from all I heard , seen and felt about BMW. FUCK BMW. They want to milk you with repairs and in addition, they lost their soul long time ago. If I'd win a new BMW, I'd sell it. I rather and priderly drive a VW golf than a modern bmw.
Great review. I have a Giulia and I have to disagree with your objection on the backseats - I fit two carseats for my 2yo and 4yo no problem, and they insist we take it everywhere over the SUV! The car has seen many 300+ mi roadtrips without any issues whatsoever.
That’s awesome that you were able to make it work for you! I also wasn’t saying it’s impossible to have child seats in the back but it’s just cramped. My kids would end up just constantly kicking the carbon seats for fun. That would piss me off. 😂 Thanks for watching!
@@PointShiftDrive I can totally appreciate that statement! I don't have the carbon seats (big miss on my part), and yes the kids constantly kick the plastic on the back. Your reviews are great! Thanks again.
Alfa's history speaks for itself, its cars have never had any reliability problems, the only car to have problems was the Alfasud (never sold in the US) and it concerned the chassis paintwork, not the reliability of the engines or anything else. I always read this BS written by Americans (who in 99% of cases have never owned an Alfa Romeo), it would be time to talk about what one knows instead of doing it at random.
You can easily put a baby seat in the back so that was a nonsense point. Sure okay you prefer a manual. But otherwise this is a car full of passion and soul, not a boring dull poser BMW
Overall I liked the car. Which is why I gave my balanced review. Mostly good. But not everything. I’m also the guy that stuffed 2 kids into the back of my 911 with reverse facing kid seats. When you have lived with that, then talk to me about what you are willing to deal with. I never said it’s not possible. Just not that practical. Know what makes BMW so great? The community. Very welcoming, warm, and helpful. Your comment doesn’t make me feel the same about Alfa owners. Try and remember that a review isn’t a personal attack. It’s a review. I do it to help people who are potentially looking to buy one. You can help by showing them that current owners are open and welcoming as well. Calling someone a poser for their car decisions seems petty. If I had all the money in the world, I’d own a Giulia too. I appreciate your perspective and hope that my words give you something to consider as well. .
That’s a great look back in history. But. In todays market, it competes directly with the benchmark M3. And considering that it has performance specs very close to if not exactly like the G series M cars, yeah it’s clear that Alfa wants to compete with BMW. But BMW doesn’t worry about Alfa taking any of their customers. That’s why I called it the way I did. And btw, I loved the Giulia. If it were a manual… I probably would have bought one.
@@PointShiftDrive it's the Giulia's steering wheel. I like that its light and sensitive. Compared to other performance cars I've driven - Heavy. You know what I mean, right? Other performance cars, you put them on sport or track mode, suddenly the steering wheel is stiff and more resistant. The Giulia is still light and nimble on Race mode, and I find the steering ratio absolutely perfect. My exposure to performance cars is limited - Camaro, Corvette, 911, 458. If you know of any other performance cars with steering like the Giulia, please let me know.
0:13 In fact, Alfa Romeo was the first to make a vehicle format that also uses the M3, decades before BMW, but the USA did not find out because of the isolationist policy of importing vehicles...
@@PointShiftDrive While BMW sold the Isetta, Alfa Romeo won the first two F1 championships in history, from '62 to '77 the sportiest sedan with various variants that was most successful in Europe and then also in the USA was the Alfa Romeo Giulia TI and with its GT derivatives and GTA, these were made famous by the competitions in which they often excelled. The BMW 3 series was born in 1975, until the 1980s they were known not only for their beauty but also for their poor roadholding unlike Alfa Romeo and Lancia, but from here began the management crisis of Alfa Romeo and the rise of the BMW models which replaced the Alfa in the imagination of sports sedans, then a brief blaze in the 90s of Alfa which went to Germany to beat all the German brands in the DTM (German GT touring championship). Since 2016 the rebirth in sports sedans
@@nessuno5403 The Giulia and its sportier and more luxury variants have existed since '62, the 3 series since '75. Unfortunately, the oil crisis of the '70s together with terrible management skills decreed a gradual decline of the brand which only recovered in the '90s, but the crisis of Fiat (owner of Alfa) at the end of the '90s and beginning of 2000, reduced the Alfa's ambitions to return to the sporting glories of the past
If the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing didn't exist, I'd own the ARGQ. But alas, RWD, V8 with a manual is too good to pass up. But man, I love the Quadrifoglio.
You don't buy an Alfa Romeo just because of a huge infotainment system, the quality of the backview camera or the backseat room...🤣 I bought a my22 Giulia in december last year. Not the Quadrifoglio, but a Veloce Q4 (280 hp/8 speed automatic/AWD) and it's by far the best car i've ever had. So agile, responsible and emotional! Pure joy! Nothing against german cars. I'm german but these Beamer's Audi's and Mercedes are a f**** PLAGUE over here! Even the M's, RS's and AMG's! Absolutely NOTHING special. Nobody looks at these cars here because you see them dozens of times in almost every parking lot or at every red traffic light. It's different with the Alfa Giulia. People look interested, ask questions or give compliments. This car is simply a pleasure in every respect! Forza Alfa! 🍀🏁
It’s an interesting point. Where the German cars are plentiful they are the boring norm. I buy that. However here in the states it just depends. We have a huge country and people have so many different preferences. As for the quality of the Alfa interior, it’s not bad. But it’s not great for a car that costs $90k. If this was a $45k car, I’d say sure. But at double that price point, it’s a bit lackluster. But if you are a fan, you are a fan.
@@PointShiftDrive It's an Italian car and Italian cars excel in beauty, dynamics and emotions! The focus here is on the quality of driving, not that of the interior. To me, this car is worth every penny and in Misano blue and red Brembo calipers, it stands out everywhere. A true queen in the wasteland of German boredom and that's how you're perceived.
This is actually my car in the video. The stitching was standard with the carbon fiber buckets. The only options I selected were the seats, the exposed carbon roof, and the red calipers.
As e92junkie said, when you option the Sparco seats you get white and green stitching on the seats still plus Alcantara :) Doors and dashboard stitching is grey, as is the for the standard full leather interior from the Veloce.
@@nessuno5403 I have read conflicting reports on the car's dry weight. Some publications say 3,800, others say 3,400. My guess is that it's somewhere in between with the subtraction of the heavier, power seats.
@@PointShiftDrive I’m sorry, its a nice car, but its a dumb, there is a reason why the people who can afford it opt for the Germans, its obvious even to a layman why they are not selling!!
@@duffydon1741 well... its worth noting that its harder to find a Alfa dealership to service your car than it is to find a BMW, Audi, or Merc. But its all subjective. People buy what fits in their lives the most... typically.
I much prefer the Alfa interior - I want a drivers car, I don't want lots of screens. I would rate the Alfa much higher than the BMW - the Alfa is a purists car. I hope to buy one in 2025.
Have 2017 model just crossed 40K miles. It is my daily driver April to November weather allowing. I don't drive it in snow or below 50 degrees with tires I use as they lose a lot of grip below that. The PSD is a really fair review particularly because it recognizes that the design is about driving it not about IT tech. That is a value choice which of course is idiosyncratic to both the manufacturer and the buyer. Personally I find the overly screen focused interiors of current BMW's enough of a turnoff that I wouldn't consider buying one. The way the screen is accentuated in a design way visually separating it from the planes of the dash immediately raises the question, for me, are you here to drive or watch TV? I love the way the screen in the Alfa can be turned off and you won't know it exists until you need it for something For everything I need it for it's simple and easy. I don't really understand the beef on the back up camera either it is more than adequate. If that is a deciding factor in your purchase decision than you and I are buying the vehicle for different reasons. I've never done a burn out in my Alfa and never will but I've got more than 1000 miles of track time on it and it has helped me become a much better track driver. It's steering is unparalleled by any car I've driven on a track (Ferraris, Lambos, Audi R8's and more), the carbon ceramic brakes haven't begun to show wear and they inspire great confidence. The instructor who was in the right seat with me at Watkins Glen a couple of weeks ago was kind of shocked by how capable the car was as he hadn't been in one before. I let him take it out for a few laps and watched his reactions as best I could through our helmets. He was was clearly surprised by the car's capabilities he drove it hard and fast but probably only to 85% since it wasn't his car. At the end of the session he had a really weird look, that I read as disbelief, on his face and was clearly thinking pretty hard. I asked him what he thought. He said something to the effect "I won't admit it to anyone else but this might be the best stock car I've driven on a track. but I don't want to admit it." I asked him what he meant. " I got to spend some serious time in a new Cayman 4 RS two weeks ago and that was my favorite car ever. But this may be better." Having recently spent time tracking an older Cayman on a track in Germany I can say it is a wonderful car especially if you have to do tracking in an unfamiliar vehicle. It is incredibly neutral, balanced, and predictable, it quickly inspires confidence. It doesn't have the emotional connection of the Quadrifoglio. Alfa's feel different and they get better the longer you know them. I also have another Alfa a 1971 2000GTV-it feels even better to drive than the new one because of the absence of Tech particularly ABS and traction control. That feel is no mistake it is a design signature. That the reviewer understood and expressed that at some level in his initial observations is remarkable and rare and I thank him for seeing it. The only thing I could disagree with is his observation that the Michelin Pilots would make for better performance. I'm on my 6th set of tires 2 of the Pirellis, 3 of the Michelins, and currently Contis. On a performance level the Pirellis are still the best but the Contis are really good and in the rain are way better than the Pirellis. I liked my first two sets of Michelins but then were clearly less capable than the PIrelli's but they lasted 25% longer so they were a good trade off. The last set of Michelins was awful. Never got them on the track and they were bald in the back at 6300 miles.
You are welcome. I didn't mention it in what I said but I also really liked how you said you'd have to choose the BMW over it because of the back seat being bigger. That is a really good reason for you, in your situation, for making that choice. So often reviewers don't realize that the choices they make are less about the car and more about their needs. That is exactly the right reason to make your choice but it isn't necessarily a reason to dis the car being reviewed. Your ability to be clear and reasonably neutral will bring me back to your reviews. Thanks!@@PointShiftDrive

I forgot, your (true) description of the interior is a demonstration of everything is wrong with the car market today, although only the infotainment is really inferior (to the Bmw and not only), not the rest who is perfect for the car. People buy a sport-sedan but they are not interested in the 50/50 weight distribution, the lightness, the Carbon crankshaft, the fact that everything in the car is focused on driving pleasure ... no, what's important to them is infotainment and the quality of the camera. 🤔 I'm not against you, I'm just a sad (old) man.
😂 I’d say, buy what you love. But I can tell you that most people buy sports cars and never take them to the track. So why do they buy sports cars? You get it.
Im glad you dont need any of the technology the german cars have. Stick with the cave paintings, you will be fine. Barny rubble.
I have a 2017 Giulia Quad...custom ordered with 37,000 amazing miles and counting. Best sport sedan EVER !!
I have a green 2023 Giulia Quadrifoglio! Exact same as the one you reviewed. My daily. Love every second of it!

I think that’s more or less what I concluded by the end of the review. I think it’s a great offering to the segment but it needs a manual option

One of the best cars EVER made. period.
I’m finding there are a lot of Alfa fans out there. After driving this one… I am one too.
Absolutely brilliant review. You either get the car or you don't.
I see Alfa Giulia content I click like!!
Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for the praise! And yes filming in Marin 👍

I love that idea!

I have a set of Pilot Sport 4S in the garage waiting until this November for install. Need to get some more use out of the P-Zeros. I knew there was a wait and ordered them in advance. Took about 6 months as the rears were on back order.
Agree night & day difference
Although I only had a Q4, this was the most beautiful car I've ever owned. That green fits the QV so well.

FORZA ALFA BABY !!!
THE KING IS BACK !!!
And how it applies to todays market choices.
your cinematography is amazing! how do you not have 500k+ subs??
Hard to argue against that.
Analogue dials are also digital at the back. They are vintage now, which some or many still prefer.
The seats in the BMW are horrible. There is a bump in the center and it becomes very uncomfortable.
I’m not having any issues with the seats. They fit me perfect. Even on a long road trip to LA. They were 👌
That "bump" is there only if you option the silly BMW G series carbon seats.
Such a special car
I won't touch any BMW Audi or M-Benz. Alfa Romeo all the way. It's the best Sports Sedan on earth. End of story.
That green is mesmerizing no other car can get away with such color except a Lamborghini also italian
I agree. It’s beautiful in person
Keep up the good work 👌
Just curious… how long have you owned your Alfa?
@@PointShiftDrive Bought it brand new at the dealer in dec. 2016. The moment I knew the Giulia was coming to the Netherlands I went to the dealer and ordered it. Because I was one of the first in the Netherlands the dealer threw in a tuning treatment which brought it to 520nM torque. It's still my daily driver, and still gives me a smile driving it and looking at her.
That was some of the best exterior footage for this car i have ever seen

Test drove a GQ in 2020 and decided I won't get into another until I buy one, hopefully within the next 2 years. Have my manual Giulietta QV to entertain me till then.
Don’t wait too long. The QF’s life cycle is coming to an end soon. But the used market will always we be there
2.9 liters (177 cubic inches) and one of the smoothest acceleration feeling effort you can have. Not bad for 35 psi in Boost. But what I really love each morning when I approach my little Jewel is the visual “Stance”. It looks Glued to the ground. It’s a KEEPER!
It’s such an impressive car out of the box!
I´m a bif fan bmw, I confess, but this Alfa is fuc@@@@ insane!!!! I love it!
I would definitely get the Quadrifoglio over the M3 based on the performance reviews. I have an IS500 and completely satisfied with it.
You have clearly never driven an m3 competition xdrive 😂

So far so good. Once a year oil change, this is my third year of ownership. The car is put together well, everything is tight and well fitting. Dealer experience is good except expensive compare to Germans. Only issue was front passenger tire was scrapping during tight turns but it is resolved w continentals. I had similar feelings about it until I got to live with it for a while. That really made me feel comfortable with it. And it is beautiful
Get over the reliability how many times
Alfa's history speaks for itself, its cars have never had any reliability problems, the only car to have problems was the Alfasud (never sold in the US) and it concerned the chassis paintwork, not the reliability of the engines or anything else.
I always read this BS written by Americans (who in 99% of cases have never owned an Alfa Romeo), it would be time to talk about what one knows instead of doing it at random.

Alfa Romeo invented the sports sedan and you call the Giulia "Italian M3"? When Alfa made the 1900 SS, BMW produces the Isetta ...
1967 Giulia Super. DOHC, 4-wheel discs, 5 speed.
I prefer driving my quad over my c8 vette. there's something about this car that makes driving exciting and alive.
Do you think the wheel base of the Alfa has something o do with it?
@@PointShiftDrive it's the Giulia's steering wheel. I like that its light and sensitive. Compared to other performance cars I've driven - Heavy.
You know what I mean, right? Other performance cars, you put them on sport or track mode, suddenly the steering wheel is stiff and more resistant. The Giulia is still light and nimble on Race mode, and I find the steering ratio absolutely perfect.
My exposure to performance cars is limited - Camaro, Corvette, 911, 458. If you know of any other performance cars with steering like the Giulia, please let me know.
I've had a lot of nice performance cars as my daily driver, but my Giulia QF is the one I miss the most. Too bad they're being discontinued.

0:13 In fact, Alfa Romeo was the first to make a vehicle format that also uses the M3, decades before BMW, but the USA did not find out because of the isolationist policy of importing vehicles...
Not sure what you mean… can you elaborate? 🤔
Nenad, what? Alfa Romeo went to chase and beat the M3. But the M3 has existed for generations.

I bought a my22 Giulia in december last year.
Thank you for the commentary. I think this is spot on!
@@user-cf4sv3mi7k much appreciated
If you need assurance the QV isn’t a year-round car, try driving it in Vermont between October 1st and May 1st.
I like bmw all generation just e90 e92 not much, but this alfa quadrifoglio for me most beautiful sedan all car interior exteriror, rims, type of colors
The wheels are a bit dated to me. Wish they would update the look. Otherwise yes.
Great review. Wish they would add AWD for us folks in bad weather
heavier, would lose it's balance
Thx for the video.
I am in the process to change my rs3 ...
Alfa quad or m3 Competition lci or audi rs5 compétition
Daily hurry dad... one last time before governement forces me/us to buy electric...
I think you will like it
@@PointShiftDrive kept thé RS3 , detailing it like new and full black. Bought cx5 2024 to protect the RS3 from eating too many KMs.
Will change the RS3 in a few years.
Not for a Giulia QV then... But a Real 2 seats sport liké ... Lotus Emira V6 👌💪 patience
Soooo beautiful the best Alfa Romeo 😍😍😍
Buy one before they stop making them
@@PointShiftDrive I have one but is the guillia ti sport ,and is beautiful but the quadrifoglio is damn ❤️❤️
The green look the best on camera bc when i saw one in person it is much more teal than green anything.
I didn’t see teal at all actually. But it is a metallic green so maybe it was the light bending?🤷♂️
This green does not have any teal hue.
As an M owner. The ONLY reason I got an M is to mod it. I love the alfa
The Alfa is the more interesting car for sure... but to your point, the aftermarket is soooo strong with BMW.
Yes it is
I forgot, your (true) description of the interior is a demonstration of everything is wrong with the car market today, although only the infotainment is really inferior (to the Bmw and not only), not the rest who is perfect for the car.
People buy a sport-sedan but they are not interested in the 50/50 weight distribution, the lightness, the Carbon crankshaft, the fact that everything in the car is focused on driving pleasure ... no, what's important to them is infotainment and the quality of the camera. 🤔
I'm not against you, I'm just a sad (old) man.
😂
I’d say, buy what you love. But I can tell you that most people buy sports cars and never take them to the track. So why do they buy sports cars?
Point is… people want something that they can aspire to. They also want something that meets their price point expectations. That’s why Lotus has problems selling cars. They are waaay to spartan inside to live with. Speaking as an old man myself, I really appreciate the seats in the QF. Much more livable than the carbon buckets in my M3.
Thanks for watching
Make sure you have dealer support near you and be prepared for borderline ferrari service prices. Still the best driving car on the planet tho.
Yes It Is🍀
This car looks much better than the M3.
It’s more interesting for sure.
Alfa over a BMW anyday especially this Alfa Bellissmo
Sadly, the manual got discontinued a few years ago (2017 I think) everywhere, including Europe. It's now auto-only.
Wow! That is sad... but also means those few manuals that do exist are also going to be worth more in the future
Alfa have just releast a limited edizione with the manuale gearbox,200 examples 50 for the ltalian market the rest wordwide.
@@itawolf2494 I’d love to snag one of those!
its the best sports sedan period
Could a gen 2 be better?
@@PointShiftDrive yes, If the evolution is done right it will be the Mona Lisa
