    This is the Stinger missile. In this Content we will try to explain the parts of the missile with the technology behind it and the awesomeness of the Proportional Navigation formula based on how the Guidance Seeker utilizes it to track and Destroy its target . All of that in just under 5 minutes and 4 K quality Animation. So let's get Straight to the Target , I meant Content.
    The F I M 92 Stinger is an infrared homing surface-to-air missile (SAM) that may be carried by a single person.
    It may be configured to fire from a wide range of ground vehicles as well as helicopters Air to Air Stinger. It was developed in the United States and has been utilized by the militaries of the U S army and 29 other nations since the Nineteen Eighties . It is primarily built by Raytheon Missile Systems, with 70,000 missiles produced under license by Airbus Defense in Germany and ROKETSAN in Turkey.

    2)MM = millimeter (New Voice Over artist for coming contents)
    3)Shane D’Angelo-You messed up on the sight assembly and the bcu is way too big. Other than that it’s pretty close to the actual look of the missile.

    P.S Military Technology Data are a little tough to get our hands on and also classified and most of them are in a very grey area, but we will try our best as average Engineers and 3d Animators to bring out the best in a very Minimalistic or Simple Explanation.

      The description is too primitive, they did not describe how the management works. There is only one pair of handlebars deflected, and there are only two positions, left and right. And the other pair of planes are destabilizers, they are not mobile and are needed for better maneuverability. The rocket rotates at a speed of 20 revolutions/seconds, and these rudders switch in a certain way, make the rocket turn in the right direction. So if you are doing an animation of a rocket flight, you need to implement rotation around the axis. I do not know if there is detailed information on the Stinger MANPADS in the public domain, but there is information on the Igla, Strela-2, Strela-2M MANPADS, of course, in Russian. True, it is possible that sources could have been blocked in recent times, but maybe you can find a lot of people who downloaded during this time. Yes, the Stinger and Igla MANPADS are noticeably different, but they have a lot in common, and there, and there, a single-channel type of control is used.

      Why does it have a bookshelf mounted on the side & why do you need a fresh can of stinger juice every 45 seconds.
      The video failed to explain those points.
      I thought this was a self sufficient platform. I also thought that the gun sight was gonna be akin to a fighter jet's head's up display. Displaying range to target, lock on status, and time on target after launch.

    • @ElijahsThrone
      @ElijahsThrone Před 2 měsíci

      @@dr.pastrami5272 that book shelf is an Antenna which communicates with aircraft determining whether its friendly or foe. The can is a battery and the longer it’s in the battery well it can implode then become stuck in the battery well and cause significant damage. I don’t think I can discuss when this will happen but 45 seconds is a great point to aim for. There is no heads up display rather its different statuses are communicated in a series of tones and beeps. There is also a bone transducer that acts as a secondary status device. As far as range is concerned we are trained to make near accurate perceptions in distance to aid us in acquisition.

      The BCU (Battery Coolant Unit) contains both pressurized argon and a thermal battery. The argon cools down when allowed to expand. The cold argon cools the missile's thermal sensor. The BCU also has a one time use "thermal battery." This battery gets really hot. Videos showing the Stinger being used show operators quickly removing the hot BCU. I believe the BCU has to be removed quickly to avoid damaging the launcher from heat. We don't use thermal batteries in everyday life so it seems really odd (at least to me) that they work this way.
      I was hoping this video would go into more detail about the thermal battery. I'm having trouble finding good information about it.

    I wonder if the short battery life and shelf life of the BCU was completely by design. After all, if the US sells the stinger to so many different countries is perfectly reasonable to assume that adversaries would also get a hold of it through the black market.
    But with such a short shelflife it wouldn’t make much sense for them to buy it, thus limiting how many of the US’s enemies will use it against them. I know at least one anti-aircraft missile made by the US can identify US made aircraft by the outline and thus will not track it. I’m just not sure if it’s the stinger or not.

      Stingers are in service with the LDPR militia. Moreover, not all copies were captured, some were bought. And a lot of Western weapons are sold to just anyone. As they say, to whom the war, and to whom the war is just a good business, nothing personal. And yes, it's easy to disable the friend-foe recognition system.

    “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.”

    • @williamzk9083
      @williamzk9083 Před rokem

      The US spends 3.5% of GDP on defense. A lot of it goes back into the economy but it is a lot. European NATO is supposed to get to 2% but most were down to 1.2% to 1.4%. Germany got down to 1.2% and was back up at 1.4% and on track to get to 2% by 2025 before the Ukraine war broke out. The Germans had been funding EU integration and their own East Germany. Germany was only an average and by now means to lowest. Back in the days of the cold war defense expenditure in Germany was 6% of GDP and the US about the same.
      I would argue that had Europe been operating at 2% of GDP the war in Ukraine would be over and Russia would not have dared to invade. There would be large piles of equipment to give away.
