Dassault Aviation’s chief test pilot, Philippe Duchateau, told AIN what it takes to prepare aircraft like the new Falcon 6X to appear in events like the Paris Air Show. It’s all about demonstrating safety features while simultaneously thrilling the crowds. Philippe’s experience as a fighter pilot has equipped him well for the task, but he takes nothing for granted when planning for flying displays and test flights.

Some years back the crew of a European registered Falcon 900 thought it a good idea to continue to operate with a fault in the elevator feel system. When this occurs the system defaults to the low speed mode. This is a no go item and if it occurs in the air the speed of the aircraft must be limited to 280kts if I recall correctly.
These guys were barreling down hill at 320 kts or there about and for some reason the autopilot disconnected, they were left hand flying at high speed with a super sensitive elevator. They made several high positive G and negative G bunts and killed a bunch of unrestrained people in that back.

I know it’s not the same manufacturer, and it’s the latest design, but this beauty so reminds me of a ‘mini Caravelle’ Only the French could design and build such a beautiful aircraft.
