The amount of time she just casually walked on the water yet somehow she didn't realize that she could actually walk on the water to reach the torch. They do say Twitch streamers have only 2 brain cells most of the time but this is amazing when I see it 😂

I saw a clip of this earlier and thought it was a super BS puzzle but apparently, there are sections of the game prior to this where the water-walking mechanic is used.

@@konaqua122 According to other comments under this very video/clip, there were previous levels where she LEARNED the water-walking mechanic, or where there was a level designed specifically AROUND THIS MECHANIC.
This isn't a question of whether you're curious enough or willing to try anything or everything (risking a death animation). This is a question of whether you can harness prior knowledge...

I think the fact that there's lava right next to it should have made it pretty clear that you can walk on the water, because why would a dev ever want to add two different tiles that do the exact same thing (stop the player from stepping on them)?

1. Stop people from focusing so much on the torches
2. Teach people that you can place torches in lava.
From what I can tell even koko just got distracted from the torches when they serve no real purpose here as they also don't stop the player pushing them right. It might be teaching people you can push two at once but I think that was shown in at least two earlier puzzles..

@@_J3T so when someone decides on an action as a solution to something they tend to tunnel vision on that action and either don't notice or deny other possibilities. she decided that she cant just cross the water and the fire things were the solution so she tunneled onto that and didn't notice anything else that could be the solution instead.

Even a box is smarter than this
To be fair, there is no game indication whatsoever as to the fact that the water always flows down.
No animation, no texture, no tutorial, and not even a hint that says such a thing. Water in games almost always either instantly kills you or is an impassable barrier.
It also doesn't really work the way water intuitively would work. So other than trial and error, nobody should be expected to figure that out. The fact she didn't even notice it happening at all is a bit dumb though.
Thats why you can test stuff. Standard procedure. This is a puzzle game, with infinite retries, it don’t need that much of a “tutorial”

@@censuur12 Good puzzle games do not do that. All you're creating is randomness to whether or not a person has long enough attention span to solve it, making it too easy for many and too hard to specific type of people that have a tendency to tunnel vision.
@@censuur12 Basically same as adding minefield signs surrounding the objective and presenting an extra challenging alternative path to get there to avoid the minefield... except there are no mines and you could have just walked right through it. That is not a puzzle, that is a scam to waste time.
@@spugelo359 An issue most puzzle games have is that if you provide *only* the required elements to solve a puzzle then it becomes utterly trivial to solve every puzzle. Red herrings are common and serve a real purpose in making the user think *about* the puzzle rather than just shuffle the pieces around until something works. You know, *solving* the puzzle instead of brute force. You can see this difference quite well in portal 1 vs portal 2 for example, where most people find portal 2 much easier because in most puzzles all you need to do is find the portal surface and you've already figured it out.
