You gotta love the complete look of shock on his face when the first smaller rocket kind of worked. A reaction that is all too familiar to anyone who has ever tried to build something stupid and accidentally made something that works.
You could invent some sort of tiny device that has a microphone and a speaker in it, fits into your ear and stays there, and then wirelessly sends and receives the audio back and forth between your phone and the device so you can keep your phone in your pocket while talking through and listening to the device in your ear, and maybe also implement some sort of button on it that can control your phone, like for example to answer and end calls. Better yet, make two of them, one for each ear, then you have surround sound.

If you don't wanna use your phone unlatch it and put it in your pocket yes it would be extremely cumbersome with almost no way to fix it hahaha but ATLEST you would never drop your phone just trebuchet it into stuff
This rocket idea is legit the worst way the deal with it as the chances of preforming a suicide landing with a phone and a firework are not likely a phone being not areo dynamic and likely to cause the whole thing to aim down wards doing more damage
Retractable strings are cool and all but mechical stuff is likely to fail the easy clip idea is the more safest way to ensure longevity and success of application at the cost of quality life features like having to worry about your phone being lactched to your wrist

I own this phone, Ive dropped it on solid concrete face first and it didnt brake. From about 6 feet up im 6'8 and was standing and it dropped from my ear so maybe 6'6 or so feet? Idk but it it was high, and not only did I do this once. I've done this like 12 times I'de guess, Face first into solid concrete. Nothing happened. Surs quality product if you are looking for a android phone.

You can easily program a script to deploy springs while it’s in free fall, and to check if the case is being compressed by a pocket, although a 4 rocket array would be cooler
Honestly if you can find a way to compress the spring phone concept in to a thick case, it could actually be a pretty great concept. But it’d probably only be useful for the mega phones, and for normal to small phones, might as well stick to rubber

It might be to late for new ideas and idk if ull make a second vid ab this (or if u already did), but I had an idea of making a phone case with a screen cover that is basically really thicc and has a form of a shock absorbing system. Basically get a really big case, fill it with springs or memory foam or smth idk, and put the phone in there, secure it in there, call it a day.

How about if your phone had a heat sensor or some way to detect when it's in your hand, and if it comes out of your hand, the sensor activates a collapsible shield that closes when it's not in your hand, kind of like the M&M's melt in your mouth and not your hand effect. The phone is already programmed to detect your fingers touching the screen. Maybe you could make use of some of those features?

I definitely noticed. Even the little bit where he cuts the wood and the piece hanging off is floating. Small stuff like that adds up and makes the video a lot more difficult and time consuming to produce.

Or, maybe a secondary attachment that acts as the yo-yo...I’m picturing a spherical, nested-container that can...sort-of gyroscope a bit, so it points up no matter what angle the phone drops. The yo-yo part, (inside the sphere) is a device that will automatically retract the string when triggered (either at the end of the fully extended string, or when the weight of the phone causes a tug mid-fall). If it’s attached to the belt, and the string is the right length, even just the string will stop the phone from drop-impact...the cool part is the automatic return-to-body without bouncing into genitals.
You just need the spring phone to have more weight in the bottom, almost guaranteeing it to land in that orientation.
