Michael Jordan - Space Jam Point Guard Matchup Against Muggsy Bogues

An often overlooked match-up, from Michael Jordan's Triple Double streak, was the interesting match-up that MJ had against world famous fan favorite Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues. Jordan came in to this contest with 5 straight triple doubles in a row, but he matched up with 5'3" Muggsy Bogues in this contest. How in the world would Muggsy defend Michael before they clearly would need to make a change defensively? Would Muggsy be too fast for Jordan? Any time Muggsy Bogues or Spud Webb were involved, during this era, fans would become a little more intrigued to see how the "little man" faired against Jordan, or how they faired in other various situations and match-ups.
Also in this contest Michael Jordan faced familiar foe Kelly Tripucka, Steph Curry's father Dell Curry, sharp shooter Robert Reid, 4 time world champion Kurt Rambis, and Rex Chapman.
Muggsy would later appear in Michael Jordan's famous movie "Space Jam". Space Jam was a global phenomenon. Also of basketball legend were the Space Jam scrimmages that took place.
Muggsy Bogues was unable to participate in the scrimmages due to undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Barkley and Ewing played with Jordan, who invited a bunch of NBA legends and players. The attendees included Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Grant Hill, Dennis Rodman, Reggie Miller, Chris Webber and Juwan Howard.
"Oh, it was tough watching," Bogues said. "But it was enjoyable, too, because it was entertaining. The guys were going at it. They just had a lot of fun with it. It was in the summertime. - MJ trying to make his way back into shape after coming back from his baseball experience. So, it was fun."
Muggsy didn't have that problem, back here in 1989 when he faced Jordan, right smack dab in the middle of Michael Jordan's historic run at point guard!

The athletes of today are so much better, they say. The advancement in sports medicine, and that part is true. But load management being the excuse for why these top, world-class athletes , that are supposedly better than others, can’t play 80 games or more is pathetic. They have the advancement medicine and training, and they make way more money today, way more. But last season only 5 players played all 82 games……. Wow…. Compare that to just ten years ago 69 players played all 82 games….
