@joshCahill Need update on you ban, We are trying to keep the momentum up on QR social media 🙂
Are you using Threads?
Hopefully Qatar Unban you soon Josh.
Congratulations! As a former flight attendant with Lufthansa my highest airport and layover was Addis Abeba in Ethiopia.
According to my GPS-device my hotel room there was at an altitude of 2300 metres, and I always had problems to sleep at that hight.
I don't want to imagine how 4000 metres feel!
Well in india , Leh city is highest airport is at 3524 m and highest pass near that city " khardung la" at 5369m . Pangong tso day trip from Leh is at 4225 m
I can tell you how it feels there. At Leh
Walking will tire you easily however fit you are.
At pangong, you will have very shallow breathing and easily get nose bleeds and at khardung la, you will headache as soon as you reach there . Some may get altitude sickness (thank God I did not get those) and authorities will ask you to move down after 15 min stay.
But yet thousands visit that region every year. Because it's very beautiful.
Do visit there , you will fell in love with views. Of trans Himalayas
2300 meters is still fine for sleeping. stuff kind of gets weird after about 3000 meters. at least for healthy people living at sea level. If you have problem's at less than that, go to a doctor. that is not an normal reaction. i
p.s.
i go thru this every winter, at never ever had i had a problem with that ...
@@nishu413
than can you please explain to me all those Indians on the glaciers in the alps. they look so misplaced there and i never understood it.
When I lived in Bogotá, I had to sleep with the window cracked open for fresh air, due to the altitude.
@@amduser86 well easy to explain. Many factors for indians in Swiss Alps
1. Shah Rukh khan and DDLJ
2. Foreign tour of life time
3. Ladakh is still expensive to go. Flights will be super expensive. Limited hotels to stay. Flights to Someplaces in india are expensive to go than foreign countries like Thailand Nepal or uae.
I'm shocked that upon landing and entering the terminal, that someone from Qatar Airways was not present to tell Josh AGAIN that he's banned for refusing to being bullied.
What terminal? I do believe Qatar flies to Chengdu Tianfu, which is the airport Josh flew out of for this video, but it's not a major carrier there.
My bucket list talking about airports:
1) Shortest flight in Westray, for sure
2) St.barts airport as one of most complicated (bonus - Princess Juliana St.Maarten famous airport)
3) Ushuaia airport - at the very end of Americas. Nice place anyway
4) Saba/ Bonair - Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport - as one of the craziest
5) Bhutan, that airport you showed recently!
no Lukla on the list?
@@MW-zm8sd forgot about that :)) - definitely yes 😀😀
My first one would be Kai Tak, which is not possible anymore...
@@hongjuanwu7539 so not possible things we remove from the list :))
Nice list, I will add Skardu airport
The highest-altitude airport I flew into was La Paz, Bolivia. I started feeling the altitude within minutes. I spent five days there and it always felt like I was walking uphill.
I can appreciate how you were feeling at that altitude Josh. In 2001, along with ten other guys we flew from Kathmandu to Lhasa the capital of Tibet. Lhasa airport is 3500 meters above sea level, so a bit lower than Daocheng. However, the reason for being in Lhasa, and this is going to sound a bit crazy, the eleven of us were returning to Kathmandu, but by BIKE including a stop over at the north base camp of Mount Everest. On several occasions we were as high as 5,200 meters. When you were climbing those steps near the airport terminal, your heavy breathing brought all the memories of that Tibet journey flooding back. Great video Josh, looking forward to your next one. Have a great Christmas, wherever you will be spending it.
I’m so impressed, Josh! You’re killing it this year! Talk about ending this year with some epic videos! I CANNOT wait to go on this adventure with you! I’m so glued and thanks for taking us along. Love your work! ❤
Marry Christmas Josh
Your one of the best aviation CZcamsr I’ve ever subscribed to
I always get very excited every week as I know you will publish a new video as your adventures are getting more and more exciting by the week
Can’t wait for you to go to the Antarctica.
damn I love marrying Christmas
@@austinli8891same 😢
Merry not marry .
All of it is my bucket list! You're on a roll and 2023 has been your best year for content! Truly unique and fun!
What a great video. Actually, I like the idea of you doing more 'challenge' type videos such as Highest to Lowest and whatever other concepts you can think of. Maybe you could do a "pointless journeys" style video e.g. London Gatwick to London Heathrow via as many different airports as are feasible in a single 24 hour period. Stuff like that. Keep the great content coming, Josh - and thank you for entertaining and informing us in 2023!
Or flying to every London airport as quickly as possible
@@jackp1631 what about this climate change rubbish that so many people are pushing , please tell me you agree its shit
Josh, I hope you enjoyed the hospitality of people and the great food from my hometown. As a Sichuanese living abroad and your long-time fan, I travel quite a lot (150k miles/year) these days, and I hope I bump into you one day somewhere in the beautiful sky. ❤
Wow, now fly to the lowest airport in the world lol.
PS: That taxi lady was so nice for setting up your ride back
That's gonna be controversial if you know what i mean
He said he will!
Lowest airport is Bar Yehuda on the Dead Sea but it has no regular commercial airlines
The biggest airport would be Amsterdam Schiphol I think
its Bar Yehuda airfield. -378 ft below sea level. ICAO LLMZ IATA MTZ. cu there haha
Thank you for this review, as always I’m looking forward to watch.
Happy Holidays Josh, thanks for all the videos of 2023.
Wow Josh, that took a toll. You looked so tired at the end.... But a fascinating vid! What a beautiful place.
Well done Josh. I remember as a professional cameraman flying over the volcano near Mexico City I was so overcome by the altitude, (hanging out of the chopper with the door off at 4,000 metres,) that I was turning the camera on when putting it down, and turning it off when apparently filming…the rushes weren’t so good! Good luck with your record attempt!
Good review as always keep it up !
Wow, you are blessed with a heartbeat of only 50 bpm in rest 👌
Merry Christmas, Josh! Fly high! Definitely aiming for Emirates business class in 2024 - NZ - LHR 💜
Great video - I've been to El Alto La Paz - which I think is the highest international airport, at around 4000m. I'd love to do this one one day. I've also been to Baku - which is pretty damn low .... keep traill-blazing for us Josh.
Me too, I have been to La Paz, highest international airport in the world. While the one in China is a domestic airport but higher than La Paz😬
Great video! Can relate to the altitude sickness, we experienced recently in El Tatio (Atacama) but also in La Paz… still a great experience ;)
Amazing terminal, amazing accomplishment. keep on making these videos and Happy New Year, Josh
Hi Josh I'm from Australia love your channel, Every video put how many days Qatar airways have banned you make a statement. Thank you for this great video I've never heard of this place in China and I get tired just walking up a couple of steps. I love curried prawns and rice if that counts as Chinese food as that's the only thing I order at my local Chinese restaurant and my aviation wish is just once travel first class.
The closes thing I got was travelling from Australia to USA was a whole row to my self for 13hrs and made a poor man's business class bed I slept for 7hrs straight that's even the longest I've slept that includes my own bed. Thank you Josh Merry Christmas. 🇦🇺❤🎄🎄
Curry is an Indian dish
With all the amazing food in china the best you can think of is curry😂. It’s like talking about French cuisine you can only have French fries came to mind 😂
@@hxi7141 personally I love beef in black bean sauce with noodles as that's the only thing I order at my local French restaurant.
@@suave-riderBeef with Black Bean Sauce 😋 Uncle you know it! 🫡
@@hxi7141 as I said I have never been to China and at my local Chinese restaurant that's what I order.
Merry Christmas Josh 🎅 and thanks for entertaining us this past year with your aviation reviews ! ✌🏽
Love the splashes of red! You are one gutsy dude! Beautiful view.
Awesome video
Merry Christmas
I just joined your Patreon page
How exciting!! You certainly go to extremes for us, and I live vicariously through you 😃 Have a wonderful holiday!
You are a true legend Josh. I m 42, expat in Phuket (doing my Ma over here) and thanks to your video I have defeated my fear of flying. Years ago I had to take double Xaxan dose just to get to the airport, after watching your videos for a long time, I've conquered my fears and now I enjoy the whole process, including getting more "expertise" on aircrafts and such. Thank you SIR:)
Fantastic Video Bud 👍👍
Taking a flight on an 146/Avro RJ or Fokker 100 again would be my bucket thing. Never thought they'll both disappear in the northern hemisphere almost overnight.
Wow, could hear out of breath you were. Great video. Happy Christmas
Wow, great video!
Great video mate and keep up the good work and merry Christmas 🎄
What a beautiful and scenic flight.
Awesome video Josh. Wow.
My aviation bucket list is to fly for 30 days consecutively on Southwest Airlines. Trying to hit all airports they serve.
Sorry you have to fly those shit US airlines
Hi Josh,
what a trip uploaded right before Christmas :) Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to your next one. One suggestion from my side: I am not a frequent flyer at all but I do love flying and your always friendly attitude, thats why I subscribed to your channel (to give you an idea what "not a frequent flyer" means for me: Last flight was with Air Berlin from TXL to DUS - haha ). If you film the takeoff like in this episode please turn off the music and let us hear the engines! I my opinion the takeoff is always the best moment ;)
Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I hope that this airport will stay economically viable for a long time. This destination is not easy for anyone (high altitude, only mountains around). Thank you for this interesting video.
Love ur work
Josh, another great video Sir, nice work! One of the places I've been to, and I don't know if you've ever been is St.Maartens in the Dutch Antillies. If you've never been there and sat on Maho Beach, OMG man you've never lived! Having a B747 over your head at around 30-50ft is awesome to say the least. Sadly the B747 doesn't fly into there any longer (nor the A340) but you can still get that feeling with the A330 and B767 over your head. If you've not tried it, DO IT before they close the beach down or something. It would make a superb video too. Thanks for the great content, and Happy Christmas!
you got lucky! when I flew there in October, there was some sort of military mission there and the CAs told us to close our windows before landing (also until takeoff on the return flight) so I never got to see the gorgeous mountains. Thanks for the video!
What a view !! priceless 🤩
Merry Christmas, Josh, and love from Phoenix, Arizona!
Thankyou for sharing your adventures.. such an interesting video ..
happy Xmas .. Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Big achivement there Josh Merry Christmas
Great video.
After working in Chine for a long time,I have flown extensively and often on all the airlines and can assure you the Sichuan are a solid and safe airline with new aircraft.
Enjoy the travels.
Cool video, Josh! I probably would have passed out. Happy, safe travels!✈
Wow I was at the exact boarding gate just 2 weeks age flying sichuan air on there a321neo what a coincidence I’m heading home to Australia in a few days ❤
Merry Christmas Josh (or whatever you celebrate)
Merry Christmas Josh and may all your travel adventures be safe.
Amazing Josh…..Merry Christmas and Awesome New Year.
Come on Josh, I do love you!!! I'm a local from Chengdu, even though, I have never been to Daocheng Yading, even it's in my province. I'd soooo happy to see you to visit different places in the world, that can make me to see the different world through your channel, please enjoy your stay in Chengdu and China.
This was awesome Josh! Congrats on this flight. Keep up the great work! Suscribed...
Hey Josh, another exiting trip you had with this highest airport. Thank you. I enjoy your video’s very much.
Greetings Ralph from Holland
All I can say is wow!!😮
Pretty interesting to learn about this. Would not guess it was in China but love that airport building too!
MERRY CHRISTMAS man.
Small note, Mount Elbrus (5642 m above sea level) is also considered in Europe - but living in Western Europe, the Mont Blanc is a more common reference to me.
True!
Great review Josh - thank you very much. I have been in La Paz airport (Bolivia) "El Alto" - the highest in the American continent with 4.100 m altitude. I would love to go back to the most Southern commercial airport in Ushuaia (Fireland) - Argentina.... Happy New Year, Josh!!!
we have a hotpot in munich right across our office and are there at least once a week. its fantastic!
Congratulations Josh! My bucket list airport is Anchorage! To spot all the 747s that transit there!
Thanks Josh, always a pleasure watching your videos. I think I know where you are off to next, probably flying with my airline, I am about 400km south of your next destination. I hope we fly in the same aircraft some day!
My highest altitude until now was 5000 m in Bolivia 🇧🇴, such a special uncomfortable but at the same time great feeling 😅
Fantastic ! 🌟
Josh - I felt out of breath just watching you! I think you are very adventurous attempting the highest to the lowest airports. My bucket list would be to fly first class on something like Emirates. I help people who have a fear of flying; I accompany them on a course and an experience flight. As a result I often miss out on the enjoyment of flying because I am so focused on the person I am supporting I barely notice the actual flight. It would be nice to do it for myself in luxury. I look forward to your onward journey. Hopefully you'll breathe easier.😊
Hey Josh, amazing one! So from what I hear, even though that's for sure a great motivation to go do such flights, it is usually not advised to fly directly to such heights, especially when you are not accustomed to it. It is usually a better idea to either take the road/railways to there, or to at least gradually increase the height, such as spending a day in a high enough place, but not too high so as to start getting accustomed a bit to the lower air density. Something else that you could have done is try and request a mobile air supply, those are usually available up there because of the amount of tourists who aren't used to high altitudes, that can help with that. Of course, I am not a doctor, but I did a bit of research and it's usually a good idea to not mess with high altitudes too much because that can become a bit dangerous, so just be careful, okay? 🙂 Glad to see that the experience was great though and that you are going back not too long after you landed, so as always, all the best, safe flights and Merry Christmas!
Looks like fun. I have been flying from Chengdu to Lhasa at something 3500m before, its like flight approach is less than normal.
Aviation Bucket List? For me not able to afford those dreams I am so lucky as a person living on a State Pension to have bucket list memories😊😊
Flying aircraft long gone such as Hawker Siddeley Tridents and sitting in one of the rear facing seats.
The stunningly beautiful Lockheed L1011's, both 200 and 500 Series. A short leg on an Aerolineas Argentinas 747SP (FCO-FRA) and being allowed to visit the cockpit as we flew over the Alps.
And in 1976, a Saudia 707 (JED-SAH).
And not too mention DC10s and 727s.
Good memories.
Hi Josh. My bucket list is topped by flying to Luckla for the fourth time. It's my favourite airport. I was always brought up to believe hotpot was created in Lancashire in England. Brillant review and fabulous views. Thank you. Merry Christmas and happy travels Josh
Merry Christmas Josh 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻
Thank you for this amazing vlog. Somewhere truly beautiful!
Great video Josh! Hope your altitude sickness wasn't too terrible. Unfortunately coca leaf tea isn't a thing in China like it is in Bolivia so you'll have to tough it out 😆
My #1 aviation bucket list item is to land on the ice runway in Antarctica, but that'll never happen for me. #2 would be to go to Bhutan and fly in and out of Paro.
Another amazing video! My Aviation bucket list would be to fly Singapore Airlines from New York nonstop to Singapore, worlds longest flight, preferably in business or first class.
I like the video very much Josh great video
What a beautiful location.....
I have always wanted to go to Saint Maarten and just lay on the beach watching the planes land over my head. And feel the force of the wind when they take off. I was so disappointed when KLM stopped flying the 747's to Saint Maarten. But thank god for CZcams where I can watch those videos. Safe travels!!!
I'd love to fly into Lukla, Nepal one day. I have a Nepalise friend from that region who used to fly in and out all the time and seeing his videos have definitely made me want to try it, he says Lukla is the most dangerous airport in the world which would make me a bit nervous but those views look amazing.
Wow stunning visuals ❤
Cool. Looking forward to the lowest airport trip!
Merry Christmas and a successful 2024. Remember...keep the blus side up and the tailwinds behind!
Thanks for your videos.
On my bucket list, there was flying Concorde…
Next there is flying AF La Première, which will happen in a few weeks, so excited !!
Great content as always ❤ My dream flight is flying Emirates in first class. I’ve flown United Polaris and I was extreme pleased but Emirates is next level.
Advance Christmas greetings Josh
Josh !!! Well Dane !! Recorded breaking is a big Achievement in yours life times!
I hope enjoyed a great time!!! Keep travelling around world!!!
Greetings rom Manchester!!
I have just recently accomplished one of my bucket lists of flying SAS Airbus A350 in Business Class! However the A380 and Emirates first class are high up on the list, so are the worlds longest flights and so much more!
Merry Christmas Josh, my aviation bucket list is to fly into Bhutan. Loved your recent post on this unique airport!
it would be cool to travel with you in the future Josh, love traveling too!
Great job as usual, Josh!!! My aviation dream is to be able to travel to the one airport that has the closest location to plane spot. Obviously St. Maarten Princess Juliana Airport is probably the best but I’d love to hear if there might be others better/closer. My second dream aviation moment came true when I was able to run down the center of 28R at Greater Pittsburgh International Airport for a 5K race this past summer. EXHILARATING!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work, Josh! You’re the best!!!
Merry Christmas. Safe travels.
I actually have only 3 aviation bucketlist items I can think of:
- Flying transpacific. Never done it so far. Somehow I always had a soft spot for the international date line. Really wanna pass that one.
- Flying at least one A380 of every scheduled carrier in the world with an A380 fleet. Done 3 already. Still some carriers to go.
- Going to Princess Juliana airport /Maho Beach in St. Maarten. That one will be ✅ in February 😄
Have a lovely christmas Josh 🎄
AMAZING
Amazing trip and video
Such a beautiful cute little town. I can’t imagine the adoptability of humans, clearly I will struggle to breathe there but there’s a whole town settled in such harsh conditions. I wish to see that view one day ❤
Well done Josh. Time to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year. All the best. Mick🇬🇧
Hi Josh,
I love the way you come up with these things. As a teacher in The Netherlands I feel privileged how good my life is. Although I fly on average ones a year since 2014, maybe the average is a bit higher, because in 2016 I made a tour around Europe, my dream is to fly to New Zealand (southern Island) one day and discover the nature. And then fly from Schiphol via Hong Kong or another airport to Christchurch and fly back via Los Angelos or Buenos Aires, so I really made a trip around the world.
Looking forward to your Kazachstan video, because I have seen a few from your friends and maybe even you and I love it over there. (Maybe another dream).
The Micronesian Island Hopper with UA is high on my bucket list. But No. 1 is still an Antarctica landing. And the Mahan Air B747-300, but I doubt it will fly again, despite the recent C-Check.
My bucket list is to Fly with Josh!! 😀 ❤🫶 ✈️
Happy Christmas to Awesome Josh
You touched my heart today that you dislike smoking habits ❤️❤️❤️ Josh Cahill you're awesome.
Happy Christmas Josh to you & your family
Absolutely fantastic video 👍 On my bucket list: The domestic transatlantic summer flight FSP-CDG
Great vid. As for bucket list, around the world in both hemispheres as quickly as possible. I reckon DXB (where I live) to SYD to LAX to DXB. How does that grab you in EK first for two of the legs, Qantas first for the other, all on the A380, the best plane in the air.
Merry Christmas!
Perfect
I was out of breath watching along with you!
