What Aviation Adventure you want to see next year? Let me know! ❤
Maybe modern destinations and airlines that weren't on the departure and arrival boards and screens 10-20 years ago.
I think you should run a competition so that one of your followers could take a trip with you.
Karachi - be my guest 🙂
Come to maldives and experience the world's biggest seaplane operator
Cyprus..Northern...There is a new airline called Fly Kıbrıs and I don't know if you had ever flown on Pegasus or AnadoluJet (to be known as AJet in 2024) ..That'd be some experience. And happy to help, if needed mate.
Don't know much about Bhutan and their airlines, but for their collaboration with Josh to let him into the cockpit to promote themselves and their country they deserve a lot of respect and a consideration for a trip destination
I went to Bhutan in 2011. I couldn’t see much of the landing as the weather was bad. I was amazed at the terrain when I was leaving. There were no fancy hotels, only small 5-10 room hotels with a wood stove. I remember Paro as being very loud because of the feral dogs. The penis’ were all over the place. We went to the temple of fertility and I was smacked on the head with a wooden and a stone penis. Climbing up to Tigers Nest was very hard as it was so steep, and I was avoiding the cats, horses, and monks going up and down the mountain. Never again (especially at my age 😂) We saw the Mt. Everest range flying back to Bangkok via Bangladesh. My diary of the trip was 52 pages front to back. Fantastic trip.
You couldn't see the landing due to the bad weather and yet, the pilot went ahead and risked a landing? Omg, i would have freaked out on board the plane big time. 😳
That landing is INSANE
If anyone was wondering, the 'terrain terrain pull up pull up' you are hearing was not actually sounding in real life 🤣I believe the editors have added that on top of the audio. As you can see on the upper ECAM at 5:38 'TERR OFF' is being displayed which inhibits the aural warning which you can press on the overhead panel. :) otherwise that would be rather alarming to hear during landing while you are trying to concentrate haha
Completely unnecessary to add that if that's the case.
I was not wondering, I knew right away, even without looking at the ECAM. SOP for a GWPS warning are clear. As soon as you hear that you absolutely DO pull up. It's mandatory. That's why the system gets switched off on approaches like this, because they are flown visually anyway.
Added for dramatic effect! 😂
Not it was clearly added. The ECAM indication "Terr off" means that the system was switched off. As it has to be, like I explained already. You are legally required to pull up if you hear that warning.@@mcomism
I turned the egpws off in the sim flying this approach in a B737-900 and it will still shout “pull up” 🤷🏼♂️
Could this be the finest video Josh has posted? Amazing country, terrific journey indeed. Imagine if the rest of the world was like Bhutan.
Of all the excellent videos you made, this has to be one of my favourites. The friendliness of the Bhutanese people, all the way from the pilots and cabin crew to your guides, such kindness is indeed worth noting. I hope one day I could visit this little gem of a beautiful country.
A creator who would do anything to give their viewers the best experience, is the best creator. Thats Josh Cahill for you, well done!😊
No wayyy, I just got a heart, I have been watching you for 4 years now. And finnaly, thank you sooo much!!
This has been my most favorite video yet. It's great to show the skill level of pilots that passengers take for granted. There is so much humble beauty everywhere. Everyone was polite and kind. I was shocked to see the check-in so neat, clean, calm, and unstressful. I'm totally impressed by this country and people. Thank you for this one!!
A joy for the skilled pilot to showcase, a joy for Josh to show his audience and a great treat to watch. Well done Josh ✈️
Yes. This is an airport no green horn pilot can fly into even if he is a full fledged captain. One needs very special training for landings and take-offs from this airport.
That landing reminded me of arrivals at Kai Tak in the 1970s and 80s. You haven't flown until you have been aboard a 747 banking at the checkerboard in Hong Kong.
After that cockpit experience, I don't blame you for calling business class seats cheap seats 😂😂😂
Definitely 😂
Bhutan airlines giving Josh a seat in the cockpit is what i call ultra first class seat. 👌 😊
Thank you Josh for firing my desire to return to the airports again. You, Noel,Paul Lucas, jeb brooks and his wife, and simply aviation are a major part of my love to travel to grow massively. Bhutan has been a dream of mine to travel to but sadly money issues don't help lol. But I pray one day that I get to go and with a few friends and my brother too. You've got my love aviation to return and stronger than ever. I got my job back at an airport with united. The goal is to pay off my debt and save to travel. Thank you so much josh and those who were named above.
Wow! I had chills on that landing. Those pilots are a credit to aviation. What beautiful people from the flight crew to the tour guides. I had to look up where Bhutan was located. Your accommodations were beautiful. Safe travels.
Wouldnt even know what id do if i heard those kinds of sounds in the cockpit no less! What a wild ride as always, the best aviation youtuber out there!
The skills of those pilots, flying out with such low visibility, I got goosebumps just by looking at it. Thank you Josh for bringing such wonderful content ❤
Imagine your daily landing gives warnings like: CAUTION TERRAIN! PULL UP! PULL UP!
That is crazy
Good thing you only hear that in the cockpit
@@ninettemurk7492it’s loud! Pretty sure you can hear that if you’re seated in the first row 😂
Great video as always. Part of the reason Bhutan is challenging is what would happen if the aircraft made a balked landing and had to climb out with an engine failure. Thankfully extremely rare, but the issue would be climb performance on a single-engine go-around and terrain clearance.
That is a sensational approach. I flew into the old Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong a couple of times and that was scary enough. This approach was in a whole different league though!
I like your honest and straight forward approaches exploring aviation & the world. I wish to see more local adventures, Bhutan is surly an outstanding place to visit. Greenland was a fantastic documentary too, please more of this sort!
Josh, this is the most exciting video I’ve seen of an AV geek so far! You made me laugh, you made me cry (in a good way because of the epicness). THESE are my favorite videos that you share with us. Loved learning about the people, the pilots, the plane, just all of it! This is my favorite video of you. Thank you.
I think probably this is your best video yet! Bhutan is wonderful.
One word- amazing! Bhutan is firmly on the bucket list now.
Great video - I love your channel! I flew many times with infinite flight (flight simulator) to Paro and I have to say, it really is the most difficult airport to land, surrounded by mountains - even with flight instruments, you have to fly a manual approach as ILS /VNAV are not an option... btw that last unexpected steep hill before landing is insane as you sharply descent at the very last moment, while trying to reduce speed - engaging full brakes / reverse thrusters on high elevation....Josh, also check following airports that are on the same level of difficulty to land: Lhasa (Tibet), Bole (Addis Adeba - Ethiopia) and Aspen / Colorado - if you want, I can send you my replays / channel link of my landings if you want to use my material in the future (for free of course..)
edit: he really flew the most difficult approach as you overfly the airport first, according to the official flight sheet
I'm both jealous and not jealous of you hearing the terrain warning in person
its very awesome that you got access to the cockpit during landing
Josh, Great video one of your best.👍 So many avgeek videos have been done before but this was something different. Try doing the flight down to Antartica (South Pole) that would be cool.😁 One point you missed in your video is Bhutan airport has a fairly short runway so this makes the landing more tricky as well.✈️
I love all of your videos, but this is my favorite so far! I love the whole vibe of Bhutan, and the landing/takeoff were amazing. Please go back next year, heck I may see you there!
Love watching Josh’s flight reviews and a bonus to see you travel around a country, what a great review.
Paro isn't the most dangerous... Lukla (Nepal) is. You have to fly onto a runway halfway up a mountain in the Himalayas and, at the end of it, is the mountainside. Yes, that's right, you have to fly onto a runway with the end being the rock face of the mountain.
So you'd better stop quickly, otherwise you crash.
And when you take off, you take off downhill, with the runway ending in a 9,000 foot drop.
I like how my airport has daily connections to this beautiful country. I live in CCU. Bhutan Airlines flies daily and have even filed for a second daily. Druk Air flies 5x I believe, 1x a week with A319 and rest ATR 42.
Josh’s smile when he says he will be joining the captains…..
Wow Josh!
Great video
The Bhutan airport reminds me of the days I use to fly into the old Hong Kong airport !
Oh man, what a destination! I can barely landing Airbus in Paro in flight simulator, real thing is nuts!
Luv this video, sitting with the captions watching how they landed the plan, was something else, amazing. thank you for sharing this video. Plane decor looked nice and clean. Have a safe journey.
wow, great video! impressed. Such open Bhutanese people :)
Love that cabin crew. Soo exited doing the job and really nice to the PAX... and the Captain landing at Paro is a Legend. Perfect! The fact that you can buy Penises in every size and shape at the market is absolutley awsome... I have to visit Buthan now... thank`s Josh😅!
What a great video!! So interesting to see that approach.
Hugely skilful approach and landing!!
Wow what an awesome experience and adventure, truly a fantastic video. Was excited with you.
What an amazing country and thus video Josh. Normaly one only films the approach and that is it. Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks Josh! Has to be one your best and my fave.❤️❤️❤️ Keep 'em comin' bro!!!
Ahhh so that's where you got the A319 model from ;)
Thank you for visiting Bhutan(The Land of Thunder Dragon). 🇧🇹
Wow, that is incredible! Thank you so much!
Josh would do anything to entertain his viewers . He is a genuine legend . Sending lots of love from Australia 💙❤💛
I've watched your channel for a long time, and this was one of my favorite videos. What a beautiful country full of welcoming people.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. What a great airline, super friendly staff, a beautiful country and warm, welcoming people. Thanks for taking us with you Josh.
This was incredible video. I have flown into Teleride, Montrose, and Aspen Colorado but this was out of this world. Loved this video and all of the extra.
Safe travels. Wow. Thanks for taking us. Bhutan is the best place to visit. Cheers.
Wow you are such a lucky guy to have such travel in Bhutan!
What a lovely staff onboard, I wish I could meet some local people in Bhutan. All smiles and exploring a new country .
Amazing cool and increadible!! Thanks Josh!
I took Druk Air and sat in the jump from Paro to Kalkota. Quite the take off huh
Holy Mother of Gods....that last take off in the rain and IMC...an EFATO would be epic \\m//
A privilege to be in the jump seat for that approach & landing. Brilliant video
The landing is crazy, but that takeoff with clouds hiding the mountains is equally as wild
Brilliant Josh. Got to be one if not the best reviews. What a lovely country with such lovely people. I’m a bit old in the tooth now but if I were ten years younger it would be definitely on my bucket list. Stay safe. Mick🇬🇧
What an adventure and what an amazing landing. Great video Josh !!!!
Beautiful Country, the views out of this world. Great video thanks Josh.
Those pilots certainly earn their money with skills like that.
OMG was it sad to see those Thai 747s with ripped out engines, I'll so miss the queen of the sky!
Wow! what an incredible experience! That was crazy!
I'd love to see the full landing footage, what an impressive approach and great access to get such a shot.
Now that was a very cool take off!!!
I tightened up on that landing for real lol. Great content!
The terrain is Stunning and the pilot is talented
What an amazing journey you took us on Josh, thank you mate
Great video. Always love your posts and honesty. I think Noel would love to sit in the cockpit for landing and take-off Keep well ..
wow...loved this!!
Cool video Josh. My uncle used to be a flight engineer on Cathay Pacific 747-400 jets and he told me several stories about landing at the old Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong from AKL, and other places that he used to fly to/from. Part of the story involved a hard turn as the plane went over H.K. at near roof top height, and - from memory - a cockpit warning just like or similar to the one at the start of this video.
Before you say most difficult approach in the world, there are a couple hair raisers in the Andes I understand.
Crazy approach to an immensely beautiful place
Excellent video. Bhutan is beautiful both scenery and it's people.
Thank You for visiting Bhutan 🇧🇹.
Wow, so great Josh. I love this airport and it's definitely on my bucket list! Next trip for you 6:08 Saba or Lukla? 😅 All the best from good old Germany.
Loved it Josh !!!
One of your best aviation adventures.
Wow!! What an amazing flight/landing experience.
Merry Christmas mate!
omg that landing was awesome!. omg that bath in the room!!! 😻
another exceptional video, you get better and better!
Wow, the landing was so exciting..... like watching a crime movie! 👍
“Back in the cheap seats” - best line ever 😂
Amazing landing … w/o awesome . Thanks Josh !
A warn love from Nepal
To Mr.Josh and the people of
Beautiful Himalayan nation - Bhutan
🙏 💐 Namaste
Wow what an approach! Watching it on your video makes us immersed with the actual landing
Thank you Josh. Hope to see you in Bhutan again. 😁🙏
What an amazing experience to be in the cockpit for that landing.
Thanks for the great video. I have been to Bhutan in 2014 and its was a real lifetime experience. Both the people and the country were amazing. Well one question, why are allmost all videos documenting a landing in Paro titled "most dangerous .....". I would agree to "difficult", "very challenging" everything true, my impression was that the people in Bhutan are not adrenalin junkies but very reasonable responsible and nice people - which is some contrast to operating the "worlds most dangerous" airport
Josh WOW !! What an amazing approach that certainly looked like an awesome experience 😲😃
It''s not the world's most dangerous landing in the world but clearly it's one of the most challenging ever approaches and subsequent landing...
WOWWWW!!! Incredible!! but I was petrified at the approach to land !!!!
I absolutely loved this video Josh, I enjoy all of your content but this one, to me was special. Watching from Sydney… 🙏
Now to top things up, you must take a commercial flight into Lukla or a Heli flight to Everest Base Camp. That will offer next level views!!
maybe the best i have seen Josh! WOOHOO!!!!
OMG, That was so scary. Great Video by the way Josh. Thank you!
One of your best videos, Josh. Keep it up!
I had this landing and take off experience in Bhutan some years ago but with Druk Air, I am speechless , what an adventure ❤ and yes, it was a unique real aviation experience ❤ fantastic pilots and people!
Love your trip, one of my favorites
The jump seat looked like an amazing adventure! What a lucky avgeek you are! 😊
Could you do a go-around there ? Terrain looks pretty rough and rocky..
