I am very sad to admit that I've never heard of the Atlas bar.
    When did it come out?
So It provides comfort to the elbows as the force used to perform the rep starts from where the pad sits and not from the handles, there by shortening the moment arm but adding comfort and leverage to the lift there by allowing more weight to be used and less pain throughout the exercise.
    Nice little tool!!!!
The pads adding leverage on the forearm will remove some force needed by the targeted muscle and distributes it through other muscles to complete the rep but the pads also allow you to use more weight and they add comfort.
I like it, a very nice addition to any gym.
Someone with bad elbows should love this piece of equipment.

Seems like a decent bar, though it does seem a little expensive for 1 inch tubing, non super clean welding and under finished padding. Like you say though, it gets the job done I guess
As a side note, I like the way you have the weight tree behind the multi press. I love the way I have the yellow levergym and yellow multi system amongst black equipment, black flooring and black walls. Yet, The way you have your black levergym and multi press Looks appealing with it's own charm for sure.
Also I am glad you are enjoying the powertec lat tower. Although I cannot justify getting one back into my arsenal due to money, space and being covered by other cable stack equipment, I do miss the powertec lat stack pieces.. both for design and for an excellent strong negative part of the reps. The lat tower also looks good. The first one since the mesh grill looks in my opinion, that is worth a good look.

I agree; the yellow equipment in a gym with black walls and black flooring really looks sharp.

Hi, thank you for your review of the Atlas Bar. I ordered one. I wanted to “Mod” it and improve on it a bit. I have a set of Ironmaster Super Bench Pro V2 small leg roller pads that should fit perfectly in place of the standard ones. Additionally I have a set of Allen collars with a 1” diameter to be able to keep the roller pads set in place. Thirdly, I am getting some Stainless Steel slip on handles with the very aggressive knurl option made by Jesse at JD Gym Equipped at a 7” length.
These improvements will hopefully transform an already very nice piece of kit, into a top tier attachment? But the question I had for you is specific to the stainless steel knurled slip on handles. He has the option for them to be completely stationary with set screws or he also allows for the possibility of rotational ones. I can see that rotational might be a good enhancement to this piece, however, never having used it, I wanted to get your opinion on whether you would feel that having rotational hand grips would improve the piece and its function or make no difference at all, or even be a detriment? Thank you in advance for your reply/opinion

Gday HGHR, hope you had a merry Christmas and happy new year mate
Seeing you're doing a few cable exercises here, how does rear delt flys feel on your powertec functional trainer?
I hacked my 2x3 rack with 2 high points and 2 low points for shackles and bought 2 high pulleys, so I use the existing high low tower on my rack when using both pulleys at the same time and the makeshift functional trainer I turned my rack into isn't too bad, I can do unilateral high and low rows and unilateral pulldowns on the floor/crossovers/seated rows if I connect the low pulleys with a chain etc, but rear delt flys is an exercise I haven't tried yet, but hope it works. I think I seen you use your daisy chains on your powertec levergym for it, so I'm guessing it'd work for me

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews

Thanks so much and same to you, RWBB. I had to cut grooves into the pulley housing so each pulley could swivel 180 degrees. Without that modification, it didn’t work very well. However, I have a few rear delt variations I perform on 1 pulley while using both hands. If you check out yesterday’s CZcams Short, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Not a lot of tension in the beginning of the rep, but for the second half of the rep the hack works really well.
