When it comes to Sabaton, I always like their official videos.
Sabaton are their own brand of epic war metal (they don't have the high vocals to be 'power metal' or the orchestral aspects to be 'symphonic metal') Their entire catalog (almost) focuses on historical battles and war stories...
Formed in Sweden in 1999, the core of the band has always been Par Sundstrom (bass) and Joakim Broden (lead vocals)... Broden said he started on keyboards and wrote the music for the band before he was asked to become the lead singer. Broden described Sundstrom as an active workaholic - he works on the band's lyrics, production, management, finances and booking... anything and everything Sabaton...
Sabaton worked on demos before their first full album 'Metalizer' in 2002, but label problems put the record on ice... Frustrated, the band signed a new record contract and released their debut album 'Primo Victoria' in 2005... the first record to have overall war themes. It was followed by 'Attero Dominatus' in 2006 and Sabaton finally releasing their first album 'Metalizer' in 2007... 'The Art of War' (2008) continued the ascent of Sabaton and became a fan favorite record w/ 'Ghost Division' 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Signing the band to a bigger label Nuclear Blast worldwide, next album 'Coat of arms' (2010) was a success in Poland... it was followed by Sabaton's first live CD 'World War live: Battle of the Baltic Sea' in 2011... and the next studio album 'Carolus Rex' (2012).
However, Sabaton went through a shake-up in the personnel as both guitarists, the drummer and keyboardist quit the band... Sabaton was gearing up to tour the USA and Canada... Chris Rorland & Thobbe Englund (guitars) joined and did the tour which was filmed for a live DVD/CD 'Swedish Empire live' in 2013... Hannes Van Dahl (drums) joined by 2014; he is the husband of one Floor Jansen - lead singer of Nightwish.
'Heroes' (2014) was Sabaton's 7th studio album and first w/ the new line-up... Sabaton's constant touring and energetic live shows were ramping up their success and sales as the album charted at #99 in the US and #59 in the UK... #1 in Sweden. 'The last stand' (2016) was an even bigger success, charting at #63 in the US, #17 in the UK... However, the constant touring would be marked by guitarist Thobbe Englund leaving the band in 2017... Tommy Johansson (guitar) joined Sabaton as his replacement and was featured on 'The Great War' (2019), which charted at #42 in the US, #11 in the UK... #1 in Sweden, Germany & Switzerland.
Following the covid-19 pandemic, Sabaton resumed touring in 2021 and already had a new record out by 2022 - 'The War to end all wars'... which charted at #87 in the US, #16 in the UK, #1 in Sweden, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Poland & Finland... #87 in Japan, #25 in Australia. Sabaton's success is purely by touring w/ almost no media hype or promotion... and internet fanfare of their elaborate music videos on YTube...

First time I went to they opened with Ghost Division and directly after Primo Victoria and Joakim made us jump for the entire song (The festival I was on is their hometown). That was pure evil hahahaha!

Every year the biggest concerts in the world take place in Vodstook, I've been going there since 1995

Fact When Sh*T hits the fan and 90% of human beings are running and screaming its REAL heroes that charge in to try and save others. Yet today the MsM tries insistently to villainies those few. Call them Toxic and Racist. I'm 75% Irish 25% Germen But as an Adopted Native Tlingit I'm 100 % native and Proud of it. To the point, When sh*T hits the fan and it is going to more often than not, and globally sooner then the 2%ers want you to believe. It those few that are Overly Masculine and heroic that YOU will be beholden to save your future. I had grandfathers on both sides of WW2. One was flying B-17s from 44 till the Berlin airlifts and the other was an Enginering Officer abord KM Bismark. Both, By the grace of GOD survived to see their kids marry making Me. I'm living Proof that the 2%ers are Full of SHIT!!!!! Heros are not defined by uniform but by ethics and Morals. One can be ethical and moralistic and still be duped, Hude winked, Swindled, lied to and deceived by a corrupt politicos and still be a good person. It's when they adhere to there "Ethics and MORALS' despite that, that they transcend the norm and become heroes.
This is the original band lineup. Not long after in 2012, guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, drummer Daniel Mullback and keyboardist Daniel Myhr left (amiably, they wanted to tour less) to form the band Civil War, which also uses historical war themes. That left original members Joakim Broden (vocals) and Par Sundstrom (bass) who were joined by new members Chris Rörland and Thobbe Englund on guitar, and Robban Bäck on drums. Englund and Bäck have since left, replaced by Tommy Johansson on guitar and Hannes van Dahl on drums. Pretty much every Sabaton song is epic. Their music videos are theatrical masterpieces (I highly recommend Christmas Truce and 1916 - bring tissues) and their live shows are insane, energetic, and highly entertaining.

@@jacobpaulson23 You're correct. This is not the original lineup as this show was in August 2012. Chris, Thobbe, and Robban joined the band in March 2012 and Robban left in November 2012. My mistake, and thanks for correcting me. What can I say, I'm old.

Great reaction! Sabaton is such a great band that always the history of war and persons that participated, without taking side. The raw history. I will recommend both the song Bismarck and No bullets fly. My personal favourite is a song in Swedish that's called "En livstid i krig". That performance! Put on the subtitles on that one. Really strong with a great crowd interaction!

That was cool. Hope you react to more Sabaton. Suggestions? Well, all of their animated STORY versions are great. ( The Red Baron, Lady of the Dark, Night Witches, The First Soldier, No Bullets Fly and Christmas Truce) I don't recommend the animated Christmas Truce version, because the official version is so much better.

I wonder if you. would consider listen to sabatons guitarist sing? He is really good and has his own band Majestica where he is the singer songwriter and guitarist .. but he also makes covers of songs he love on CZcams on his channel .. some suggestions are “your the voice” by John Farnham or “Alone“ by heart ( Floor Jansens jokes with him in comments on that one and asks why it sounds familiar 😝 .. they know each other, not only because Floors husband is the drummer in Sabaton but also because Tommy made the music for her covers of frozen 2, oblivion and agabe) .. and I must say I really enjoy your reactions to Sabaton and Nightwish 🌹
Rommel was a amazing guy, I’m not sure how much you know of ww2 but Rommel was a German general or field Marshall I’m not for sure on that but these guys are the ones to defeat France and really use the new idea for ww2 warfare called blitzkreig.

Awesome reaction! You should check out The Lion From The North! That's a powerhouse of a song for the drummer! I'm a 14 year old drummer from Spain and it took me a lot of boring double bass endurance practice to record this one. So I know you'll like this song if you like songs with cool drum parts.
