The snow looks and sounds amazing. It even leaves little trails whenever the staff slides along the ground. Even during the boss battle I kept looking how the ground changes.
They need to make a snowboarding/snowmobiling game with these mechanics.

This game is more than just stunning graphic, it more than meets eyes. Those statues, wall paintings in the background, the setup of each boss, all have deep links to Buddhism and Chiness mythology.

I always thought Tang dynasty has the most mythical aesthetic and this captures exactly that, and it portrays the horror of Journey to the West demons and monsters like no other. The grittiness and inhospitality of the temples and the mountains really shows the kind of ordeal Sanzang had to face on his pilgrimage. All the other adaptations I've seen either portray this grim aesthetic either too lightly or go overboard into the edgy territory or gets held back by limitations in costume and VFX.
@@hejalll For online games you are targeting as big of a user base as possible, as a result you can only create games which can perform well on the average machine, otherwise you will have limited online activity due to system requirements. In addition, there are too many main characters with too many effects causing massive strain if quality is too high.

Looks gorgeous. I love mythology based games. Everyone is struggling to find a new creative venue to dive into, yet they ignore the 1000's of year of mythos and history that's already in front of us. Even Bram Stoker's Dracula is from 1897 FFS. Remade about 5x+ times over the Century.

The game itself looks quite decent but that monologue is not even close to original writing style of "Journey to the West"(As in that way even many Chinese native speakers will have difficulties to understand its meaning)
@@arenagod69 The subtle in the video does an okay job for people to comprehend what they try to express, I'm afraid if they want to improve the translation, many sentences can't be translated directly(In other words they need to be paraphrased by professional scholars with good understanding for both cultures). But I think they'll probably localize the game better at official releasing so you shouldn't worry much about that.

the writing has really improved, just not having an empty, childish story of a hero who saves the world is visionary in itself.
If I can humbly give an opinion, I think the boss who asks for leniency and suddenly attacks Wukong is a great touch of realism, bosses could celebrate when they land a hit or even a hit on the copy of wukong's dodge, and then be surprised when they detect no wound. Keep up the good work!!

Journey to the west is not a child story at all... it's very very very deep, you will understand it if you read it, writer use a lot of metaphor to satire the religion and gavorment system&people relation in his time

Они демонстрируют именно графику нового покаления на новеньком с иголочки движке со всеми новыми технологиями трассировки лучей, генерации частиц, текстурки и прочее. О сюжете пока ни чего не известно. Может просто миф "путешествие на запад" в игровом изложении дадут, что тоже не плохо.

Astounding envirnoment, interesting into, and the gameplay looks pretty good too
Even the naked eye, you can see the core gameplay from Dark Souls, but it doesn't look as a cheap copy like Mortal Shell. They didn’t show only the respawn mechanics, I really hope that this will not be a save-load. It looks just amazing, the impacts are felt through the screen, the snow physics are just 10 points!
But there are strong doubts about replayability - one character, one weapon, a modest set of techniques. The replay value of souls-like games rests on a large arsenal and variability of gameplay styles. This game needs a catchy interesting story to motivate the player to play through it with one available style. Enemies looks interesting, the locations are fascinating, I hope the story will not disappoint.
In my opinion, it doesn't necessarily need a large arsenal in terms of weapon availability (though a few extra weapons, say a sword, axe, maybe even a hammer wouldn't be bad at all of course), what it needs is a vast array of different skills (ahem... skill tree) and character abilities that match all the lore behind Wukong that will make it so it never gets old beating the crap out of enemies and feeling like a badass doing it.

I see many positive comments about this game and that makes me happy but sadly I have few negative things to point out. 1. Even though the snow looks amazing and it leaves trays, I don't know why the character is very deep and not above the snow and then slowly sinking (3:10). Another point about this point is that the snow takes a while to update its trays (3:33 - opponent). 2. Character animations are very awesome but the transition from one animation to another is a little bit laggy (3:50) (6:42 - opponent) (7:12 - opponent) (8:19 - running animation start first without move). 3. Hitboxes do not look very precise to me (4:45)(7:14).
I know they are planning to release in 2023 and hopefully, they are going to address these and more, but I wish they could improve all these points and I hope it does not feel clunky in a way that is not pleasant to play, but overall it looks nice and promising.

By the time this game comes out next year we will have seen every boss fight and every special move the Monkey king has to offer.
I think this game is targeting 2023 as the release, so not next year, but the year after at least.

Insane graphics, insane atmosphere, but the wonky combat system somehow destroys it. Really unsatisfying to look at, probably even more unsatisfying to play. I hope it's still a big plan to tweak the system as this is just a demo, because this game could easily be a GOTY if done correctly.
Extremely high potential, but they gotta put tons more work into the combat and it'll be a masterpiece.

Yeah it just needs a ton of polish. The hit boxes on the boss move sets seem very inconsistent, and the dodge seems like it has way too many i frames, as well as too much distortion on weapon hits. I have a feeling that, similar to God of War, the fights against more human sized enemies will be quite clunky and unresponsive feeling, but the fights against giant mythical creatures will be pretty satisfying. The dragon fight looks like it plays significantly better than the backhand sword monkey

I think the nature of the game just lends itself to either mowing down huge mobs of little guys, or fighting one giant boss. It’s just my personal opinion, I’m a big god of war fan but I don’t think it’s perfect

@Dylan Bradley yeah there’s just way too many i frames on these dodges. If they just make that small fix, it’ll make a big difference. We just have to hope that the pkaytesters they get aren’t video games reviewers who think a game with any form of challenge is too difficult

I was thinking, why does that dragon make monkey sounds, when he gets hit, and I remembered you play the Monkey King. Anyway. What a great fight. I'm not looking back, after moving on from games with like 6-7 abilities in your PVE rotation. Whoever went with fewer attacks, a lot more mobility and much more difficult fights, deserves some sort of 'Founders' recognition. Really like this game, but the 'double club' is a glaring flaw. Really hope this is an early on weapon 'look.' Just makes NO sense, from what we've seen about this game. A gloriously awesome white dragon getting taken own by a pedestrian looking double club.

This is the kinda game where I’m willing to wait another 3 years just so they can make it perfect
Cyberpunk was hyped up too much with reputation from CDPROJEKT. This game is made by a studio no one really cares/knows about. Even if they do, it's not something to worry about.
Also taking a concept and making it a soul/hardcore like game is easy as oppose to making a vibrant world with gazzillion of things you would want to do in games like Red Dead Redemption or GTA. So when they made Cyberpunk, they failed to nail a lot of things and instead rode the train of fame. Hence the failure, in a way. Of course there were internal issues in terms of marketing, overworking devs and other things.
This game is not like that. It's gonna be like Sekiro...you go from one place to another, kick enemies, beat bosses by knowing their attack patterns (oh so "great" soul like concept) and so on. So it's not like the monkey king is going to roam around the place driving 100 different cars, flying aircrafts, buying and selling clothes and stuff from vendor, fall in love, etc etc like you see in a RPG like aforementioned ones.
If they execute it right, should be just fine. Less things to worry about. Also comparing Cyberpunk and this game are not worth it. one is Story driven, open world/sandbox RPG, this one is more like Action-RPG.

I was actually hoping because of the demo of UE5 last year, we can now clearly see a weapon hits a target for example an arm, not like hitting a "barrier" when hitting an enemy type of effect.

Thats something developers could do since forever, they decide to make them larger for easier gameplay, the real innovation here is the graphics

This game looks awsome but I hope they change the sound of the impact of the staff, it sounds too light and make it seem like you're hitting nothing.

Looks brilliant. It instantly has me imagining a new Diablo sequel. I love the perspective and how it brilliant shows off what UE5 can do. It's just that bit more immersive than the isometric view traditionally seen in Diablo but still lets you rotate and see the larger game-play area.
We just gonna ignore how cold that stare down at 8:45 was 😪

I wanted to play this game a lot, I've also heard many stories of Wukong in manga, a god who practices martial arts, has many mangas with his myth.
The bird with the human head really cracked me up hehe. The tracks in the snow really look amazing btw, too bad they couldn't make it slightly more gory by having the blood splatters falling on the ground and merging with the snow as well.
