    We here in the USA got screwed with this QN90A model within only one 2.1 HDMI 4k @120 HZ. The European model which is the QN95A, has the one connect box with four full HDMI 2.1 input. If we need the one connect box we got to buy into the 8k models which presently is a waste of money due to the lack of meaningful 8k content. I personally won't buy another TV until it has as least three full HDMI 2.1 input s.

    For some reason Samsung doesn't show this info in spec sheet.

What do you think? The brightness of the NQLED really impressed me when I saw it in person, but I couldn't watch any dark scene, cut the store was about to close... • @loki76
    @loki76 Před 3 lety +2

    What really sucks is that Samsung doesn't have Dolby Vision and I can't believe how cheap and dumb they are only offering 1 HDMI 2.1 port. Even dirt cheap TV's that are half the price comes with at least 2 ports.
    Seriously what are they thinking. It's basically the reason I won't likely get this TV. Some other faults it have, but they could be ignored and lived with if it had DV and at least 2 HDMI 2.1 ports..
    It looks pretty good otherwise. Nice review though.

    • @BatTech
      @BatTech  Před 3 lety +3

      Technically, DV is superior. The issue with DV is not all content looks better with it and no displays support 12bit panels yet. And these QLEDs get so bright in HDR and with the Samsung dynamic tone mapping, HDR content looks great even over DV. DV Gaming on the XBOX also incurs a noticeable input lag hit, so I wouldn't use it there. The other HDMI ports all support 60fps+HDR+VRR. Its important to note that the XBOX is the only one that supports the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1, so even when PS5 gets VRR, you are only getting 32Gbps. I think you have to look at use case, do you actually need 4 HDMI 2.1 ports? Or is it because you just feel better having them?

    • @evaloutionofman
      @evaloutionofman Před 3 lety +1

      You really need to go with LG for Dolby Vision content. Dolby Vision IQ isn't a gimmick, I haven't seen much that doesn't look better in Dolby Vision... If you use the Nvidia shield you can actually disable Dolby vision and it forces hdr so you can compare the two. It can be Dim and the ambient light censor can work with your room conditions to significantly brighten up overly dark parts of the picture. A little trick I use is bias lighting, it increases light in the room without effecting picture quality so the dv IQ will make the picture even brighter if I increase the lighting

    • @evaloutionofman
      @evaloutionofman Před 3 lety

      I think a lot what these experts recommend in regards to settings is quite silly for OLED tvs in general. The picture and color accuracy on these TV's are already far past what any led (other than micro) can achieve.
      They tell people to use settings that may slightly preserve an already near perfect picture and as a trade sacrifice a large amount of brightness and color vibrancy.
      I'd work the other way around with a QLED, it already has brightness and vibrancy an oled can't achieve so you almost want to tone it down a bit to get a more natural and accurate pic.

    This device is not for critical viewing but still cost like one.
    This TV set uses a lot of techniques to artificially boost and exaggerate the image. The shades of color that should be used are displayed much more vividly than needed. It gives a feeling of artificial brightening and enhancement. Consequently, the image has less contrast than it should have. Bright colors take on artificial shades, for example red colour turns into a soft pink and blue turns into a sea colour.
    It has weak black absorption (with the lights on, the black colour on the matrix does not look too deep due to the effect of the coating).
    Finally NO DOLBY VISION !!!
    That’s all folks.

    • @BatTech

      @@BatTech I'm looking for a new big tv in this month, but I cant decide between the 85 QN85A (VA) and the 77 C1, I already have a 55 C9 which I love it but I find it soo fuck1ng dim in SDR and even in Cinema Home in HDR, so I always have to watch everything in the vivid mode, even my living room not being thaaat bright. What do you think? The brightness of the NQLED really impressed me when I saw it in person, but I couldn't watch any dark scene, cut the store was about to close... (Unfortunately, my country doesn't have the 75 QN90A, and The 75 QN800A is a no deal, since there's not 8k content already).

    Oled has nothing to fear from LED TVs unless you're watching in a very bright room.

    Oled isn't close to in trouble lol believe me I've gotten to place the qn90a next to an a90j it isn't on the same level with light control or dynamic range it doesn't have the same depth and doesn't have the same detail lol don't get me wrong the qn90a is the best samsung tv made yet imo even if people are being hard on it but it still isn't an oled there is still a reason why samsung signed a deal with lg to get there panels over the next few years there is also a reason why samsung is putting 11 billion dollars into oled displays to make there own big oled panels by 2025

      There is also a reason why Samsung is the #1 tv brand in the world and it’s not because they sell Oleds! Samsung is getting Oleds for the same reason Sony and Vizio did…. To sell more TVs. The fact is, Oleds have come down in price significantly and this reduction in price is so they can complete in the Qled market!

    still the infamous samsung game mode... acting like a 20 zones local dimming tv with alot of blooming . They should really do what sony does.. increase the input lag abit to restore the local dimming algorithm to normal so u get the picture quality u paid for while gaming. Even a budget brand like hisense does alot better with their game mode picture quality.

      All LCD tvs have some form of blooming. But the blooming is reduced on the QN90A to almost OLED like levels. But it will never be perfect due to limitations of the technology.
