Bought one of those last month. Boy money well spent. Loving every bit of it.
Glad you’re loving it!
Can you give me your feedback how is the TV for watching low quality cable like old shows the reason I'm concerned I'm coming from a 940e Sony it's high quality processor for low quality content like old movies is the picture still good in these new reviews they always show 4K content but when you actually purchase the TV you're watching crap 7:20 cable.
Just bought Samsung QN90C 85inch at Christmas bit pricey but the HDR just blows you away.
Do you recommend?
Nice video keep up the good work GadgetGuy
Thanks, will do!
Well done 👏🏼 👍🏼 demo and info, Thank you from England 🏴
Thanks for your kind words from one of my favourite places!
@@gadgetguytech You’re welcome 🏴
Yes, finally prices and larger tv are getting more affordable for us common folks. But may still need to wait a hair more.😢😢
True, prices are dropping but still pretty expensive for the average family...I'm sure they'll keep dropping though.
€4200.. currently in the Netherlands
Costco in Australia has a special for under $7500. Very tempting to replace our projector theatre room setup. PS: good thorough review 👍👍
Oh wow! That's a sharp price. Thanks for your kind words about the video too!
As of 11.12.23 it's now $5,000 😮😮😮
@@o.c.g.m9426 still $8499 at Costco. Where did you see that price?
@o.c.g.m9426 no way, do you have a link?
found it for 3400 lol @@o.c.g.m9426
absolutely massive, great viewing experience... Can't afford😊
Hopefully the prices will drop soon!

Great Video
Thanks so much for your kind words!
I’ve had the Sony 98 for three weeks
Bravia core comes Damm close to blu ray.. at 80 or more gbps
Blooming is very minimal. If you blink you won’t see it,
You tube tv picture is very impressive, after watching direct tv for 20 years , streaming is the way to go.
If you’re going to hang it, use the human centric articulating wall mount. Mines floating 19 inches away from the wall.slight tilt. Looks very impressive.
Great advice, thanks!
You said you had it for 3 weeks why did you get rid of it and did you compare it to the Samsung 98
I should have reworded it to say I have had it for three weeks now but anyway I’ve had it since August 18 and picture is still phenomenal. CZcams TV picture is crisp full of color and 4K is at another level. No I did not compare it to Samsung. Dolby vision is a must
Nice reveiw! @Gadgetguy ..would you know what Cable stand/console table that is in this video?
Hi Mark thanks for your kind words! Hmm I’m not sure where the console came from unfortunately but I wouldn’t recommend it because it had a slight bow in the middle and not really strong enough for the TV. It was a pretty cheap one anyway. Apologies I can’t help more.
@@gadgetguytech that was helpful, thank you sir!
So samsung currently has two 98 inch model Q80C and QN90A the only difference between the two is one is mini led and another is full array led
Yes, but it does depend on the region you are in. In the US there's also an 8K 98in Mini-LED coming out. This isn't going to sold in my region (Australia) though. At least not for a while.
Which is better?
@@brownskinb5084 mini led is better for better contrast (better blacks )
But how are they next to each other is the extra price difference worth it that's the problem we have no samples we don't know it's like buying a motorcycle in Connecticut they don't let you test drive it.
Good review. Just curious whether the Q80C model overseas is equivalent to QC80 here in Korea. We also have a Neo-QLED 98" model called QC90 and would like to know the difference between QC80 and QC90 image quality. Subscribed and liked.
Good review, good quality
Glad you think so! We didn't have a long time with the TV so more of a 'first look'.
I just purchased one, delivered in a few days. Thanks for the video!!
Glad I could help! Enjoy your massive TV!
How do you like the TV
Hello my friend I want to buy this tv too. What do you think about it? It was worth it?.did you like the picture quality? How much was it?
Great video, but at this size, I'd be more inclinded to purchase the Sony X90L 98". The price, at least here in Mexico, is dropping every month, currently around $6000 USD (including tax) at a couple of stores. By black friday, it will be even lower. My gut tells me that if you are getting such a big screen, upscaling and motion is even more important and Sonys upscaling and motion is second best to none. I'm afraid with the 80C that the upscaling on such a big size won't be good, at least according to the ratings of the smaller size at Rtings. Also, Id be worried about its blooming and contrast ratio, which is worse than the X90L. For gaming though, the Samsung will probably be better.
Good points - Sony has a legacy of excellent colour processing as well as upscaling...
Now in middle of Ocotber I see it for 4500 Euros or 5000 US dollars. Peak brightness is 1150 nits, so much better than smaller Q80C sizes.
Pretty good price, and as new models get released next year I'm sure it will drop during clearance time. Yes, such a large screen means it's got a huge backlight so it's bright!
Just bought one for 35000NOK (~3270USD) in a black friday deal here in Norway :D Also got the Q995C soundbar to go with it, not included in the price ofc.
How is the picture quality? I want also to buy it. Given the size of the panel 98 inches does it deliver a good 4k picture? Tack så mycker. Nooris från Sverige.
That's a sharp price! There will be some amazing deals during Black Friday...
@@aysennooris2340 I dont know yet because i ordered it mounted on the wall, they will come 6. of december, yeah its a long wait x). But I think it will be on par or better than the Q8D i have now, its the same full array backlight tech but more zones, same nits and so on. And that is a very good TV! Read this is VA and not IPS panel like the rest of the Q80C series and that should be a plus. Mini led would ofc. be better but I think price/performance this is a winner. I was wondering about the TCL 98", it is 20k NOK here now, but I dont trust edgelit panels at that size.
I would definitely buy the tv and put it in my room
It's pretty amazing having a TV that big!
I would like to se the QN90C with 98" and 1000 dimming zones 😮📺
Now that would be impressive! Samsung usually doesn't disclose dimming zones for their TVs these days. Partly because it's different per panel size, even with the same model, partly because they don't want us to compare!
@@gadgetguytech I heard that bigger the size more dimming zones on the miniled 📺 Samsung
@@manuelpaz6716 That's true, the larger the panel, the more dimming zones. With Mini LED technology, there will be more dimming zones than the same sized panel using full array backlighting. In general, Mini-LED provides more precise control of the backlight in order to produce 'truer' blacks and less artifacts like halos and blooming around bright objects moving on a black background.
@@gadgetguytech I remember that Samsung released a 98 version of the QN90B so I hope the same 4 this year 📺
Honestly, I don’t see to many people buying a TV this size just for the family/living room I think 80~ is max. TV’s this size will be for dedicated Theater rooms.
True, it will be good in theatre rooms but I was surprised how well it fit into the living room space that I shot the video in. Not as big as I thought.
I just received an ad special for this TV, less than $5k. Love this TV. Is if worth this price?
It’s still great value. 2024 models will come out after April, depending on where in the world you live. Still, I don’t think the 2024 model will have huge advancements that make the 2023 not a good choice.
I just want to know if you can use a cable set up with the tv
Yes, there's a cable port at the back of the TV, although this might depend on your region.
Just ordered today directly from Samsung, great discount! And great down payment plan deal, i cant wait to see it in action!
That's fantastic, let us know what you think!
Delivery this week! Will do! And becouse of your detailed review i decided to give this Tv a try! so thanks!

Surprisingly positve review, thanks. Just noticed it doesn't even have 1 satellite tuner, odd for this price point. Like the 7000 Crystal series.
Yes that is a bit odd - guess satellite tuners are not as relevant these days...
I have an old 720p projector with a 106" screen that still has an amazing picture, I think 4k is plenty
True, projectors are perfect in the right environments...
hello Valens its me again thanks for all the recommendations, I have one question I need your suggestion for a wall mount, I was thinking on buying the Large Size Bracket Wall Mount (76”+)
WMN8000SXT from samsung. do you recommend me this one or should I get another one. because I want that the gap between the wall and the tv to be minimal. in the instructions of this mount it says if its going to be installed on a normal type tv or a slim type tv. this one is considered a Slim type right? the 98" Q80C
I'm told that the Large Size Bracket Wall Mount should work fine and is compatible with the Q80C 98". Any bracket should work as long as the VESA pattern dimensions are 400 x 600, and it can manage about 60Kg, that's all you really need. The Q80C is about 4cm thick so it won't be completely flat against the wall, but should look fine. I would say that the TV is a 'slim type' but the bracket should work regardless.
Do you have a review on the QN90c?
Hi, thanks for your comment. No review yet of the QN90C but will cover the latest 2024 8K 98in as soon as we get it.
Sir what about power consumption? Are we looking at 500w+ on standard mode?
The panel is rated for a max consumption of 430W, so that's when the panel is at peak brightness, so it won't draw any more power than that at any given time. It's rated for 289W typical consumption, so that's an average of peak and non-peak brightness and probably more reflective of what it will draw during a typical viewing session. Overall Samsung says, based on typical use, it would consume 1050kWh in a year. (For comparison, an 85in Samsung QN90C uses about 685kWh per year). Depending on what you're charged by your electricity supplier, you can calculate the cost per year to run it. I mention power consumption at about 13:40 in the video if you want to check it out. P.S. Hope the Cybertruck gets released soon!
@@gadgetguytechthank you for the detailed response, and yes soon there will be many more Cybertrucks that'll be seen on the streets 😊
Bought this one today on sale for $3999 in Norway. Had the TCl P745 98" but it turned out to be crap deluxe! So now im waiting for the arrival of Q80C 98" and get the TCL out of my livingroom. Any thought on calibration, does it have to be or is it smart to calibrate it? Is the one in the video calibrated? Cheers from Norway😃🇧🇻
Thanks for checking out the vid and I hope you like the Q89C more than the TCL! What was it about the TCL that you didn't like? In terms of calibration, we ran the TV out of the box, without any specific calibration, however, you can use the Samsung SmartThings app on your phone now, which uses your camera, to calibrate the screen so definitely give this a try when you get your massive Q80C! I hope you really enjoy it!
@@gadgetguytech Actually i did not go with the Q80C after all🤪 I came over a shocksale on TCL'S flagship 98C955 at $3500. Now were talking tv!! A whole other legue. The P745 was full of vertical stripes, massive blooming, dead read pixels, wouldnt turn on/off (had to pull the powercord many times), Dolby Vision was glitching all the time, it froze etc.. And ive heard and read the same from many other people. Maybe you should do a P745 review? Feel bad for those who keeps it with issues, because of its size and weight makes it difficult to handle. Anyways, im wery happy with my new C955! Love your channel👌👌 Erik
How about Sony X90L / TCL QM8 98” TVs ? Would you recommend instead?
Great question. The TCL C745 98in (only one in my market) is a solid TV with a very sharp price - and for thousands less than the Samsung. The key difference is that while both have QLED panels, the Samsung has a full array backlight, meaning better black control and colour volume, versus the TCL, which has a more conventional backlight. I believe the Samsung panel has a higher peak brightness as well. The speakers look to be better on the Samsung, however, they both support Dolby Atmos. Samsung's interface has a few more bells and whistles too, but the TCL's Google TV interface is decent, but with fewer streaming app options. The Sony X90L, on the other hand, is priced the same as the Samsung and much more comparable in terms of picture quality as it too has a full array backlight with local dimming. Essentially, the Sony and Samsung have a higher quality panel and deliver better picture quality, but the TCL does give you a lot of bang for your buck if you're not all that fussed about truer black and darker colour reproduction and more realistic highlights due to their brighter panels.
@@gadgetguytech According to TCL the C745 98in also has Full Array. The new TCL (QM8) which has a 98" option is Mini LED, but it is more expensive. Also, in the video you said that OLED TVs do not came in this size, but they do, they are just much more expensive (25000 USD)
Hi there,
Just thought i’d ask if you’re 100% sure only sitting 3 mtrs away from a Samsung 98” 4K tv will be okay. I’m really considering buying the Samsung 2021 neo qled 98” 4K tv & i’m around 3.3 mtrs away from where this would be mounted in my theatre room. I currently have a Samsung 75” 4K mounted there so would hate to stuff it up! Am i going to regret this purchase or will it be okay to buy?? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance Mat
I can only give you my opinion but it was absolutely fine at 3 meters away, which is where the couch was positioned in our shoot. I came into making this video with the assumption that 98in would seem 'too big' and unmanageable/unnecessary. However, it's surprisingly liveable and adds to the experience, so, while not truly "necessary", it sure is nice to have, and I doubt very much that you'll regret it. Maybe just a day or two to get used to the size...
I watch 75 inch from exactly 3 meters and after few months I can tell you you will regret if you do not go bigger😂
Not true lol jesus. Im at 13 ft and had the 77" S90C. Returned it due to flicker and terrible motion handling. 77" is a beast. Maybe if you are blind and have terrible eyesight you need 98".
Praying for 100 inch affordable OLEDs. We are getting closer to 5 or 6k to snag one I think.
Yes me too. Love the idea of a huge OLED. I have the 77in Samsung S95B at home and it is fantastic.
I can't get any reviews I want to compare this model to 98-in qn90a 98 samsung tv. Is the extra price worth it for the other one
I think this is pretty good for the money, and you probably don’t need to spend any more.
Would you recommend this or the TCL C98C45. Cant decide which one with the same price
I'd go with the Samsung but depends on what price you can negotiate. The TCL is a solid TV too.
What movie is it in the background? With the train fight
That’s Extraction 2 with Chris Hemsworth on Netflix. Great action!
Me: Growing up in the 80s with a 19" Zenith thinking that was big
I remember the first 32 inch flatscreen that I saw. Seemed massive! And those rear-projection TVs…
I bought a Samsung 86” and it also said 200hz, but it doesn’t support 120hz in 4k on Xbox series x. It only supports 120hz in 2k.
It's a little tricky with the stats sometimes, 200Hz doesn't normally mean that it will do 120Hz frame rate, as it would also need to have HDMI 2.1 to get enough bandwidth from your gaming console or PC to the screen.
I am honestly waiting for the price to go down I want 98 inch tv for my apartment in future and with my job and money ❤ I just want the 98 inch tv and big tv stand for my apartment in future 😂
This one will be great for your apartment! Hope price keeps dropping. 2024 models will be on sale soon meaning more discounts.
@@gadgetguytech also I want to get the 100 inch tv too thanks for reply
How does this TV compared to the other 98 inch TVs
It’s quite good considering its price point, and the screen quality that you get. There are cheaper models from Hisense and TCL, but Samsung does offer some nice packaging and cable management features too. You could spend a bit less but I think this is a option,
I’m interested in this TV for sure and will most likely pass on the Sony X90L since it has minimal gaming features and I’ll definitely have to wall mount with all the cables in wall and a nice set of Govee bias lights around it
That will look epic!
I managed to get it for 28000 SEK (~2675 USD) during black friday in Sweden. Got some additional refund and samsung rewards points on top of that. Amazing TV!
That's a fantastic price! How were your initial impressions? Did it seem too big or just right?
Got a deal and got this for 7000 canadian. The soundbar and speaker package for 1000 canadian. Overall my home theatre is ready for 8000 canadian which I think is a great deal. Sony was my other option but it was 10,000 canadian and no discounts. For less than that I got the TV as well as soundbar/ subwoofer and peripheral speakers.
Great price, I hope you enjoy!
Hello my friend I'm thinking on buying this model too. It was worth it? Did you like the picture quality? It.was worth it?
@@jorgmark I thought the picture quality was surprisingly good for the price and size. Often in the big-screen space, low cost TVs tend to really show their weaknesses as the screen gets larger but the Q80C holds its own and I don't think you'll have any regrets.
@gadgetguytech thanks for your answer my friend. I think I will go for it
@@jorgmark Great, hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think!
Would you take this tv over the 8k 85qn900c you reviewed?
Hmmm, prob still go with the 8K neo-QLED. It’s still big and the black levels are pretty impressive.
I really like the 98 inch tv and 100 inch tv i will get it for sure in future once i get first job and having enough money for it
It will be a nice reward!
is this better than the neo qled 98 inch ?
No
The Neo-QLED has a better picture in terms of black levels, contrast, brightness, less artefacts, however, the Q80C does provide a pretty good picture for the price. It all depends on how important these things are and what you're willing to pay. In my opinion most won't notice the benefits of the Neo-QLED unless they know what to look for, or are picture aficionados.
That’s it… I’m going outside for a walk.
Something to be said for getting out into the great outdoors! I think I watch too much TV as it is.
Hi please help I just got the 98” TCL S5 s class new led tv.I love it !!! Wish I can send u a video. It took 3 person to mount on wall looks awesome the pictures looks bright enough and good on hdr streaming looks pretty clear for the price. ONE ☝️THING my concern is why when the TV is on all black screen or blacked out on videos it’s 4 corners or grey cloudy 🌥 spots???? Maybe that’s what they called dirtyscreen effects DSE?? Is that normal will it get worst or is it a defect??? I would hate to take the tv down and exchange it. Please HELP!!!!!! Thx
Hmm, you could try to exchange it. I don't think that consistently grey corner areas sounds normal to me. While the TV does use a local dimming backlight, it's not the best, according to many reviews, however I don't think this would necessarily cause the grey corners.
@@gadgetguytech I’m having a Best Buy tech come look at it tomorrow, but from what he is saying it’s normal because it’s a big screen tv and led lcd without local dimming and most big screen tv has if .. only the oled would not. Plus my problem is that it’s a big tv I hung it and it’s too hard to take down too much he hassle so if it’s normal it’s fine
@@bucclao209 It is normal to a certain point. Does it bother you or do you notice it while watching content? If so you should exchange it, if not, just forget about it. There is no content with only a black screen. And try to put your brightness levels around 50%. Never at maximum.

Noted! Thanks for watching and will make the vids more universal.
a TCL C735 costs half and has the same display ....
Yes, it's cheaper but you'll make some compromises on the panel technology and features.
Worth it over a 85" QN90C?
I've used both and would be happy with the QN90C unless you really wanted something as big as possible. The picture on the QN90C is nicer as well.
Imagine that if you sit half as far away, a 65" looks as big as a 98" from twice as far away for 1/4 the price.
Go home tonight and hold your cell phone up at about half arms length in front if your TV... then come post if it's bigger than your TV.

Hello Valens, hope you are doing great, can you please help me choose my new TV. I have 2 options. the 2 options that I liked the most are the following. the Samsung QN90C 85" 2023 or the Samsung 98" Q80C 2023. there is a promotion in my country that if I buy the q80c 98" it will include the Premium Q-series Soundbar HW-Q930C and a samsung galaxy s23 ultra 256gb, all this for $6,525.93 including taxes. the other option is the Samsung QN90C 85" 2023 that includes the Soundbar HW-Q990C for the price of $ 4,876.05. what would you recommend me the most? I know that NEO QLED is a newer technology than the QLED, but I don't know if I should go for bigger size and less quality or smaller size and latest technology and quality. hope to get a response from you. thank you very much. as well how good are the Q-series Soundbar HW-Q930C and the Q990C?
Oh boy, that's a good question! I think that for me, the QN90C, while an excellent TV with a fantastic mini-LED picture wouldn't win over the sheer size of the Q80C. The Q80C's Full Matrix backlight still does a good job of adding contrast and controlling light. I doubt that you'll regret the 98in screen size, provided that you have the space for it. The things that might matter for choosing the QN90C, depending on your needs, are that, apart from a more nuanced picture, it has a better anti-reflective coating, and a better internal speaker system. The AR coating might matter if the TV is placed in direct sunlight, as the Q80C doesn't really have anything special here, and the QN90C supports 'true' Dolby Atomos including 2 up-firing speakers on the top of the panel and 4 other speakers to a total of 60 watts vs the 40 watts and no up firing speakers of the Q80C. However, as you'll be adding a soundbar anyway, it probably doesn't matter too much. In terms of soundbar, I've only tried the Q990C, and this has 11.1.4 channels and I like it as much as my Sonos Arc, which says something. Looking at the HW-Q930C specs, it still has 9.1.4 channels, and supports both DTX and Atmos, so not a lot of difference here other than the extra channels. It looks similar and I'm sure it will perform well. There is a pretty substantial difference between the two package prices, but the S23 Ultra is a very, very good phone should you need one, so perhaps that should be your defining factor. Both are great choices!
@@gadgetguytech Hello Valens, than you so much for your fast response, just to tell you a bit about where is going to be placed. The tv will be placed in the main living room where all the family watched tv shows and movies. It’s indoors and even tho there are big windows we have roller shades so direct sunlight wont be a problem. As well the Samsung galaxy s23 ultra I am planning on selling it because I don’t actually need it and I can get back some money from that purchase. So the final verdict will be the 98” inch Q80C. I was a little bit scared because as you know there is still a big difference in price and even tho they both are 2023 models I was not sure which model should I get because of the technologies differences. And I want this the to last me a lot of time. And for reference from where we are sitting to where the tv is going to be mounted its about 14ft.
Thanks again for your help
That’s the 2 I’m in between. The QN90c I luv… and the Q80c looks nice too.
If I'm going to get a 98" Samsung TV it will have to be QN95C,and not some entry level model.
Yes, that should have Mini LED and look fantastic.
there is the 97 inch LG G2 OLED for $25,000
That is an amazing size for OLED - and the G2 panel is darn good.
@@gadgetguytech Yes, it's really gorgeous. Nice review of the 98-inch Q80C. sitting 3 meters from a 98-inch TV is so immersive.
The full array vs the mini leds, zero difference really.
I wouldn't say zero difference - Full Array doesn't have the same degree of control or precision of light as mini-LED. In Samsung's case, the actual "Mini" LEDs are 1/40th the size of the 'standard' LEDs in in its Full Array backlight, so there are much more of them, and there are more control zones. This means that the backlight can be shaped behind objects in the image better, so that means less blooming and halos around object that are lit up on black backgrounds. I wouldn't say it's hugely obvious but once you see the difference, it's hard not to notice. Still, Full Array is pretty decent as it stands, but Mini-LED is better.
@@gadgetguytech I would say no difference because I owned both. One thing are specs and other the real world of those specs.
I've owned / own both as well. One place where I really noticed it was with end credits after a movie. The Full Array TV would have distinct halos around the scrolling text, the Mini-LED TV wouldn't. Still, not a huge difference that would concern most people. @@rafars2246
@@gadgetguytech I had the 75" Q8FN and now the 85" QN90A. And the non miniled Q8FN, not only wasn't lacking any black levels vs the qn90a, but the image quality was way better than the qn90a. Second best from 2018, vs "best" of 2021.
@@gadgetguytech Although that q8fn was an unicorn tv, one of those that are incredible with no explanation in why, considering pricing.

I do have a bit of a messed up accent! Born in Canada, spent about 4 years in the UK, then Australia until now...Some other people have asked if I have and Irish background too when living in the UK...especially when talking on the phone.
32nd...Thanks
Too small. I need that 105"
105 would be nice! You can get a couple of extra inches with the upcoming 100in Hisense U7 mini LED TV. I saw it in Berlin at IFA and have a video coming out soon with some details about it.
No Dolby Vision....NEXT!
That's a really good point and one of my frustrations with Samsung TVs. I don't know why they don't support Dolby Vision, and while HDR10+ is probably comparable, there is less support for it. My Xbox Series X uses it too. I think only Disney Plus has a decent selection HDR10+ movies. From my understanding DolbyVision needs a separate chip and licensing fees so Samsung avoids it to reduce costs.
@@gadgetguytech They will comply, im sure soon enough
Thanks for the review. It helped me to make the decision. Just got it on sale here @Costco for A$6499 and it is huge and amazing after coming from 55 inch.
Great news! What do you think of it so far?
Hello my friend I'm thinking on buying this model too. It was worth it? Did you like the picture quality? It.was worth it?
@@jorgmark : This is of great quality and size is perfect for our large living area. Quality depends on the content resolution as well for e.g. watching Netflix if great having 4K resolution. OLED is still good but that will cost just too much..
Can't keep up with the Jones next there will be something else
There certainly will. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) starts in early January where the big brands show off all the new TVs for 2024. Will be interesting to see what’s coming, and it will likely mean that 2023 TVs will drop in Price even further.
98" on 4K resolution? Noooo 😢 8k
If I were to spend the money, I would think 8K would be the option but I was honestly surprised how good 4K looked on a panel this size.
@gadgetguytech my tv comes Friday and I sit 13 feet away
Symptom of the decay of the American culture!
No major TV panels made in the US. Biggest manufacturers are TCL, LG, Samsung, BOE, Sharp, Kyocera, etc from China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
Kettle ;)
:-)
I brought this 145lb tv on 11.12.23 & put it on ebay for $4000 on 12.28.23. This tv is incredibly huge but 1080p content is not good. 4k content is awesome but im coming from Oled. Overall it needs to be in a huge livingroom or theater room. I sat 12 feet from my tv and it was too close
Shame you had to go through all that but thanks for letting us know about your experience with it!
I saw this Samsung 98-inch QLED at one of our retail stores here in Cape Town, South Africa. At first glance the size is overwhelming, but as I got closer to the TV, I immediately noticed that it does not look quite as sharp and vibrant as a QLED would normally look like in a 55-inch to 75-inch TV. I think 4K starts to look washed out when you surpass the 86-inch barrier. Sure enough, to an average user, they would be blown away by its sheer size. I think this is not worthwhile getting based on its price point. Size aside, there's nothing else that justifies the huge price tag. There are wayyy better options available for cheaper.
It's true that the pixels on this very large panel will be larger than 55 and 75in screens, and I was worried about that too, however, when watching it, this really wasn't noticeable as I was not sitting super close to the screen. In terms of a 'washed out' look, I can't say that I noticed this, as the QLED panel produces good colour volumes (intensity), even at bright levels. But, given its price, you could go for Samsung's excellent 77in QD-OLED (S95B) or 85in 8K Mini-LED TV (QN900C) instead, and these have better quality pictures, just not the size.
Price is definitely too high, but at the right seating distance you're not going to discern the pixels. You would be able to get closer to a 75" without seeing them, but that stands to reason. For a TV of this size, you'd want to be sitting about 2.4m away probably. As for the washed out look, that's most likely down to the settings and/or the content being played. Having seen one of these myself, there was no evidence of that whatsoever in my experience.
I guess you haven't heard of the LG 97 inch oled, you really need to be better informed.
Sadly, no, it's not in my market. This would be in the US, I presume?
Really? Oh man that's a shame. Yes, it's in the US and Canada!@@gadgetguytech
98 inch is NOT NORMAL
Yes, true, not yet! Although the TV companies would like you to think so. Each year the new 'standard' for a basic TV size goes up. Now it's 75in, a few years ago it was 55in, etc...
@@gadgetguytech it still is 55 inch, i dont see the average joe or day to day viewers buy a 98 inch tv with no knowledgeof 4k 8k hdr 122hz hdmi 2.1 :) i my self have a 65 inch mini led i like it, but im looking to upgrade in comming years and 85/98 inch seems insane cool but yeah the motion has to be flawless are we there yet?
My three TVs Samsung was stolen 55 inch , 50 inch and 32 inch , , I am very aware of Smart TV !
Sorry to hear they were stolen!
Better move out ya area 😂😂. Someone likes stealing from you
ALL Samsung monitors and TV's I had, died. Power supply failure inside the device. All of them. Not a Samsung fan.
Wow that’s really bad luck! I haven’t heard of so many consistent failures for a brand. Is it possible that your power where you plug your products in is causing a problem? For example a lot of power spikes that could damage the power supply?
I wouldn't buy no one's QLED or Mini QLED except TCL QM8 or Q7.
They are the ones who invented Q technology, and the pictures look 100% better.
Better black levels and crisp bright colors.
Not dull like Samsungs QLED.
Lol give me some of what u are hittin Samsung is king of QLed
Pretty sure that Samsung first put Quantum Dot (QLED) technology into its TVs. Others, such as TCL, LG and Hisense use derivatives of QLED.
TCL TVs are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@billtinnell2206 I have the TCL 98R754, and it is not horrible. It replaced a 77" Sony OLED, and I have no complaints.
