- The 6th of our Mother Daughter getaway trips. We toured Hanoi, Ba Be National Park, Ban Gioc waterfall, a working incense farm, Tam Coc, Elite of the Seas cruise ship, Hoi An, Marble Mountain, The Imperial City in Hue, and a two day Oxalis cave adventure.

I took my family to Ninh Binh and we thought the scenery was so beautiful with the meandering steams and temples. We were blown away by Halong Bay, so magnificent. The VN crew on the cruise ship was lovely and the food was so good. For 2 teenagers to sit on the room balcony and just stare quietly but in awe of Halong Bay for 15 minute is a testament to how it took their breath away.

Vietnam could be as nice as Japan or even better if people stopped littering and vendors cared about food safety.
@@nocancelcultureaccepted9316 - yes, like Japan where we have millions of walking zombies, with one of the highest suicide rate, where food costs a ton of money. I guess Anthony Bourdain, Gordon Ramsey, etc are just idiots. You want food hygiene, go eat in a hospital cafeteria. I've had Australian and Canadian consulate officers who said they had food poison eating at fancy and hotels restaurants in Hong Kong and the US while they did not have problem eating food in VN. If you want to stick to your kind of place, fine, but don't go around lecturing a country how to do things.

@@20luzer52 Thank you for saying that! NoCancelCutlureAccepted has been going to all the Vietnamese videos and spewing the same vitriol over and over for at least a year or more. They've certainly got an obsession with Vietnam and serious issues. I would think their mental health would be better served if they'd go to videos that agree with their views...but the idiot continues to spew his poison....you'd think with all that time and energy on their hand, they'd go over to Vietnam and pick up the litter themselves as it'd serve a better purpose than just spewing trash out of their piehole.

This was a long, but absolutely amazing video of a mother and daughter trip! What awesome memories you guys made together. I cannot believe all the activities/excursions/adventures you guys did...and mom turned 59 during the trip?!? She is AMAZING!!! I could not believe she climbed all 500 steps to the dragon as before that you guys had to climb another set of steps somewhere else and it was only 1/3 the amount of steps you guys did that day. To top that off, she did the multi-day caving/camping adventure! UNBELIEVABLE!! I'm sure plenty of people younger than her could not have done it. I was for sure they'd be carrying her out, but nope, she was a trooper and finished like a champ. I LOVED it!!

Well the video I watched three times already. It is very relaxing seeing mother nature as it's best , mom and daughter Sherry and Ashley have a very soothing voice , the places you went for lunch dinner drinks wish I was there to dance a bit with the two of you. By the way mom has a good Rythm .

Lots of amazing places up north to see and do and they did most of it. They did miss the Ha Giang Loop, which I assume they could have done since Ashely (?) can ride a motorbike and they were already in the area since they stayed at Ba Be National Park. Another place they skipped was Sa Pa and maybe even Cat Ba.

Based upon all the activities they did, I think they are more into nature and adventures, which I personally love. Some people just don't like busy, hectic, shining new stuff because that stuff they can see in any modern Western city.

Pho and banh mi are representative of Vietnam's cuisine, but they are just the tip of the iceberg of Vietnamese cuisine.
The food and city could be better if the people stopped throwing trash everywhere and the vendors made with food safety and sanitation in mind.

Ashley, since you guys were motorbiking around a bit...did you consider doing the Ha Giang Loop at all (check out videos from LukePalsm, CularTravels, episode 6 of the bike trip that Paddy Doyle did last year) since you were already in the area. Also curious why you chose to skip Sa Pa as there's a lot of stuff to do up there (ride up to Fansipan, glass bridge, waterfalls, parks, trekking with ethnic group, herbal bath with ethnic group, etc.) BTW, the rooms you guys got on the cruise were some of the best I've seen! Love the views from there and your own outdoor shower? What?!? LOL

Avoid that place at all cost! Its a trap! We were almost crushed to death by thousands of the crowd and there were security in sight!
